LinkedIn likely to launch audio events later in January

Washington [US] (ANI): Microsoft-owned LinkedIn live audio feature it had been testing for some time now will reportedly debut later this month in beta as part of the company’s new events platform.
LinkedIn had last March said that it was for its live audio feature doing “early tests to create a unique audio experience connected to your professional identity.” According to The Verge, unlike other companies with audio chat features, such as Twitter’s Spaces, LinkedIn doesn’t plan to include ticketed events, where organizers could charge for access.
LinkedIn’s all-virtual events platform will eventually include moderated panel-style discussions, roundtables, and fireside chats, with the formats left up to the event hosts.
The virtual events will be built on LinkedIn’s in-house tools, and event participants will potentially be able to converse with each other during and after the live events. The video version is expected to be available later in the spring.
While Clubhouse drew in a big audience during the pandemic with its invite-only audio events (it’s now open to all, even without an invitation to join), it’s been overshadowed in recent months by competitors from established social platforms.
Twitter began testing its Spaces to a limited audience in December of 2020 (and made it more widely available last year), Spotify introduced its live audio app, Greenroom, and Facebook added its Live Audio Rooms in June and Discord launched its Stage Channels last March. (Image source: Unsplash)

Washington [US]: The vivo Y21T expected to debut in India on January 3 is already official in Indonesia. However, it’s not an entirely new smartphone. It’s actually a Y33s with a different chip, screen, and selfie camera.
According to GSM Arena, the vivo Y33s is powered by the Helio G80 SoC, while the V21T has the Snapdragon 680 at the helm. The diagonal of the 6.58″ LCD has been reduced to 6.51″, and so is the resolution, from FullHD+ to HD+. OnePlus 10 Pro rumored to launch on January 11

Shenzhen [China]: While it was already confirmed by OnePlus’s CEO that the upcoming OnePlus 10 Pro will launch next month, some rumours suggested the phone will be made available during the first week of the month.
According to GSM Arena, today a purported promo video for the device leaked in China and it brings the revelation of the supposed exact announcement date. If this video is really a leaked promo video and not someone exercising their wishful thinking abilities, then the official launch would be January 11.
Needless to say, since the video is intended for the Chinese market, the January 11 date, even if accurate, is likely to only refer to the phone’s Chinese launch. This may come before, or even after, the global launch.
The OnePlus 10 Pro was spotted in a benchmark database earlier today and was certified with 80W fast charging yesterday. It should have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset at the helm, a 50 MP main rear camera with Hasselblad branding, and a 6.7″ curved LTPO 2.0 AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate.
As per GSM Arena, past rumours suggest that the battery capacity would be 5,000 mAh. The phone should hopefully run Android 12 out of the gate.

World’s most powerful space telescope ready to launch

Washington [US]: James Webb Space Telescope, the largest and most powerful space telescope ever constructed, will lift off on Christmas. The USD 10bn project spanning over three decades, a collaboration between NASA, the European Space Agency, and the Canadian Space Agency, hopes to look further back in time than ever before – to find out more about the creation of the first stars and the beginnings of our Universe.
After several technical and weather delays the James Webb Space Telescope will take off on a European Ariane rocket from French Guiana, NASA announced.
“Webb is an extraordinary mission,” said NASA administrator Bill Nelson.
“It’s a shining example of what we can accomplish when we dream big. We’ve always known that this project would be a risky endeavour. But, of course, when you want a big reward, you have to usually take a big risk.”
The truck-sized telescope aims to peer into the cosmos and farther back in time.
Astronomers will also use the new telescope to probe black holes at the centers of galaxies, search for the chemical signatures of life on extrasolar planets and, closer to home, study the frozen oceans on moons at the edge of our own solar system.
The telescope will answer questions about the solar system, study exoplanets in new ways and look deeper into the universe than we’ve ever been able to.
Once the telescope launches, it will travel for about a month until it reaches an orbit about 1 million miles (1.6 million kilometres) away from Earth.
Plans call for the spacecraft to orbit the sun at this spot, called the second Lagrange point (L2).
The telescope comes equipped with a segmented mirror that can extend 21 feet and 4 inches (6.5 meters) — a massive length that will allow the mirror to collect more light from the objects it observes once the telescope is deployed in space.
The more light the mirror can collect, the more details the telescope can observe. Over the course of 29 days, Webb will unfold its mirrors and unfurl a protective sun shield the size of a tennis court. This process involves thousands of parts that must work perfectly in the right sequence.
Fortunately, each step can be controlled from the ground in case there are issues.
The concept for the telescope was first imagined as a successor to Hubble at a workshop in 1989, and construction on Webb first began in 2004.
Since then, thousands of scientists, technicians and engineers from 14 countries have spent 40 million hours building the telescope.
Now, Webb could help researchers understand the origins of the universe and begin to answer key questions about our existence, such as where we came from and if we’re alone in the cosmos.

Vivo V23 series to launch in India in January

New Delhi [India]: New reports have confirmed that the Vivo V23 series will definitely debut in India next month.
As per GSM Arena, the V23 series will “come with India’s First 50MP Eye Autofocus Dual Selfie camera,” ruling out the launch of the V23e or the V23e 5G since both feature single front-facing cameras. It remains unclear how many smartphones the V23 series will consist of in India, but it will include the V23 and V23 Pro at next month’s event since an official promo video was aired in India during a sports match teasing both phones as “coming soon.”
The short clip showed a Sunshine Gold-colored smartphone with a curved screen and three cameras on the back, and towards the end, we see two phones – one in grey colour and the other in gold.
The former also has a curved screen, with the notch housing two cameras, while the latter has a triple camera system headlined by a 64MP unit. Both smartphones are 5G-ready.
As per GSM Arena, the V23 Pro was initially expected to be a global version of the freshly announced China-exclusive S12 Pro, but it seems the V23 Pro won’t be a complete clone of the S12 Pro despite having a similar design and 50MP dual selfie camera since the latter comes with a 108MP primary unit.
The Vivo V23 Pro is also rumoured to be touted as “India’s slimmest 3D curve display smartphone at 7.36mm” at launch, and we can expect to hear more about it as we inch closer to the new year.

OnePlus 10 Pro confirmed to launch in January 2022

Shenzhen [China]: Popular Chinese tech giant OnePlus will launch the OnePlus 10 Pro in January next year.
As per GSM Arena, the vanilla 10 model is also expected to be announced alongside. The CEO and co-founder of OnePlus, Pete Lau, revealed the launch date of the brand’s upcoming flagship on Tuesday. The news was confirmed via a post made by the executive on the Chinese micro-blogging site Weibo.
The OnePlus 10 Pro will arrive with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Gen1 chipset. According to previous leaks and rumours, the OnePlus 10 Pro will have an improved 32MP selfie camera. There’s also word of a 6.7-inch LPTO QHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate with the selfie camera punch-hole cut out in the same upper corner.
The 10 Pro will feature 12GB of LPDDR5 Ram and either 128GB or 256GB of storage. The triple camera system is said to consist of a similar setup as the 9 Pro with a 48MP main camera, 50MP ultrawide, and an 8MP 3.3X telephoto camera. Rumours point to a 5,000 mAh battery, supposedly supporting 80W fast wired charging and 50W fast wireless charging.
The OnePlus 10 Pro will launch in China next month, but there’s not yet any word on when the new flagship would arrive in global markets – that was rumoured to be April.
OnePlus will announce the pricing and availability details of the OnePlus 10 Pro at the time of launch. However, going by its specifications, it could cost around CNY 5,500 (roughly Rs 65,000).

Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 4G acquires certification

Beijing [China]: The Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 4G was launched in China as a cheaper alternative to its 5G namesake, and now a device with the same moniker is being certified for global sales.
According to GSM Arena, the company received approval from at least two authorities, IMDA in Singapore and the EEC, which is the overseeing organization for several markets in the Eurasian Economic Area. Tipsters suggest, this new Redmi Note 11 4G phone will have a Snapdragon 680 chipset. It is highly unlikely to get relaunched with the Helio G88 platform since the very same phone is sold in multiple countries under the name Redmi 10 (with one extra 2 MP camera). Other changes might be the memory combinations, which are always different for different markets.
As per GSM Arena, if all the specs sans the fourth camera remain the same, we should expect a 6.5″ LCD, 50 MP main cam and a massive 5,000 mAh battery with 18W charging and some reverse wired charging as well.

Huawei’s P50 Pocket to launch this month

Shenzhen [China]: Huawei is going to announce a new foldable phone later this month, called the Huawei P50 Pocket.
According to The Verge, unlike its previous Mate X foldables, which fold from a device the size of a tablet into a smartphone, the P50 Pocket has a clamshell design that folds out to the size of a smartphone. It’s a similar design to Samsung’s Z Flip devices or the Motorola Razr. As per reports, leaked pictures of the P50 Pocket make it look like a stylish little foldable. It appears to have a similar dual-ring camera bump to the Huawei P50, but its lower ring has been repurposed to work as a small external screen, which appears to be able to show notifications or work as a camera viewfinder.
As per The Verge, the phone has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security, and available colours include silver and gold.
Huawei is of course no stranger to foldable devices and has previously released the Mate X, Mate XS, and Mate X2. But these use a folding form-factor that some have compared to a hotdog bun. In contrast, the new P50 Pocket looks to be using what’s been called a hamburger-style design.
The source only mentions a Chinese launch, and it’s unclear if or when the P50 Pocket could see a global release.
Huawei is yet to offer its latest flagship smartphone, the P50, outside of China following its launch in July, and the company is still subject to US sanctions that both limit its ability to source hardware components and mean it can’t preinstall Google’s apps and services on its phones.

Vivo V23 Pro to come out next year in January

Washington [US]: The vivo V23 series is right around the corner, and the first phone of the lineup will be the V23 Pro, which as per sources will launch on January 4, 2022, in India.
According to GSM Arena, it will also precede the vanilla vivo V23, scheduled for “later”. There are no specs known about any of the V23 phones, but it’s expected that there will be at least three members of the series – V23, V23 Pro, and V23e, with the latter already selling in Thailand. The manufacturer is planning to introduce the trio in India with 5G, which would be a first on this market – so far vivo launched the V phones with LTE-only chips and modems.
The vivo V23 Pro is expected to have an OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, the latest Android 11 with FunTouch on top, and an impressive selfie camera.
The V21 series was capped at 33W fast charging, but since the V23e has 44W, the same 11V/4A standard is expected to hit the vanilla and Pro phones too, as per GSM Arena.

OnePlus Nord CE 2 may launch in India soon

Shenzhen [China]: OnePlus will soon add a new member to its mid-range Nord series in India. OnePlus Nord CE 5G was announced in June this year, and you can expect the successor to launch early next year.
As per 91mobiles, the handset might get unveiled around January or February 2022 in India, with a Dimensity 900 SoC replacing the Snapdragon 750G found in the predecessor. The same 6.4-inch 90Hz AMOLED panel is expected to make an appearance while the memory variants will go up to 12GB/256GB configurations, so it’s safe to assume that the base one will still be 6GB/128GB.
The camera setup will be largely the same – a 64MP main camera joined by an 8MP ultrawide unit and a 2MP depth sensor. The same 4,500 mAh battery is said to be on board, but this time around, it will support 65W fast charging compared to 30W on the current version.
It’s also being reported that there won’t be any drastic changes to the appearance and the Nord CE 2 will retain the plastic frame and Gorilla Glass sheets on the front and back.
It is believed to be priced between INR 24,000 and INR 28,000. That’s right around USD 315 to USD 370 but accounting for various import taxes and shipment costs around the world, the cited price range might not apply for all markets.

Seoul [South Korea]: South Korean tech giant Samsung’s upcoming smartphone Samsung Galaxy S21 FE, which is set to be launched soon, might debut with One UI 4.0 based on Google’s latest operating system Android 12.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 FE won’t be much different from the regular S21 in terms of both looks and innards. The company had initially published some support pages for the unreleased handset and besides a larger battery and changes to the camera configuration, there are plenty of similarities.
There’s nothing concrete about the upcoming phone’s pricing right now, reported Android Police.

Realme 9 series tipped to consist of four models

New Delhi [India]: The Realme 9 series will reportedly include four smartphones – Realme 9, Realme 9 Pro, Realme 9i, and Realme 9 Max/Pro+.
Realme VP Mr Madhav Sheth, in an interview with GSM Arena in September, revealed that the company had to change its plans this year due to chipset shortage and the Realme 9 series’ launch got pushed to 2022. While Mr Sheth didn’t divulge anything else about the Realme 9 series, sources suggest that the lineup will launch in India in Q1 2022.
The last variant will be a first for the number series since Realme is yet to launch a number series smartphone with the Max or Pro+ moniker. The former is not new to Realme, though, since the phone maker launched the Realme X7 Max 5G in India a few months ago, which is actually a rebranded Realme GT Neo available in China.
Circling back to the Realme 9 lineup, as per GSM Arena, Realme plans to launch all four models in India next February, but we might also see the young brand announce the phones at two different events.
We don’t know much about the Realme 9 series right now, but rumours have it that the Pro and Max/Pro+ models will come with the Snapdragon 870 SoC and 120Hz AMOLED screens, and you can also expect them to feature 108MP primary cameras.

Google Pixel 6a render leaks surface on the internet, reveal Pixel 6-like design

Washington [US]: Google Pixel 6a is reportedly in the works. The renders of the rumoured mid-range Pixel 6a have been revealed in leaks online.
As per GSM Arena, the design is in line with the current Pixel 6 and 6 Pro sporting a punch-hole display up front and a visor on the back for its dual-cam setup. The OLED display on the Pixel 6a is said to measure 6.2-inches. At 152.2 x 71.8 x 8.7mm Pixel 6a would be noticeably more compact than the regular Pixel 6 which measures at 158.6 x 74.8 x 8.9mm. The rest of the spec sheet should include a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL GN1 sensor for the main cam, 6/8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
The chipset is speculated to be either the Google Tensor SoC like on the Pixel 6 duo or the Snapdragon 778G.
One thing that seems to be missing is a headphone jack, which would make Pixel 6a the first A-series phone from Google without a headphone jack.
Android 12 will cover the software side and the phone will most likely come with at least three years of software support from Google.

