Chandigarh, Aug 2: Reacting to the ongoing farmers’ movement, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab affairs incharge Jarnail Singh said the AAP is the first political party in the country, opposing the contentious farm laws at all levels since its drafting. Interacting with the media at the party headquarters here on Monday, Jarnail Singh said the AAP’s national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has given clear directions to the party leaders in Punjab and in all states, that the farmers’ movement is a pious and non-political movement for the survival of the ‘annadatas’ and the preservation of the land. “So for the further strengthening and upliftment of this movement, every leader and volunteer of the party should set aside the party’s flag and agenda and continue to support this movement at all levels with body, heart and money, until the farmers return home waving the flag of victory,” he added. The AAP leader said that this message of Arvind Kejriwal was being conveyed by the party to the leaders and volunteers at all levels. He said the Modi government should give up its stubbornness and repeal all the three anti-agriculture laws. On the occasion, Leader of Opposition Harpal Singh Cheema, MLAs Meet Hayer, Prof Baljinder Kaur, Rupinder Kaur Ruby, state general secretary Harchand Singh Barsat and state treasurer Neena Mittal were also present.
