Ever since Samantha and Naga Chaitanya officially announced their separation, last Saturday, rumour mills have been working overtime to guess the reasons behind the star couple’s split. From affairs to Samantha getting an abortion as she never wanted a baby, the insinuations have been fling thick and fast for the past one week, especially in Tollywood, when SamChay were a power couple, what with Chaitanya coming from the legendary Akkineni family.
However, now, Samantha has addressed such allegations in her recent post on social media. The actress wrote on IG story, “Your emotional investment into a personal crisis has overwhelmed me. Thank you all for showing deep empathy, concern and for defending me against false rumours and stories that are being spread. They say I had affairs, never wanted children, that I am an opportunist and now that I have had abortions.”
The actress went on to add that despite this relentless attack on her by some sections of the media, she will not allow these allegations to break her spirit. “A divorce in itself is an extremely painful process. Let alone allowing me the time to heal. This attack on me has been relentless. But I promise you this, I will never allow this or anything else they say, break me,” wrote the actress.
Earlier in the day, the star had shared a post slamming the society for setting different standards for men and women on social media, and quoted author Farida D on her Instagram story. The quote read, “If matters are constantly morally questionable when done by women, but not even morally questioned when done by men — then we, as a society, fundamentally have no morals. – Farida D.”
