Rocking Star Yash is currently riding high on the success of his latest film, KGF: Chapter 2. It’s been over a month since the film was released but it continues to shatter box-office records. Now, Yash has been associated with the franchise for the past 8 years – since KGF: Chapter 1. In a recent interview, Yash spoke about his character Rocky and the Rocky Effect on the masses.
In an interview with The Week, Yash opened up about his character Rocky and the impact it has had on the masses. Let’s call it the Rocky Effect, shall we? “More than external things, what is important is what you believe in and what you want to achieve. When we break that disappointment and do something great, the whole world will respect you – that is what Rocky is all about. I am sure Rocky is in me, and I think he is in you also,” said Yash. And we couldn’t agree more.
In the same interview, the Kannada superstar opened up about being associated with the franchise for the past 8 years. “It’s been 8 years since Prashanth (Neel) and I started working on it. More than the character, it’s about the people I worked with. All of us built it from scratch. Prashanth has been a great director to work with. There is no ego. I am from a theatre background. We used to do backstage work from ironing to sweeping, and then go and act. Our ultimate goal was to entertain the audience. We have a similar team here. Everyone was doing everything for the sole purpose of entertaining the audience. Whatever I wanted to do, KGF gave me the confidence and I grew up with the right kind of people,” said Yash.
Meanwhile, the producer of KGF has confirmed that there will be a third instalment. But, before the Yash fan in you leaps, the makers also confirmed that it won’t be made anytime soon.
