Monsoon slows down in some north, south parts of India

Pune, Aug 3: The monsoon has been vigorous over east Rajasthan while its active over Nagaland-Manipur-Mizoram-Tripura and west Madhya Pradesh.

It has subdued over Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha, Punjab, Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Saurashtra, Kutch, Marathwada, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and south interior Karnataka.

Thunderstorm observed (from 0830 hours IST of yesterday to 0830 hours IST of today) at isolated places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Gangetic West Bengal, Bihar, Rajasthan, Assam and Meghalaya.

Rain or thundershowers have occurred at most places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, east Rajasthan, west Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Konkan and Goa, coastal and north interior Karnataka, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar Islands and at many places in Assam and Meghalaya, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat region and Lakshadweep and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu-Kasmir and Ladakh, east Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra and Kutch and Madhya Maharashtra and at isolated places in west Uttar Pradesh, west Rajasthan, Marathwada, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Rayalseema and Tamil Nadu.

Mainly dry weather prevailed in south interior Karnataka.
