Chris Pratt Remembers Co-Actor Irrfan Khan Says, ‘He Was Such An Elegant Man’

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India]: The Jurassic World film series star Chris Pratt is set to reprise the role of Owen Grady in the upcoming movie ‘Jurassic World Dominion.’ The film begins from the ending of the last movie ‘Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom,’ in which the dinosaurs were let loose in the world.

Amidst this, the lead of the film Chris remembers the late Irrfan during his recent conversation. Recalling his experience of working with Irrfan, Chris said that he was “just such an elegant man… like, down to his fingernails.

There was just an elegance about him. He was also so powerful. It’s really a rare combination for there to be such strength in softness. And that’s what I would call elegant – he could do very little and still he would be doing so much.”

He added, “Just by his sheer presence, and his sheer charisma, that he would bring to a role. One tiny flick of an eyebrow, or one tiny little move, was so powerful.”

In the Jurassic Park (2015) film, Irrfan played the role of Simon Masrani, CEO of the Masrani Corporation that owned the theme park.

After fighting a two-year battle with cancer, Irrfan succumbed to the disease in 2020. His final movie was ‘Angrezi Medium’ which was released in March 2020, where the great actor won over our hearts once again for the last time.

Chris Pratt was among the several Hollywood stars, who paid tribute to the legendary actor. “So sad to hear about the passing of screen legend @irrfank Irrfan Khan played Masrani in Jurassic World. He was an exquisite actor and human. He will be missed,” he had tweeted back then. (ANI)

Will Smith’s Upcoming Film ‘Emancipation’ Postponed To 2023 After Oscars Controversy

Washington [US]:  In the wake of his slap incident at Oscars 2022, Apple has decided to postpone the release date of Will Smith’s film ‘Emancipation’.

As per Variety, the streaming giant is planning to delay the film’s release to sometime in 2023. While Apple has not shared an official date, one source familiar with the situation said, “it’s the unspoken truth” that the action-drama will not hit the platform in 2022.

Emancipation, sees Smith portraying a runaway slave named Peter, which is based on a true story from an 1863 photo titled The Scourged Back.

For the unversed, while presenting the best documentary feature award at the 2022 Oscars, Chris Rock made a joke about Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head.

Rock said he couldn’t wait to see Pinkett Smith, who has alopecia areata, star in ‘G.I. Jane 2’ which led Smith to go up on stage and slap Rock. Smith returned to his seat and shouted, “Keep my wife’s name out of your fu**ing mouth!”

A few minutes after the incident, Smith was announced Best Actor at the 94th Academy Awards. While accepting his first-ever Oscar for best actor (leading role) in ‘King Richard’, Smith apologized to the Academy and fellow nominees but did not mention Rock.

However, after receiving backlash for his disorderly behaviour, Smith issued an apology to Chris Rock and the Academy on his social media handle.

On March 29, there was a short virtual meeting between Smith, Rubin and Academy CEO Dawn Hudson, initiated by Smith. And then after a few days, Academy banned Smith from Oscars for 10 years. (ANI)

Amber Heard Breaks Down In Tears While Recounting Sexual Assault

Virginia [Washington]: Actor Amber Heard broke down in tears on the witness stand on Thursday while testifying in the defamation trial against ex-husband Johnny Depp claiming that he had sexually assaulted her with a liquor bottle during a fight in Australia, shortly after the pair got married.

Recounting the ordeal, the “Aquaman” actress said that the fight in Australia — during filming of the fifth “Pirates of the Caribbean” film in March 2015 — was prompted by Depp’s jealousy and her concern about his drug use, Variety reported. She said Depp had repeatedly hit her, threw bottles at her and choked her against a refrigerator, before finally getting her on top of a countertop and penetrating her with a bottle.

“I remember just not wanting to move,” she said. She said she remembered thinking, “Please, God, I hope it’s not broken.”

Heard is defending herself in a $50 million defamation trial in Fairfax, Virginia. Depp has sued his ex-wife Heard for writing an op-ed piece for the Washington Post in which she claimed that she was a victim of domestic abuse.

Depp has even argued that she has levelled allegations against him to advance her career.

His lawsuit alleges that he lost out on the sixth “Pirates of the Caribbean” film and other movie roles after Heard referred to herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse” in a December 2018 op-ed, the Variety reported.

Heard began her testimony on Wednesday afternoon, recounting how she first met Depp and fell in love with him. But she said she also discovered that Depp could become extremely jealous — especially when drunk or high — and fly into rages.

She told the jury about a flight on a private jet in May 2014, when she alleges that Depp slapped her and then kicked her to the floor. She also told the jury of other violent episodes, in Tokyo, and on Depp’s private island in the Bahamas. She said Depp could be verbally cruel, calling her a “whore,” a “slut” and a “fat ass,” Variety reported.

Depp has denied ever assaulting Heard. He already told the jury his own version of events surrounding the Australia fight, alleging that she severed his fingertip when she threw a bottle at him.

Heard has previously testified about these incidents during a trial in the United Kingdom, but the details of the alleged sexual assault were kept confidential in that proceeding.

In her testimony on Thursday, Heard also said she ended up with cuts on her arms and feet from the broken glass.

She said, at one point, Depp had held a broken bottle to her jaw, and threatened to “carve up my face,”it added.

The couple met on the ‘Rum Diary’ set in 2011 and got married in 2015. However, the marriage was short-lived.

They split in May 2016, and Heard accused the actor of sexual abuse. Depp denied the claims, and they settled their divorce in August 2016.

