Varun Tej’s ‘Ghani’ Receives Special Concession From Telangana Government

Varun Tej’s Ghani, which is a few days away from release, received a special concession from the Telangana government. The film will release in theatres on April 8. The government agreed to reduce the prices for Ghani.

Earlier, ticket prices were hiked for SS Rajamouli’s RRR. Though it helped RRR, small and medium-budget films did not benefit from the new order. Hence, the Telangana government decided to reduce the ticket prices for Ghani.

Varun Tej’s Ghani was supposed to release in theatres earlier this year. However, the film was postponed due to the novel coronavirus pandemic and continuous releases of big-budget films. The film will hit the theatres on April 8.

On April 4, the Telangana government announced that they will reduce the price of tickets for Varun Tej’s Ghani. As per the latest order, the tickets are priced at Rs 200 + GST in multiplexes and Rs 150 + GST in single screens.

Before the release of RRR, the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh governments increased the price rates. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the restrictions, the cinema industry was in severe crisis. The increased ticket prices helped RRR’s theatrical run.

Directed by Kiran Korrapati, Ghani is a family drama in which Varun Tej will be seen essaying the role of a boxer. The film also features Nadhiya, Upendra, Jagapathi Babu, Suneil Shetty, Saiee Manjrekar, Naresh and Naveen Chandra in supporting roles. Allu Bobby and Siddu Mudda have joined hands to bankroll Ghani.