The back sports a triple camera setup with a 50MP main sensor and two auxiliary modules coming in at 5MP and 2MP.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4, Z Flip4 specs and details leak

Seoul [South Korea]: Korean tech giant Samsung, which recently launched its latest foldable devices, Galaxy Z Fold3 5G and Galaxy Z Flip3 5G, has already started working on its next-generation foldable smartphones.
As per GSM Arena, Samsung has started working on the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4, and the first rumoured information about these has now been leaked out of Korea. The Galaxy Z Fold4 is said to come with an improved under-display camera tech, and this time around both selfie cams (on the inside screen as well as on the outside one) will be of this nature.
The rear cameras are expected to be improved as well, although we don’t yet know what exactly that means. The Fold4 should also have a new hinge, which will make it lighter than its predecessor, and there’s also going to be improved water and dust resistance.
The battery capacity won’t change much compared to the Fold3, and the release time frame should be eerily similar to that of the previous generation.
Speaking of Flip4, there are prototypes in development both with an under-display selfie camera, as well as with the traditional hole punch – looks like Samsung hasn’t decided which way to go yet.
The company is also reportedly considering whether to improve the hinge in a similar fashion to the Fold4. The Flip4 will also get improved water and dust resistance, and the same battery capacity and external display size as the Flip3. The Flip4 should launch alongside the Fold4 in the second half of 2022.
It goes without saying that you should take all of this with a pinch of salt, as it’s the first rumour on the matter, and the development of these two devices is not very advanced yet.
However, it’s interesting to get the first glimpse of what to expect from Samsung’s 2022 foldable handsets.

“Mahila hoon lad sakti hoon”

New Delhi [India] : Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will launch the party’s 100 days action plan for the “Adhi Abadi”, an outreach programme for women voters in Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday.
Priyanka Gandhi arrived in Chitrakoot’s Ram Ghat today to launch the programme. The Congress general secretary is betting high by announcing that 40 per cent tickets will be given to women in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections. The Congress leader has also made big promises to woo women voters and for which a separate manifesto has been prepared.
Some of the key promises include smartphone and two-wheelers for college-going girls, three cylinders for free for housewives, free travel for women in government buses, an honorarium of Rs 10,000 per month to ASHA and Anganwadi workers, and old age-widow pension of Rs 1000 per month.
To give an edge to this mission, the Uttar Pradesh Congress has prepared an action plan for the next 100 days. There are about 7 crore women voters in the state and Priyanka Gandhi’s banking on this significant portion of the electorate.
According to sources, the Congress is also going to commence a big public relations campaign to reach out to four crore women voters in the next 100 days. A brigade of around 8,000 woman volunteers has been assigned for the task with the slogan “Mahila hoon lad sakti hoon”.
As many as 150 professionals are working on this campaign. The brigade will reach about 2 lakh women daily and convey the promises of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to them.
Congress has prepared one crore pink silicone bands and attractive stickers for the campaign. Incidents of crime against women and the issue of inflation will also be raised during the campaign.
At present, there are about 7 crore women voters in the state. About 4 crore women had voted in the last assembly elections. Interestingly, the women voters turnout was 4 per cent more 63 per cent as compared to 59 per cent of men. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections also, women voters turnout had been 1 per cent more than men.
According to Congress strategists, about 60 per cent of the women voters are in the age group of 18 to 35. The party has a special eye on this 60 per cent youth.
To popularize the campaign, there is also a plan to organize a marathon for girls, the winners of which will be given scooty. The promotional campaign will be run in shopping malls and girls’ colleges. There are also plans to form an influencer team of 1,000 women professionals like women doctors, lawyers and 5,000 mobile units.
Congress’ Digital team will send daily reports from every district to the Central Control Room. Data from the control room will be sent to the call center. A call center is running in Lucknow. Social media campaigns will be run on WhatsApp and Facebook.
Congress is focusing on 100 seats out of the total 403 Assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh. According to sources, a target has been set to contact every woman 10 times in these seats.
Apart from the outreach campaign, Congress will organize 100 town halls that is special dialogue meetings across the state. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will address 10 town halls just like Chitrakoot the event to be held today.
For the last 30 years, the Congress party has been failing in the social engineering in Uttar Pradesh. No caste is the party’s core vote bank. In such a situation, an electoral blueprint has been prepared to capitalize on the image of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra among women.
Congress feels that if its gamble on the women’s card is successful, then its numbers can be improved. With this hope, the party has designed this large-scale outreach campaign keeping half the population in view.

The phone will be powered by either the Snapdragon 888 or the Exynos 2100, depending on the market. It will be offered for a “great price”, in white, Lavender, Cream, and black.

PIO Raja Chari led NASA’s SpaceX Crew-3 astronauts headed to International Space Station

