Marathi cinema’s ace Kedar Shinde recently announced the biopic on his grandfather and legend of Maharashtrian folk music, actor and playwriter Shahir Sable.
On the occasion of Maharashtra Day, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray unveiled the poster of Kedar Shinde’s ‘Maharashtra Shahir’ on the grand stage at Aurangabad’s Sanskritik Krida Mandal.
The film will be produced by Kedar Shinde and will star the popular actor from the Marathi film industry, Ankush Choudhary, who will step into the role of Shahir Sable.

Legendary Krishnarao Ganpatrao Sable, popularly known as Shahir Sable was a well-known singer, writer, playwright and actor. He was the one who gave the state its unofficial anthem ‘Jai Jai Maharashtra Maza’.
The film is slated to release on April 28 2023.
