Amber Heard’s Lawyer Says She Can’t Pay $10 Million Damages To Johnny Depp

Virginia [US]: After a Virginia court found that entertainer Amber Heard stigmatized her ex, entertainer Johnny Depp, her legal counselor said she can’t pay the $10.35 million in harms.

As per The US Weekly, when inquired as to whether her client could pay the endorsed aggregate during a meeting on the ‘Today’, show on Thursday, June 2, Elaine Bredehoft replied, “Goodness, no, in no way, shape or form.”

Johnny, 58, would be granted, $10 million in compensatory harms and $5 million in reformatory harms the appointed authority declared on Wednesday, June 1. For her counterclaim, Amber, then again, was given $2 million in compensatory harms yet no correctional harms.

After the adjudicator diminished the aggregate because of a Virginia rule covering reformatory harms, Amber will just need to pay $10.35 million.

As indicated by the Entertainment Weekly, Amber expects to pursue the choice.

She took to online entertainment after the preliminary finished to communicate her sentiments.

Taking to her social media, Amber posted a long note, which said, “The disappointment I feel today is beyond words, I’m heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence, and sway of my ex-husband”

According to the ‘Aquaman’ actor, her concerns went beyond her own role in the case. “I’m even more disappointed with what this verdict means for other women. It is a setback. It sets back the clock to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke out could be publicly shamed and humiliated,” she continued. “It sets back the idea that violence against women is to be taken seriously.”

She concluded, “I believe Johnny’s attorneys succeeded in getting the jury to overlook the key issue of Freedom of Speech and ignore evidence that was so conclusive that we won in the U.K. I’m sad I lost this case. But I am sadder still that I seem to have lost a right I thought I had as an American — to speak freely and openly.”

Depp and Heard wedded in an exceptionally secret service in their Los Angeles home in 2015 in the wake of dating for a long time. Heard petitioned for legal separation from Depp on May 23, 2016, and got a transitory limiting request against him. She said Depp had actually manhandled her during their relationship, and that it happened most frequently while he was high on medications or liquor.
