Hyderabad, Aug 5: Telangana reported 569 new Covid-19 cases and four deaths on Saturday even as the number of active cases in the state stood at 8,582.
The total count of cases since the beginning of the pandemic last year stands at 6,48,957 and the death toll stands at 3,823, according to a bulletin issued by the Director of Public health on the status of Covid cases this evening.
A total of 657 patients were declared recovered from the virus on Friday, taking the total count of recovered patients to 6,36,552.
The overall recovery rate in the state is 98.8 percent against 97.34 per cent at national level.
Similarly, the case fatality rate (CFR) in the state stands at 0.58 percent against the national average of 1.3 per cent.
On Saturday, 1,05,201 samples were tested for the novel coronavirus and with this, Telangana has now completed testing 2.27 crore samples and has reached 6.11 lakh samples testing per million population. Reports of 1,414 samples were still awaited.
Of the 569 cases reported on Saturday, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) region reported the highest number of infections at 82 followed by 64 in Karimnagar, 51 in Warangal Urban, 40 in Khammam and 39 in Nalgonda.
The number of active containment zones in the state stood at 29 including six each in Jagtial and Karimnagar and five zones in Nalgonda.