Washington [US] : NASA’s SpaceX Crew-3 astronaut team led by PIO (Person of India Origin) Raja Chari are in orbit following their launch to the International Space Station on the third commercial crew rotation mission aboard the microgravity laboratory.
The international crew of astronauts lifted off at 9:03 pm EST Wednesday from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket propelled the Crew Dragon Endurance spacecraft with NASA astronauts Tom Marshburn, Kayla Barron, PIO Raja Chari as well as ESA (European Space Agency) astronaut Matthias Maurer, into orbit to begin a six-month science mission on the space station.
Chari is commander of the Crew Dragon spacecraft and the Crew-3 mission. He is responsible for all phases of flight, from launch to re-entry. He also will serve as an Expedition 66 flight engineer aboard the station. This will be the first spaceflight for Chari, who was selected as a NASA astronaut candidate in 2017.
He was born in Milwaukee, but considers Cedar Falls, Iowa, his hometown. He is a colonel in the US Air Force and joins the mission with extensive experience as a test pilot. He has accumulated more than 2,500 hours of flight time during his career.
Marshburn is the pilot of the Crew Dragon spacecraft and second-in-command for the mission. He is responsible for spacecraft systems and performance. Once aboard station, he will serve as an Expedition 66 flight engineer, and is scheduled to assume command of station for Expedition 67. Marshburn is a Statesville, North Carolina, native who became an astronaut in 2004.
Prior to serving in the astronaut corps, the medical doctor served as flight surgeon at NASA Johnson and later became medical operations lead for the International Space Station. The Crew-3 mission will be his third visit to the space station, having flown on three different spacecraft, and his second long-duration mission. Marshburn previously served as a crew member of STS-127 in 2009 flying aboard NASA’s Space Shuttle Endeavour, and Expedition 34/35, which concluded in 2013, using a Russian Soyuz spacecraft.
Barron is a mission specialist for Crew-3. She will work closely with the commander and pilot to monitor the spacecraft during the dynamic launch and re-entry phases of flight. Once aboard the station, she will become a flight engineer for Expedition 66.
Barron was born in Pocatello, Idaho, but considers Richland, Washington, her hometown. She earned a bachelor’s degree in systems engineering from the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, in 2010, and a master’s degree in nuclear engineering from the University of Cambridge, in England, in 2011, where she was a Gates Cambridge Scholar.
Barron earned her submarine warfare officer qualification and deployed three times while serving aboard the USS Maine. Her current rank in the US Navy is a Lt Cmdr. At the time of her selection as an astronaut candidate, in 2017, she was serving as the flag aide to the superintendent of the US Naval Academy. Crew-3 will be Barron’s first spaceflight.
Maurer also will be a mission specialist for Crew-3, working with the commander and pilot to monitor the spacecraft during the dynamic launch and re-entry phases of flight. He also will become a long-duration crew member aboard the space station. Like Chari and Barron, he will be making his first trip to space with the Crew-3 mission. Maurer comes from Sankt Wendel, in the German state of Saarland. Before becoming an astronaut, Maurer held a number of engineering and research roles, both in a university setting and at ESA.
In 2016, Maurer spent 16 days on an undersea mission as part of NASA’s Extreme Environment Mission Operations space analog.
This mission is the first spaceflight for astronauts Chari, Barron, and Maurer, and the third for Marshburn. Marshburn is the sixth person to launch from Earth on three different spacecraft.
During Crew Dragon’s flight, SpaceX will monitor a series of automatic spacecraft maneuvers from its mission control center in Hawthorne, California, and NASA teams will monitor space station operations throughout the flight from the Mission Control Center at the agency’s Johnson Space Center in Houston.
“With Raja, Thomas, Kayla, and Mattias on their way to the International Space Station just days after Crew-2’s return, we’re seeing the power of American ingenuity right before our eyes,” Nelson said.
He added, “NASA’s partnership with SpaceX is not only critical for cutting-edge research, but also for international collaboration. The space station brings together nations around the world for the benefit of all. Godspeed, Crew-3 – I can’t wait to see all that you accomplish.”
The Crew Dragon Endurance will dock autonomously to the forward port of the station’s Harmony module around 7:10 pm Thursday, November 11. NASA Television, the NASA app, and the agency’s website are providing ongoing live coverage through docking, hatch opening, and the ceremony to welcome the crew aboard the orbital outpost.
“Ensuring our crews have safe transportation and continued access to space is an enormous responsibility,” said Steve Stich, manager with NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. “We know the crew is excited to get on station and settle into their long-duration mission. The NASA and SpaceX team remains vigilant in support of their safe arrival and eventual return to Earth.”
Chari, Marshburn, Barron, and Maurer will join the Expedition 66 crew of NASA astronaut Mark Vande Hei and cosmonauts Anton Shkaplerov and Pyotr Dubrov of Roscosmos. Crew-3 is the second commercial crew mission to fly an ESA astronaut.
“It is always thrilling to watch a rocket launch, especially when an international crew of astronauts is sitting atop it. Matthias Maurer is the second ESA astronaut to be launched in a Crew Dragon spacecraft under the US Commercial Crew Program,” said Josef Aschbacher, ESA director-general.
He added, “We are delighted to see him fly alongside NASA astronauts to the International Space Station, continuing a long history of international collaboration in space for the benefit of Earth. On behalf of ESA, I’d like to wish all Crew-3 astronauts a productive and enjoyable mission.”
The Crew-3 astronauts will spend approximately six months aboard the space station conducting new and exciting scientific research in areas such as materials science, health technologies, and plant science to prepare for human exploration beyond low-Earth orbit and to benefit life on Earth.
The Crew-3 mission continues NASA’s efforts to restore and maintain American leadership in human spaceflight. Regular, long-duration commercial crew rotation missions enable NASA to continue the important research and technology investigations taking place aboard the station.
Such research benefits people on Earth and lays the groundwork for future exploration of the Moon and Mars, starting with the agency’s Artemis missions, which include landing the first woman and person of colour on the lunar surface.

Samsung’s Galaxy A33 5G rumoured to launch early next year in four colours

Washington [US]: Korean tech giant Samsung’s Galaxy A33 5G has just broken into the rumour mill with a few details about its colour options.
According to GSM Arena, similarly to the upcoming Galaxy A53, the Galaxy A33 5G will be available in Black, White, Light Blue, and Orange, the latter will seemingly be replacing the Lavender variant of the current-gen Galaxy A series phones. ‘iMac Pro’ likely to be released in 2022

Washington [US]: The next-generation iMac, which is currently in the works, could possibly be called the “iMac Pro”.
As per Mac Rumors, the device will feature the same M1 Pro and M1 Max chips that Apple introduced with the MacBook Pro models, and there could possibly be “an added configuration.” Apple is said to be using the “Pro” naming to differentiate the upcoming iMac from the 24-inch iMac that was released earlier this year.
As it will use the M1 Pro and Max chips, Apple considers it a “Pro” device and is calling it the iMac Pro internally.
As per sources, the iMac will feature a 27-inch mini-LED display with ProMotion technology, though some prior rumours have indicated that the next-generation iMac will have a larger display.
Unlike the 24-inch iMac, the “iMac Pro” will feature dark bezels, and bezel size could be slimmed down.
Design-wise, it could look similar to the 24-inch iMac and the Pro Display XDR, and Apple has apparently tested Face ID for the machine, but this is not a confirmed feature.
The base model iMac will feature 16GB memory and 512GB of storage, and all models will be equipped with an HDMI port, an SD card slot, and several USB-C/Thunderbolt ports, similar to the MacBook Pro. Apple is also said to be including an Ethernet port on the power adapter.
According to sources, the iMac will have a starting price at or over USD 2,000, and it will be launching in the first half of 2022. The upcoming “iMac Pro” will replace the current Intel-based 27-inch iMac models.
We haven’t heard much about Apple’s larger iMac, but sources have confirmed that such a machine is in the works. Apple reportedly paused work on the bigger iMac to work on the 24-inch model, but now that the 24-inch iMac is out, development can resume.
According to rumours, Apple is working on a new 27-inch iMac with a mini-LED display and ProMotion display technology.

Microsoft rolling out Windows 11 for more PCs this week

Washington [US]: After an initial launch to mostly new PCs earlier this month, American tech conglomerate Microsoft is gradually making the free Windows 11 upgrade available to more existing and eligible devices this week.
According to The Verge, the company has said, “The availability of Windows 11 has been increased and we are leveraging our latest generation machine learning model to offer the upgrade to an expanded set of eligible devices. We will continue to train our machine learning model throughout the phased rollout to deliver a smooth upgrade experience.” For those who have been waiting for the Windows 11 upgrade to appear in Windows Update, they might find the above prompt this week.
Microsoft hasn’t provided a list of devices that are now being offered the Windows 11 upgrade, but users will only be able to obtain the update through Windows Update if their PC meets the minimum system requirements.
If you still don’t see the prompt and want to skip the waiting line, Microsoft offers an easy way to upgrade early.
As per The Verge, there are also ways to install Windows 11 on unsupported CPUs, too. Microsoft doesn’t recommend it and you might not receive security updates in the future, but the workaround is very easy without having to reinstall Windows.

