Itanagar, Aug 14: As many as 166 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Arunachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours, taking the state’s infection tally to 51,139, while the death toll rose to 252 as one more succumbed to the disease.
Out of the new positive cases, Itanagar Capital Complex reported the highest at 41, followed by Lower Subansiri 19 and Changlang 14, as per the bulletin issued by the state Directorate of Health Services.
Of these, 78 patients are asymptomatic and 88 symptomatic.
According to the bulletin, the fresh casualty was reported from Itanagar Capital Complex. A 30-year-old woman who tested positive through rapid antigen test (RAT), passed away on Friday afternoon at DCH, Chimpu here. She died due to acute respiratory distress syndrome with Covid pneumonia. The body was handed over to the administration as per Covid SoP.
On the other hand, the recoveries tally rose to 48,598 as 271 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours. The recovery rate is over 95 percent.
Active cases tally stands at 2,289.
