The all-important weekend of the Dasara season here and has brought along not one but three special treats for the Sandalwood patrons. It’s a particularly crucial weekend for the teams of ‘Salaga’ and ‘Kotigobba 3’ as the two films had been stuck in the “release rut”, so to speak, for many months and are now finally making their way into cinema halls. In the same vein, Darling Krishna too kicks off what could be deemed a season of releases with the romantic drama ‘[email protected]’.
‘Salaga’, as many would already be aware, marks the directorial debut of Duniya Vijay who also stars in the film as the main lead, playing the titular role. Set in the current day underworld/gangster milieu, ‘Salaga’ also stars Dhananjaya, who dons the cop uniform for the very first time in his career, and Sanjana Anand who is paired with Duniya Vijay’s character in the film. Expectations surrounding the film have been generally intense all along, especially because of the stellar success of the soundtrack composed by Charan Raj. Sreekanth K.P. serves as the producer of Salaga which releases today, on the 14th of October.
The second big release of the day is debutant Shiva Karthik’s ‘Kotigobba 3’ which stars none other than Kiccha Sudeep in the lead. Just as with ‘Salaga’, the release of ‘Kotigobba 3’ had to undergo many delays due to the pandemic but all’s back to being well as far as the Sudeep fans are concerned. The superstar reprises his role in the 2016 film ‘Kotigobba 2’ but with a new and exciting cast joining him – in the form of Madonna Sebastian, Aftab Shivdasani, and Shraddha Das – this time around. While ‘Salaga’ tells a gritty tale, ‘Kotigobba 3’ will be a bonafide entertainer that promises the snazziest of locations and some real cool action sequences. Plus, an item number of two.
And for those who like to keep things and warm this festive season, Darling Krishna and Bhavana bring together a cozy romance drama called ‘[email protected]’. Directed by Nagshekar, who has previously made successful love stories like ‘Sanju Weds Geetha’ and ‘Myna’, the film also includes Dattanna and Rishab Shetty (in a special appearance). Sandesh N. serves as the producer with Arjun Janya composing the music and Satya Hegde handling the cinematography.
