PM Modi to transfer over Rs 700 crore to housing scheme beneficiaries in Tripura

New Delhi [India] : Prime Minister Narendra Modi will transfer the first instalment of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) to more than 1.47 lakh beneficiaries of Tripura on Sunday via video conferencing. The Prime Minister’s Office said that over Rs 700 crore will be credited directly to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries on the occasion. Following Modi’s intervention, taking into account the unique geo-climatic condition of Tripura, the definition of ‘kuccha’ house has been changed specifically for the state, which has enabled such a large number of beneficiaries living in ‘kuccha’ houses to get assistance to construct a ‘pucca’ house, it added.

Agartala (Tripura) [India]: Principal Secretary to Tripura Health and Family Welfare Department, JK Sinha on Monday informed that over 80,000 eligible beneficiaries of the COVID-19 vaccine did not turn up for the second dose after the stipulated period of 84 days in the state.The state government has started the ‘Knock the Door’ programme to reach out to the people who did not turn up for the second dose. North Tripura (Tripura) [India]: Section 144, prohibiting the gathering of more than four people, was imposed in the Dharmanagar district of north Tripura on Wednesday following violent clashes during a Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) rally.“Dharmanagar Administration imposes 144 CrPC in the district to maintain peace and harmony in the district,” SDM Dharmanagar, North Tripura said. Tripura: BSF jawans killed

Dhalai (Tripura) [India], August 3 : Two Border Security Force (BSF) personnel, including a Sub Inspector, were killed in an exchange of fire between a patrolling party and some militants in the Dhalai district of Tripura on Tuesday morning.According to BSF, the encounter began around 6.30 a.m. in the general area of Border Outpost R.C. Nath in the Dhalai district. Tripura sends Kew variety of pineapple and organic turmeric to Kolkata

Agartala: Continuing the export efforts of the Tripura government, the horticulture department has dispatched a consignment of 1000 kilograms of Kew variety pineapples and 1,800 kilograms of organic turmeric to Kolkata by Sealdah express. The officials said producers of the Unokoti district were paid Rs 14 per piece of pineapple and Rs 19 for each kilogram of organic turmeric. The purchaser Big Basket has executed the deal with the help of Sikkim State Cooperative Supply Marketing Federation Ltd, an organic retail agency. Unokoti Organic Producer Group Ltd, a group of 512 farmers of the district had last week also sent one metric ton of pineapples and five metric tons of organic turmeric. Pratima Bhowmik gets Ministry

Pratima Bhowmik is the first permanent resident of the north-eastern state to get a berth in the new Union Cabinet.  52 year-old Pratima Bhowmik has become the first female MP from Tripura to get a berth in the new Union Cabinet. She is also the first permanent resident of the north-eastern state to do so, as she took oath as a Union Minister on Wednesday. Pratima Bhowmik, a science graduate, has been a BJP activist and leader since 1991. In 1998 and 2018, she fought for the Assembly from the Dhanpur constituency, losing both times to former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar.
