Wankhede reaches Delhi

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] : Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede, who is investigating the Mumbai cruise ship drugs case, on Monday has reached Delhi to meet Chairman National Commission for Scheduled Castes, Vijay Sampla, informed NCB officials.
Wankhede’s visit to Delhi has come after Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Nawab Malik levelled various allegations on him and accused him of using a fake certificate to secure a government job. ” He has come here to present his subject before the Commission. We will see and verify his documents,” said Subhash Ramnath Pardhi, member, National Commission for Scheduled Castes.


Nawab Malik had alleged that Sameer Wankhede was born a Muslim but he forged documents, including a caste certificate, to pass off as a Scheduled Caste (SC) person to get recruitment under quota after clearing the UPSC exams.

Sameer Wankhede submits his documents to NCSC Chairman in Delhi

Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede, who is investigating the Mumbai cruise ship drugs case, on Monday submitted his documents to the Chairman of National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) in Delhi.
“Whatever facts and documents were asked by the Commission have been provided to them today. My documents will be verified and the Commission’s Chairman will reply on it soon,” Wankhede told the media after meeting with Chairman of NCSC, Vijay Sampla. After receiving Wankhede’s documents, Sampla said, “Documents provided by Sameer Wankhede will be verified with Maharashtra government.”
He further stated, “No action will be taken against Wankhede if the documents are found valid.”
Earlier, Nawab Malik had alleged that Sameer Wankhede was born a Muslim but he forged documents, including a caste certificate, to pass off as a Scheduled Caste (SC) person to get recruitment under quota after clearing the UPSC exams.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India] : Following National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) Vice-Chairman Arun Haldar’s visit to NCB officer Sameer Wankhede’s residence in the alleged fake caste certificate matter, Maharashtra Cabinet Minister Nawab Malik on Monday said that he will complain to the President against Haldar reportedly giving Wankhede a clean chit.
Addressing a press conference in Mumbai, Malik claimed, “Yesterday, Chairman of the National Scheduled Castes Commission and BJP’s leader Arun Haldar visited Sameer Wankhede’s residence and gave him a clean chit. He should have conducted an investigation first and submitted a detailed report. We will complain about him to the President.” The minister further claimed that Haldar’s visit raises numerous questions, “Why he was in so hurry to give him a clean chit and clear the allegations without any investigation and what was his motive behind it?”


Earlier, Malik, who has been levelling various allegations against Wankhede since the Mumbai drugs-on-cruise case came to the fore, accused him of using a fake birth certificate to secure a government job.
He had alleged that Wankhede was born a Muslim but he forged documents, including a caste certificate, to pass off as a Scheduled Caste (SC) person to get recruitment under quota after clearing the UPSC exams.
