Aurangabad, Aug 6: Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 327 new Covid-19 cases and 8 fatalities during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI show that out of the eight districts of the region, Beed district was the worst-affected as it recorded 212 new cases and 4 deaths, followed by Aurangabad which had 30 cases and 2 deaths, Nanded had 7 cases and single death, Osmanabad had 99 new cases, Latur recorded 23 cases, Jalna had 17 cases and Hingoli and Parbhani recorded two cases each.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 5,539 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 63,41,759.
The state also registered 187 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,33,717.
Meanwhile, 5,869 patients also recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 61,30,137.
The state’s recovery rate currently stands at 96.66 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.1 per cent.
At present, there are 74,483 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, added the health authorities.