New MacBook Pros include improved thermal system

Washington [US]: The recently launched 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros by Apple have come with new designs and revamped chassis, and one improvement of the newer chassis compared to its predecessor is an improved thermal system.
MacRumors reported Apple saying that the new thermal system in its latest high-end MacBooks is capable of moving 50 per cent more air at lower fan speeds. While the revamped thermal design is greatly improved, the efficiency of the new M1 Pro and M1 Max chips mean that for most customers, the “fans never turn on” for tasks done daily, according to Apple.
Apple’s senior vice president of hardware engineering, John Ternus, touted during the recent Apple event that the new chassis was designed with an “intense focus on performance and utility.”
He further informed that the new MacBook Pros are “precisely machined around an advanced thermal system.”
The new thermal architecture allows the new MacBook Pros gadgets to maintain high performance over more extended periods, without overheating or requiring the fans to turn on at higher speeds, unlike their predecessor.
Available in 14-inch and 16-inch models, the new products do not come with the Touch Bar and are replaced with a full-size function row. Many ports are back; there is also an HDMI port, three Thunderbolt ports, an SD card slot, a headphone jack, and the return of the MagSafe charger. The new MacBook Pros have arrived with a notch on their display just like Apple’s iPhone 13 models. Apple has brought over the notch design from the iPhone to the new MacBook Pros, though it houses an improved 1080p FaceTime camera.
The tech giant has also added the company’s adaptive refresh rate technology, ProMotion, and Mini LEDs to the brand new MacBook Pros. While, ProMotion comes topping out at up to 120Hz refresh rates; the new products are also lit by Mini LEDs, like the 2021 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
Apple’s MagSafe magnetic charger is also back with the new MacBook Pros. The company has named it MagSafe 3. The American tech giant said that the new computers can charge up to 50 per cent in 30 minutes.

North Korea admits it launched new type of ballistic missile

Pyongyang [North Korea]: North Korea on Wednesday acknowledged that the country has test-fired a new type of submarine-launched ballistic missile
The new missile has “lots of advanced control guidance technologies including flank mobility and gliding skip mobility,” Kyodo News reported citing the Academy of Defence Science. This came a day after one of the ballistic missiles launched by North Korea has presumably landed outside Japan’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ), Japanese Defense Minister Nobuo Kishi informed.
Meanwhile, the US has condemned North Korea’s latest test of a ballistic missile and believes the situation underscores the need for more diplomacy, White House spokesperson Jen Psaki was quoted as saying by Sputnik.
Meanwhile, the US is also consulting with allies in the region about the issue, Psaki said.
Earlier on Tuesday, US Special Representative for North Korea Sung Kim met with Japanese and South Korean counterparts on how to engage North Korea moving forward, she added.

Senior Japanese, US officials discuss North Korea’s missile launches

Tokyo [Japan] : High-ranking representatives of the governments of Japan and the United States discussed North Korea’s latest missile tests by phone, the Kyodo news agency reported.
The sides agreed to further cooperate in the area, it said. The details of the conversation, as well as the names of the participants in the dialogue, have not yet been specified.
Earlier on Tuesday, the South Korean military reported that North Korea fired an unidentified projectile towards the Sea of Japan. It was later clarified that a ballistic missile had been tested. According to the Yonhap news agency, it is possible that it was a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM).
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said two launches were made from North Korea.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 11, Note 11 Pro specifications leak, said to launch shortly

Beijing [China]: Several new leaks and rumours about the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11, Note 11 Pro have emerged.
As per sources of GSM Arena, the two phones are actually very close to release and expected to drop before Singles’ day (November 11), likely just in time to catch the shopping frenzy. The source shared some alleged specifications as well.
The Redmi Note 11 Pro is said to feature a 120Hz OLED display and a Dimensity 920 chipset, alongside 6GB of RAM, with 128GB of storage or 8GB of RAM, with 128GB or 256GB of storage.
These are rumored to cost CNY 1,599 (~USD248), CNY 1,799 (~USD279) and CNY 1,999 (USD311), respectively.
That 120W charging rumour is disputed by the new leak, which claims the Redmi Note 11 Pro will have a 5,000 mAh battery, capable of 67W charging.
Other mentioned specifications include JBL stereo speakers, NFC and an x-axis linear motor. For cameras, the Redmi Note 11 Pro is said to have a 108MP main camera, alongside other supplementary cameras, not mentioned in the leak and a 16MP selfie.
The vanilla Redmi Note 11 is said to have a 120Hz LCD display, with a Dimensity 810, alongside 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
Pricing is tipped at CNY 1,119 (~USD186) and CNY 1,599 (~USD248), respectively. Like its bigger sibling, the Redmi Note 11 also gets a 5,000 mAh battery, but charging is capped at 33W. Cameras allegedly include a 50MP main snapper on the back and a 13MP selfie.

Google Pixel 6, 6 Pro launch commercials leaked prior to official unveiling

Washington [US]: There are leaks and then there are massive leaks, like the recent spill that revealed basically every detail about the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, prior to their official unveiling on October 19.
According to GSM Arena beyond that still, nothing has really managed to leak quite like Google’s upcoming phones in recent memory. There are now assembly videos for the devices, as well as official repair manuals. It hardly comes as a surprise that recently a couple of official ads for the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro have been uncovered as well.
These don’t really offer any new info, as other than actually testing out the new and exciting Google-designed Tensor chip, all of the info on both handsets is already available.
What the clips do offer is yet another nice look at the design of the pair, including highlights like the curved display on the Pro, compared to the flat panel on the vanilla Pixel 6.
Another thing the ads make clear is Google’s justified marketing focus on AI for the Pixel 6 pair. The ads show exclusive features like Magic Eraser and Live Translate, while also emphasizing on security, highlighting things like Security Hub and the offline, on-device nature of most of Google’s AI features.
While people wait for October 19’s Google event, they can sift through the extensive backlog of Pixel 6 leaks for themselves, as per GSM Arena.

AirPods 3 rumoured to be announced at Apple event

Washington [US]: Apple is hosting a virtual event on Monday at 10 am Pacific Time, with rumours widely suggesting the event will be focused on redesigned 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models with a faster version of the M1 chip, brighter mini-LED displays, and more.
As per reports by MacRumors, third-generation AirPods will likely be announced at the event as well. The new AirPods are rumoured to feature a similar design as the AirPods Pro, but without Active Noise Cancellation, and they could have improved sound quality and some other new features. Reports suggest the third-generation AirPods have already been manufactured and are ready to launch, which increases the likelihood that they will be announced during the Apple Event next week.
Earlier this week, an account on a Chinese social media platform also claimed that third-generation AirPods will be announced at the Apple Event next week. Last month, the same account accurately revealed that Apple would announce the ninth-generation iPad at its September event.
This would be the first update to the standard AirPods since the second-generation AirPods were released in March 2019. The second-generation AirPods are priced at USD 159 with a wired charging case and at USD 199 with a wireless charging case.
An update to the AirPods Pro is not expected until next year.

