From Shitalkuchi to Baghda, the West Bengal Election 2021 has witnessed a lot of bloodshed and controversy.
There are a total of 796 companies of central forces on duty for the eighth phase of the West Bengal Election 2021. Of these, 753 companies will be guarding the election booths.
Out of these 753 companies of central forces, most of the troops will be deployed in the troubled Birbhum district – the fortress of TMC leader Anubrata Mondal.
Let’s see how many central forces there are in a district in the last phase:
Birbhum – 224 companies
Murshidabad – 212 companies
Malda – 110 companies
Kolkata North – 95 companies
In the eighth phase, the total number of booths in the four districts is 11860. Of these 3906 booths are in Birbhum, 3896 in Murshidabad, 2063 in Malda and 2063 in Kolkata North.
Incidentally, a total of 1061 companies of central forces have been used in this year’s polls in the state. Of these, 653 companies will be used by the central forces in this last round of elections.
The remaining 316 companies have been handed over to the central forces. It may be mentioned that initially 125 companies of the central forces had come to West Bengal. Then, in stages, it increased and number of central forces reached 1071 companies.
