Parul Yadav: ‘We Should Celebrate The Absolute Mastery Of Pandit Birju Maharaj’s Craft’

The news of Kathak maestro Pandit Birju Maharaj’s sad passing has left everyone grieving. The Padma Vibhushan awardee was 83 years old at the time of his demise which occurred due to a prior kidney ailment resulting in a cardiac arrest. Many noted personalities and film celebrities have taken to social media to condole his death and also express their admiration for his mastery over the craft.

One such admirer is Kannada actor Parul Yadav who, being an avid dancer herself, expressed shock in her recent tweet and yet, urged everyone to celebrate his absolute mastery of the craft. “The joy he gave us and the legacy of the thousands of great dancers all over the world!” wrote Parul in her tweet.

Belonging to a grand lineage of Kathak dancers, Pandit Birju Maharaj has contributed to several Hindi films such as ‘Desh Ishqiya’, ‘Bajirao Mastani’, and ‘Devdas’. Bollywood actor Madhuri Dixit, who’s known for on-screen grace and mastery over the classical forms of dance, wrote a heartfelt eulogy for her “guru” and spoke of his child-like innocence.

Parul Yadav, on the other hand, has continued to remain in touch with her fans on social media and can be seen often sharing fun and stylish posts. She is also gearing up for an exciting project and is expected to soon make an announcement regarding her new production venture.