Samsung Galaxy S21 FE to launch soon

Seoul [South Korea]: Samsung Galaxy S21 FE is rumoured to launch on January 11, 2022.
On Wednesday, Samsung announced ‘Unpacked part 2’ event for October 20, adding its own contribution to what was already shaping up to be a pretty big week in terms of tech announcements – with Apple and Google also hosting stuff. As per GSM Arena, one might have assumed that Samsung was planning to finally make the Galaxy S21 FE official, a phone that’s been leaked to the moon and back and was rumoured to have been delayed multiple times because of the chip shortage.
However, mass production for the Galaxy S21 FE was apparently pushed to begin in December, so Samsung obviously can’t announce a phone that it doesn’t even plan on producing for a couple of months.
Multiple sources have converged on January being the month of the unveiling, with one of them even mentioning a specific date: mark your calendars for January 11, ladies and gentlemen.
If this pans out, then we’re at a loss regarding what next week’s event is planning to showcase.
Also, if the Galaxy S21 FE does launch in January, perhaps an earlier rumour saying that the Galaxy S22 family’s announcement would be pushed to February to not instantly take the spotlight away from the S21 FE might make even more sense than it did before.

OnePlus 9RT launched with Snapdragon 888 chipset, 50MP main camera

Shenzhen [China]: After months of anticipation, OnePlus has finally revealed its latest smartphone, the OnePlus 9RT. The device is currently only available in China, with an India launch date yet to be confirmed.
As per GSM Arena, the phone sports the Snapdragon 888 chipset, a triple camera, and a 120Hz refresh rate display. OnePlus 9RT 5G specifications and features:
The OnePlus 9RT 5G’s design is similar to the OnePlus 9’s. There is a corner punch-hole camera on the display and slim bezels all around, as per 91 Mobiles.
The glass rear panel has a matt finish and houses a rectangular camera module. There is no physical fingerprint sensor here as the company is offering an in-display one. The Alert Slider has also been retained, which comes as a sigh of relief for those who thought OnePlus was done with the slider.
As a flagship phone, the OnePlus 9RT 5G gets all the bells and whistles. It features a 6.62-inch E4 OLED display with up to a 120Hz refresh rate, 1300nits peak brightness, HDR10+ support, and 600Hz touch response.
The device is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset coupled with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage.

Facebook halts plans for ‘Instagram Kids’ app after criticism

Washington [US]: Facebook is pausing the development of Instagram Kids, a version of the photo-sharing application for children under 13.
Instagram chief Adam Mosseri announced the news in a blog post, saying that the Facebook-owned company would continue to work on parental-supervised experiences for younger users, reported The Verge. In the blog post and series of accompanying tweets, Mosseri blamed the critics for misunderstanding the purpose of the app.
“It was never meant for younger kids, but for tweens (aged 10-12),” he wrote.
In a separate tweet, he added that news of the project “leaked way before we knew what it would be. People feared the worst, and we had few answers at that stage. It’s clear we need to take more time on this.”
Pausing work on the app comes after a leading publication posted a series of damning reports into Facebook last week.
These included a story revealing how Instagram’s own internal research suggested that the app made body issues worse for teenage girls. Facebook said these reports mischaracterised the company’s studies, but it has so far refused to release its data firsthand for critics and supporters alike to analyse.
The development of a version of Instagram aimed at younger users was widely criticised by a number of groups.
Facebook responded to this criticism by saying young people were already active online and it was better that their experience be supervised. The company also said it wouldn’t show advertising on the new app. However, critics were not convinced.
Mosseri noted on Twitter that critics will see Instagram pausing development of the kids app “as a concession that the project is a bad idea.”
He added, “I have to believe parents would prefer the option for their children to use an age-appropriate version of Instagram – that gives them oversight – than the alternative. But I’m not here to downplay their concerns, we have to get this right.”

As per Variety, critics included more than 40 state attorneys general who urged Facebook to kill the project, raising red flags including research showing social media can be harmful to the emotional and mental well-being of children.

OnePlus ‘T’ series not happening this year

Washington [US]: Putting all the speculations to rest, popular smartphone brand OnePlus has confirmed that the company will not launch a ‘T’ series flagship this year, which means the OnePlus 9T and 9T Pro are not happening.
As per Mashable India, the move comes as a part of the general OS announcement earlier on Tuesday to set a roadmap for what to expect from a software standpoint. For the unversed, the company has been releasing the ‘T’ series phones as incremental upgrades to their already existing flagship, but this year seems like the company has decided to end the tradition.
According to Mashable India, the company claims that there would not be a OnePlus 9T, but there “will be other releases,” which was not clearly mentioned by the company.
The rumoured OnePlus 9RT is expected to be an incremental upgrade to the earlier 8T model. It will reportedly feature a 120Hz AMOLED display, a better-binned version of Snapdragon 870, a 4,500 mAh battery with 65-watt fast charging, and a 50MP Sony IMX 766 primary camera sensor.

HP’s new 11-inch tablet comes with flipping webcam

Washington [US]: HP has announced a new 11-inch tablet that appears to be a more or lesss direct competitor to Microsoft’s Surface Go with a couple of interesting tricks.
According to The Verge, its 13-megapixel rear-facing camera can flip around the short edge of the display to work as a webcam, which HP claims is a first for a tablet, and also makes it the highest resolution front-facing camera to boot. It is also able to work with its keyboard accessory in either portrait or landscape modes which come in handy since in landscape mode its webcam is on the wrong edge of its 2160 x 1440 IPS display.
The tablet also works with HP’s Tilt Pen, and there is a USB-C port for plugging in more accessories as well as charging, alongside a microSD card slot and a fingerprint reader built into its power button.
Internally, the tablet is available with an Intel Pentium Silver N6000 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 128GB of NVMe storage. Its modest specs mean that it is running Windows 11’s lightweight S mode.
HP plans to eventually sell the tablet both with and without the keyboard when it goes on sale in December, as per The Verge.
It will start at USD 499 alone or USD 599 with the keyboard.

Leaks suggest Microsoft Surface Pro 8 will have 120Hz display, Thunderbolt support

Washington [US]: American tech giant Microsoft will be launching a new Surface Pro 8 model next week and a new leak of the upcoming device appears to have revealed exactly what to expect from it.
According to The Verge, a Twitter user recently published a photo of the Surface Pro 8 from what appears to be a retail listing. The account claimed the Surface Pro 8 will ship with a new 13-inch 120Hz display with narrow bezels and two Thunderbolt ports. Last week, the outlet has reported that the Surface Pro 8 would ship without USB-A ports, in favour of USB-C and Thunderbolt. They also reported that Microsoft has been testing 120Hz displays for the Surface Pro lineup. The leaked image and specs line up with what was heard from sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans.
The leak also revealed that Microsoft is moving towards removable SSDs on the Surface Pro 8. This matches with the Surface Laptop 4, Surface Pro X, and the business-only Surface Pro 7 plus and will henceforth make it easier for businesses to swap out drives.
The company has planned a Surface hardware event on September 22, 11 AM ET / 8 AM PT onwards, where it’s expected from the company to announce the Surface Pro 8, a Surface Go 3, a newly designed Surface Book 4, an updated Surface Pro X, and the successor to the Android-powered Surface Duo, as per The Verge.

