Former Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan awarded Padma Bhushan posthumously

New Delhi [India] : Former Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan was awarded the Padma Bhushan posthumously on Tuesday at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.The award was received by his son Chirag Paswan. Ram Vilas Paswan passed away on October 8, 2020, from a heart ailment. Ram Vilas Paswan was Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution in the Narendra Modi government. He was also a minister in the previous NDA government. Paswan was first elected to the Lok Sabha in 1977 on a Janata Party ticket from Hajipur in Bihar.President Ram Nath Kovind on Monday posthumously honoured former Union Ministers George Fernandes, Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj with Padma Vibhushan, the country’s second-highest civilian award. Minister launches AIR at kargil

Kargil (Ladakh) [India], September 25 : Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Youth and Sports Affairs Anurag Singh Thakur on Saturday launched 10KW transmitter of Doordarshan and All India Radio (AIR) at Himbotingla area of Kargil.The Union Minister said that Kargil and its surrounding areas will benefit from the country’s highest transmitter installed at an altitude of 13,300 feet. Speaking to ANI on this occasion, Anurag Singh Thakur said, “Himbotingla is about 35 km from Kargil. The areas of Kargil and Dras adjoin it. Yadgir (Karnataka) [India]: Karnataka Police has suspended three constables for not taking action after gunshots were fired during the Jan Ashirwad Yatra of Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers, Bhagwanth Khuba. Yadgir Superintendent of Police (SP) Vedmurthy told that the three constables were suspended on Thursday for not acting legally after being present at the celebratory rally. “Veeresh, Santhosh, and Mehboob from Yadgir rural police station were suspended on August 19 for not acting legally after being at present at the spot. Gunshots were fired by the supporters and followers of former minister Baburao Chinchansur. New Delhi [India]: In view of the prevailing COVID-19 situation, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will be visiting Kerala on August 16 to review the Covid-19 situation. Nine Hindu properties restored in Kashmir since abrogation of Art 370: Union Home Ministry

New Delhi, Aug 11: Hindus who migrated out of Kashmir and are returning post abrogation of Article 370 can approach District Magistrate for restoration of their ancestral property if it has been encroached and nine properties have been restored so far, Union Home Ministry said in a written reply to Rajya Sabha. In a question to Rajya Sabha, Shiv Sena MP Anil Desai asked the government to tell whether it is taking steps to restore ancestral property of Hindus who had to run away from Kashmir in the wake of terrorist violence there. Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai replied in affirmative, and said after abrogation of Article 370, a total of 520 migrants have returned to Kashmir for taking up the jobs under the Prime Minister’s Development Package-2015.
