All is not well in the paradise called marriage and that became more evident for celebs in 2021. Be it Samantha-Naga Chaitanya or closer home Nusrat Jahan-Nikhil Jain, it’s a year of most unexpected breakups that stormed the entertainment world.
Dev has seen all these closely and whenever he’s being asked when we will see the Tolly superstar getting married to his girlfriend Rukmini Maitra he just plays with words and avoids giving a direct answer. This is in fact nothing new. Dev has always been a private person, especially with his personal life or relationship with Rukmini.
During a live show recently the ‘Golondaaz’ actor was asked about his marriage plan and Dev promptly answers with a smile, “The way marriages are getting broken these days I think staying happy is the most important thing now,” adding that, ‘I can marry any day, throw a party or host my close ones but what will happen when that marriage don’t even last 10 days?”
So, is he suffering from insecurity in relationship? Well, Dev says no and then clarifies, “Marriage is an institution and I am not mentally prepared for marriage right now. There are so many works to do right now. Also, Rukmini has just started working in Bollywood. She’s also working in Bengal. So, she can’t lose her focus. I don’t want that.”
Right now, Dev is happy with his work and busy schedule and that’s the same thing for his girlfriend Rukmini also. The ‘Tonic’ actor wants to continue like this for the time being since he believes a happy friendship is better than an unhappy marriage.