Google Pixel Fold tipped to launch this year

Washington [US]: American tech giant Google’s foldable smartphone may come out soon.
As per GSM Arena, it has been long rumoured that Google is eyeing to enter the foldable space with its own Pixel foldable phone. A fresh new leak from Senior Director at Display Supply Chain Consultants – David Naranjo reveals a supposed launch date in Q4 2021 for the Google Pixel Fold and suggests the device will use an LTPO OLED display.
Google is expected to launch its Pixel 6 series on October 19 and has already provided an early look at the duo’s designs and specs but the Pixel Fold was not mentioned to this point.
Q4 takes place between October 1 and December 31 so there is a chance the Pixel Fold could very well be a “one more thing” announcement at the Pixel 6 event or it could launch later this year.
Earlier this year we saw a leaked list of unreleased Pixel phones containing the GPQ72 model number and “Passport” code name which is allegedly the Pixel foldable phone.
There’s little to no information on what the Pixel Fold will look like, though a past patent application from Google showed us the Android maker is looking to bring an under-screen camera and it’s rumoured to debut on its foldable.
There’s also been talk of a 7.6-inch inward folding device that would make use of Samsung’s foldable display tech.

Apple confirms September 14 event, expected to unveil iPhone 13

Washington [US]: Apple recently announced that it will be holding an event on September 14. The company is expected to launch the iPhone 13 series during its event titled ‘California Streaming’.
As per The Verge, it will be another virtual event broadcast from Apple Park. The tech giant typically announces the year’s new iPhones at the fall event, and this year’s entry is expected to be called the iPhone 13. The new series of phones will apparently come in the same sizes as the iPhone 12, but a headline feature for some models could be high refresh rate screens, finally delivering tech that has been available on many Android phones.
The new phones are also expected to have smaller display notches and improved cameras.

It’s hard to pull specific clues from Apple’s event invite, though the darkening sky might suggest we’ll see improved night mode photography. And the glowing Apple logo is maybe hinting toward an always-on lock screen for the iPhone.
If Apple reveals the next iPhone at the event as expected, then it seems likely the company will also share a release date for iOS 15. We already know that one of its biggest features, SharePlay, won’t be included in the initial public release of the software.
Apple has several other projects in the works that could make appearances at the event as well. The next Apple Watch, reportedly called the Apple Watch Series 7, is rumoured to have a new design with flatter edges and larger 41mm and 45mm screens, a 1mm bump from the Series 6.
Apple’s next entry-level AirPods may have a new design that takes cues from the AirPods Pro. New 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros equipped with the company’s custom-designed chips and an SD card slot are also rumoured to be on the way.

Jennifer Aniston May launch Her Own Beauty Brand

Mark your calendars as actor Jennifer Aniston might be launching her very own beauty line in just a few days.

The ‘Friends’ alum recently teased the launch of her new brand via Instagram on Thursday. “Something’s coming,” ‘The Morning Show’ star captioned two images snapped on set at a photo shoot. She went on to tag Lolavie, a new Instagram page.

The brand, which features a black and white logo that’s effortlessly chic, only follows one person so far: Aniston. While there are currently only three images on the grid, there’s much to dissect.

First of all, the brand is set to launch on September 8. There’s also a link to the brand’s website, which identified the tagline as “Naturally You.”

While the accompanying image of lemon, seeds, plants and science beakers filled with water leave the door open, the brand’s trademark, which was obtained by Us Weekly, provides further insight.

The documents, which were originally filed in July 2019, state that the brand could cover everything from face and body lotions to deodorant and candles.

But regardless of whether Aniston drops sops, essential oils or hair care, it’s safe to say that her fan base — and famous friends — aren’t going to miss a beat scooping up whatever the star has to offer.

“SEPTEMBER IS JENNIFER ANISTON MONTH AND WE AINT COMPLAIN’,” a fan commented on a photo of Aniston’s hair on Lolavie’s Instagram page.

“I don’t know exactly what this is, but I’m sure it’s going to be awesome! I am excited,” another person wrote, adding a heart emoji.

Many have also dubbed launch month, JENtember. “The month of JENtember is truly beautiful,” someone said. Another user added: “Jentember has begun.”

Aniston’s beauty routine has always had a fairly holistic approach, as she places emphasis on sleep, well-being and working out. In an August 2021 interview with InStyle, the ‘Horrible Bosses’ star revealed that she’s been trying to “go to bed earlier” and exercise every day.

“I’m going back to my 15-15-15, which is a 15-minute spin, elliptical, run. And then just old school: I can chase myself around a gym. I need some kind of movement, even if it’s just 10 minutes a day on a trampoline,” she said.

It makes perfect sense that the 52-year-old star is venturing into the world of beauty. For years, Aniston has been applauded for her glowing skin.

Amazon planning to launch Alexa-powered TV in October

Washington [US]: American tech giant Amazon may release Amazon-branded TVs as soon as October. The company has previously launched smart displays, smart speakers and Fire TV sticks.
As per The Verge, Amazon will release Amazon-branded TVs in the US. The TVs will have Alexa, screen sizes in the range of 55 to 75 inches, and will be designed and manufactured by third parties such as TCL. The company is also developing a TV designed in-house, but it’s unclear when that might be released.
Amazon is not entirely new to the TV market. The company offers AmazonBasics branded TVs in India. It has also partnered with BestBuy to sell Toshiba and Insignia TVs that run Amazon’s Fire TV software. Amazon also sells Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Cube, which you can hook up to your TV.
But this rumoured new Amazon-branded TV could indicate that the company is stepping up its television efforts to take on TV stalwarts like LG and Samsung more directly.

Pakistan lawmaker Mohsin Dawar launches party to promote secular, federal, democratic system

Peshawar [Pakistan]: Pakistani lawmaker Mohsin Dawar and some of his Pashtun colleagues on Wednesday launched a party called National Democratic Movement (NDM), with the aim to promote a secular, federal and democratic parliamentary system.
NDM, which was launched in Peshawar seeks “to establish a just, peaceful, tolerant and humane society” in which citizens enjoy fundamental freedoms, including freedom of expression, association and protection of the law, The Friday Times reported. The leaders of the newly formed party promised to work for provincial autonomy, the supremacy of the parliament, and allocating funds to education, health and human development.
“The Central Organising committee was formed after extensive consultations held over the last few months with inputs from leaders, friends and supporters involved in the process,” the newly formed party said on Twitter.
The party manifesto was also announced at the launch.
“The state must provide protection and facilities to all religions and beliefs without prejudice, discrimination or interference,” the document reads, as quoted by The Friday Times.
The party said that the powers of the state and the government cannot be absolute and should respect the fundamental rights of citizens outlined under the country’s Constitution. It also recognises “the historical marginalisation of smaller provinces in the distribution of resources.”
“Pakistan is a multinational, multilingual, multicultural and multi-religious country with various units of historical identity and consciousness that must be acknowledged and recognized. Our party will strive to establish a new development agreement between all provinces…the aim of which will be to establish a just system based on equality… and to devise a power-sharing system based on political consensus and a decentralised federal system,” the manifesto reads.
Dawar, who hails from Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) has time and again accused the Pakistan Army of carrying out violence in the region with impunity.

