Hosepte (karnataka), Aug 21: Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu visited the world heritage web site of Hampi in Karnataka on Saturday.
Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu and his family were garlanded by a temple elephant during their visit to Virupaksha Temple in Hampi The Vice President along with his family also fed the elephant with bananas.
He was accompanied by his relatives. He was taken across the web site by native officers, together with information of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
Hampi is situated in Vijayanagara district. It was the capital of the Vijayanagar empire. The ruins of the Vijayanagar empire attracts vacationers from everywhere in the world. The centerpiece is the Vitthala temple, whose options embody musical pillars.

Meanwhile, Naidu is on a visit to Karnataka from August 16. The Vice President laid the foundation stone of the Innovation and Development Centre at Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) in Bengaluru on Monday and also addressed the scientists and engineers of Hindustan Aeronautical Limited (HAL) on Friday.
