New Delhi, Aug 23: A delegation of eleven parties led by Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has left Bihar Bhawan in the National Capital to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to demand a caste-based census.
Talking to reporters before leaving for the meeting, Bihar Minister and BJP leader Janak Ram said, “We are going to meet PM today on the issue of caste-based census. Whatever decision the PM takes should be acceptable to us”.
Another leader Ajeet Sharma, who is also part of the team, said caste-based census is very important. If reservation is made transparent, society will be free of any malice. It should be implemented across the country and not just limited to Bihar, he added.
“To hold a caste-based census has been a long-standing demand of Bihar. In this regard, we are meeting the PM today,” says Hindustan Awam Morcha president and former Bihar CM Jitan Ram Manjhi.