Google Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro may launch on September 13

Washington [US]: Seems like September is going to be filled with major smartphone launches from some big tech giants.
Apple and Samsung have already hinted at unveiling the iPhone 13 series and the Galaxy S21 FE in September. And now looks like Google is here to steal the thunder. Google’s big new Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro are coming, and according to a tipster, they could arrive sooner than we thought. September 13 is the rumour, a day before Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 13, reported Mashable.
The tipster claimed that Google will hold its international Pixel 6 press conference on September 13. If true, September is going to be a really, really busy month for smartphones.
Google’s phones have historically offered amazing cameras and it seems like the company is stepping up its camera game further this year.
With the Pixel 6 Pro Google will offer three shooters with up to 4x optical zoom — a first for the tech giant’s smartphone line. The Pixel 6 Pro will offer a QHD+ 6.7-inch 120Hz refresh rate display, while the smaller model’s screen will be capped at 90Hz.
To add to the intrigue, the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro will feature Google’s own chip called ‘Tensor.’ While Samsung is reportedly handling the manufacturing side of the new Tensor chip, Google said it will add its own Machine Learning and AI algorithms to improve its performance.
Both of the upcoming devices will include a new version of Google’s Titan M security chip in addition to the TPU. “With Tensor’s new security core and Titan M2, Pixel 6 will have the most layers of hardware security in any phone,” said Google.
Reports in the past have also suggested a number of key features that are expected to be a part of the upcoming Pixel 6 series. The list includes the Pixel 6 Pro getting a 5,000mAh battery, 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage space.

Android app support won’t be available at Windows 11 launch

Washington [US]: American technology giant Microsoft won’t ship support for Android apps on Windows 11 in time for the operating system’s launch on October 5.
While Android apps running on Windows 11 is one of the big new features of the OS, according to The Verge, Microsoft will only start previewing this feature in the coming months. “We look forward to continuing our journey to bring Android apps to Windows 11 and the Microsoft Store through our collaboration with Amazon and Intel; this will start with a preview for Windows Insiders over the coming months,” said Aaron Woodman, general manager of Windows marketing at Microsoft.
This likely means Android apps won’t arrive on Windows 11 until 2022, as Microsoft tests the feature with Windows Insiders first before rolling it out generally months later.
While Android apps won’t be there on day one, Windows 11 will still include the promised Microsoft Teams integration, a new design with an updated Start menu, Snap Layouts, Groups, Desktops for improved multitasking, and a greatly improved Microsoft Store app.
As per The Verge, Microsoft announced today that Windows 11 will arrive on October 5, and it will be available as a free upgrade for eligible Windows 10 PCs.
New PCs will get it first, followed by existing devices receiving the upgrade in the following weeks and months. Microsoft has said it expects to offer all eligible Windows 10 PCs a free upgrade to Windows 11 by mid-2022.

Apple announces huge push into classical music, standalone app launching in 2022

Washington [US]: In a bid to expand its classical music offering, Apple recently announced that it has acquired classical music streaming service Primephonic and will launch an app dedicated to the genre in 2022.
As per The Verge, the tech giant stated that it will incorporate the app’s functionality and playlists into Apple Music. The result will be “a significantly improved classical music experience,” Apple said. There will also be a standalone Apple Music classical app coming sometime in 2022.
Effective immediately, Primephonic is no longer accepting new customers, and the service as it exists today will shut down on September 7.
Apple says Primephonic’s playlists and “exclusive audio content” will be the first to be integrated into Apple Music. Down the line, it’ll add “the best features of Primephonic, including better browsing and search capabilities by composer and by repertoire, detailed displays of classical music metadata, plus new features and benefits.”
In a show of how serious Apple is about appealing to classical fans, the company says “a dedicated classical music app” will launch next year that will use Primephonic’s “classical user interface that fans have grown to love.”
Primephonic launched three years ago, and its team says this deal is about scale and reaching more listeners.
“As a classical-only startup, we can not reach the majority of global classical listeners, especially those that listen to many other music genres as well,” the company wrote in a note on its webpage.
“We, therefore, concluded that in order to achieve our mission, we need to partner with a leading streaming service that encompasses all music genres and also shares our love for classical music,” the company added.
According to Primephonic’s FAQ, customers with an active subscription will receive a prorated refund. They will also be getting a code to redeem six free months of Apple Music.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE Wi-Fi variant to launch soon in India

Seoul [South Korea]: South Korean tech giant Samsung introduced the Galaxy Tab S7 FE in India in June, but it only launched the LTE variant of the tablet in the country. Now the company will launch the Wi-Fi version in India soon.
As per GSM Arena, this revelation comes from Amazon India, which set up a promo page for the Galaxy Tab S7 FE’s Wi-Fi model on its website. The online retailer didn’t reveal the tablet’s price or sale date and only said that it’s “coming soon.”
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 FE is powered by the Snapdragon 750G SoC and runs Android 11-based One UI 3.1 out of the box. The LTE model comes with 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB memory options in India, and it remains to be seen if the Wi-Fi version will also have the same configuration.

Reports claim Apple might have two major launch events

Washington [US]: Sources that have knowledge of Apple’s supply chain have revealed that the California-based giant might not unveil a slew of products on one event, which is why the company might be planning two of them.
According to Mashable, despite most analysts talking about just one Apple event expected to be held during the third week of September, a report has claimed that the firm might not showcase everything at a single event. However, not everyone appears to be convinced by the report’s claims. What actually is expected is that Apple may hold a September event to unveil products just like the iPhone 13 series, followed by the iPad 9, Apple Watch Series 7, and AirPods 3.
Apple might then host a separate briefing and launch event in early October of November to announce the M1X MacBook Pro family and therefore the iPad mini 6. The M1X Mac mini might not be a part of Apple’s announcement because it is rumoured to be delayed thanks to marketing reasons.
Assuming the claims of the report are true regarding two September events, it’ll still be a proper move on Apple’s part. Firstly, people expect to witness a slew of product announcements, and showcasing them during a single event means viewers might grow uninterested in the time it takes to unwrap the whole event.
If Apple chooses to make the event concise, the corporate might not give the specified time to every product feature, leaving out some key selling points and discouraging future customers.
However, the worldwide health crisis features a habit of forcing companies like Apple to vary plans at a blink of an eye, so treat this report with a pinch of salt.
