Vijay: ‘I Am Confident that ‘K.G.F: Chapter 2′ Will Match Expectations’

Producer Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale films is a confident man, ahead of the release of KGF: Chapter 2, the second film in the franchise

Vijay says, “KGF: Chapter 1 was well received by the people. Apart from the release in cinema halls, the release on OTT and television also created anticipation for the second part. The teaser and trailer of KGF: Chapter 2 further raised expectations across the nation. I think the credit for this goes to every single technician, artiste and the marketing team that has gone across the country to promote the film.”

Looking back at his production house’s journey, Vijay recalls, “We began our journey with Ninnindale, starring Puneeth Rajkumar sir. We are now seeing our sixth film release in eight years. Each film has laid the foundation for a bigger milestone, and with KGF: Chapter 2, it is a worldwide release. For this, I credit Yash and Prashanth Neel. I am confident that our film will match people’s expectations.”

While the production house is working on a big film like Salaar, Vijay says they will essentially remain a Kannada production house. “We will spotlight our language, culture, artistes and technicians. We have region-specific films like Kantara and Raghavendra Stores lined up. At the same time, there is Salaar, a pan-Indian film that is a collaboration with Prabhas. Around 40 per cent of the film is complete and we plan to release it next year. This makes it our hattrick, pan-Indian film with Prashanth. There’s also a pan-Indian film with Yash in the pipeline.

We work like a family and it gives us immense joy to work with family members again,” he adds.
