Director Venkat Prabhu’s ‘Maanaadu’ is one of the most anticipated films in the career of Silambarasan TR and the shooting of the film was wrapped earlier in July. Now, the makers have officially announced that the film starring Silambarasan and Kalyani Priyadarshan in lead will hit the screen for Diwali on November 4. Interestingly, Rajinikanth starrer ‘Annaatthe’ directed by Siva, will also be releasing for Diwali.
Looks like its a clast between superstar Rajinikanth and Silambarasan TR at the box office this Diwali. There have been reports that Ajith’s ‘Valimai’ might also release for Diwali, but there hasn’t been any official announcements yet. With ‘Annaatthe’ and ‘Maanaadu’ already announced, it would be tough fight at the box office if Ajith’s ‘Valimai’ directed by H Vinoth also joins the race.
Initially, ‘Maanaadu’ was all set to release on May 14, on the occasion of Eid, but got pushed due to the coronavirus pandemic situation. Later there was a buzz that the makers are planning to release the film on October 14, for the Ayudha Pooja weekend, but now, all speculations have been put to rest with this announcement.
‘Maanaadu’ has Kalyani Priyadarshan playing the leading lady with SJ Suryah, Bharathiraja, SA Chandrasekhar, Premgi Amaren, Manoj, and others in important roles. Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring the music, and the film is bankrolled by Suresh Kamatchi’s V House Productions.
