TMC Supremo attacks saffron camp

Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee continued her attack on the BJP on Tuesday, saying that members of the saffron camp “do not know civility and decency,” as seen by the disturbance they produced during Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar’s inaugural speech in the Assembly.

Mr Dhankhar had tabled his presentation on July 2 after reading a few words of his 18-page speech, amid BJP MLA protests over post-poll violence in the state.

During her House speech, the TMC supremo also stated that the incumbent governor, who was appointed by the BJP leadership at the national level, should have been allowed to address the House by the saffron party’s MLAs in the state.

“I have seen BJP leaders like Rajnath Singh to Sushma Swaraj… This BJP, however, is different. They (BJP members) do not know culture, courtesy, decency and civility,” the Chief Minister said, after thanking the governor for the inaugural address.