Speaking of the film, it is a sequel to the 1986 hit movie ‘Top Gun’. It was filmed well over two years ago and was one of many major Hollywood titles that became long-delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The film will officially hit theatres on May 27. (ANI)

Cannes 2022 COVID Protocols: No Need To Wear Masks Or Undergo Testing

Cannes [France]: Organisers of the Cannes Film Festival are preparing to axe COVID-19 curbs ahead of its 75th edition.

As per Variety, the annual celebration of movies won’t be testing attendees, as it did last year, and will not institute a mask mandate at screenings and events. “Since the health pass is no longer in application in France, guests will not have to show a proof of testing or vaccination to enter the Palais,” Cannes general secretary Francois Desrousseaux informed.

He added, “Most participants will likely be vaccinated anyway, because France has made it very complicated for non-vaccinated travelers to enter the country.”

He also pointed out that roughly 95 per cent of the adult population in France has already received two shots of the vaccine.

“We’re in a very different situation than last year because the curve of COVID-19 infections is going down, instead of going up,” the Paris-based executive said.

Another change from last year is that masks will not be mandatory indoors, but will instead be strongly recommended. However, Desrousseaux said Cannes staffers will be wearing masks.

The 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival will take place from May 17 to 28, 2022. (ANI)

Filmmaker Jon Watts Quits Marvel’s ‘Fantastic Four’

Washington [US]: American filmmaker Jon Watts, who was set to direct the rebooted version of the ‘Fantastic Four’ film, has opted out of the Marvel Cinematic Project.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, in a statement after leaving the directorship of the series Watts said, “Making three Spider-Man films was an incredible and life-changing experience for me. I’m eternally grateful to have been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe for seven years. I’m hopeful we’ll work together again, and I can’t wait to see the amazing vision for Fantastic Four brought to life.” Kevin Feige, Marvel Studios president and co-president Louis D’Esposito said that collaborating with Jon on the Spider-Man films has been a true pleasure for him as they were looking forward to continuing their work with him to bring the Fantastic Four into the MCU but also understands and supports his reasons for stepping away.

Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios movies earned $ 1.89 billion, making them the sixth-highest-paying movie in history. It was Feige, who announced in December 2020 at Disney’s Investors Day presentation that Watt would lead the ‘Fantastic Four’. Watts oversaw Spider-Man: ‘Noway Home’.

Created by Stanley and Jack Kirby, ‘Fantastic Four’ launched Marvel Comics in 1961. The comic book that reinvented the periodical publisher, known as ‘Timely’ made comic book superheroes more realistic and relatable to audiences, as per The Hollywood Reporter.

The comic may have succeeded quickly, but adaptation to the big screen didn’t really work. In the mid-1990s, Roger Corman made a cheap Hackney feature film that didn’t reach the theater but can be found on YouTube. In the 2000s, when intellectual property rights existed in the 20th century, Tim Story directed two films starring Chris Evans and Jessica Alba.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Watts has another powerful project that could be the next step for the director.

Last September, Apple Studios won a lively auction of untitled films written and directed by Watts, and George Clooney and Brad Pitt played rival “fixers” who were hired at the same time for the same thing. (ANI)

Kristen Stewart To Headline New Romantic Thriller ‘Love Lies Bleeding’

Washington [US], April 14 (ANI): Hollywood star Kristen Stewart is set to headline a new romantic thriller titled ‘Love Lies Bleeding’, which will be helmed by Rose Glass, the filmmaker behind the acclaimed British film ‘Saint Maud’.

A24, which recently released ‘Everything Everywhere All at Once’, is backing the movie along with Film4, reported The Hollywood Reporter. Apart from directing the romantic thriller, Glass has also co-written the script with Weronika Tofilska, with sources saying that the story is centred on the extreme qualities it takes to succeed in the competitive world of bodybuilding.

In the film, Stewart will feature as the co-lead, the protective lover of a female bodybuilder. The film will showcase a romance fueled by ego, desire and the American dream.

A24 will produce alongside Andrea Cornwell for Lobo Films and Oliver Kassman for Escape Plan Productions.
Film4 developed the movie alongside the filmmakers and will co-finance with A24. The filmmakers are hoping to cast the lead as authentically as possible, with the search currently underway.

Coming back to Stewart, she landed her first Oscar nomination earlier this year for her role in the biopic ‘Spencer’, directed by Pablo Larrain. Prior to that, she starred in the holiday rom-com ‘Happiest Season’.

Comedian Gilbert Gottfried Dies At 67

Washington [US], April 13 (ANI): Comedian Gilbert Gottfried, who has one of the most recognisable voices in Hollywood, has passed away. He was 67.

As per Variety, his publicist told the Washington Post that he died of myotonic dystrophy type 2, a form of muscular dystrophy. His family also confirmed the news of his demise on Twitter.

“We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our beloved Gilbert Gottfried after a long illness. In addition to being the most iconic voice in comedy, Gilbert was a wonderful husband, brother, friend and father to his two young children. Although today is a sad day for all of us, please keep laughing as loud as possible in Gilbert’s honour,” his family wrote on Twitter.

Many Hollywood stars, including comedians Jason Alexander, Dane Cook and more, paid tribute to Gottfried after the shocking news of his death.

Gottfried was known for his crude humour, political incorrectness and shrill voice, which helped give life to several animated characters, such as Iago the parrot in Disney’s ‘Aladdin’, the robotic bird Digit in PBS Kids’ ‘Cyberchase’ and the Aflac duck in commercials for the insurance company.

He was born in Brooklyn, New York, on February 28, 1955, and started performing stand-up comedy at just 15.
Gottfried had a short, 12-episode stint on ‘Saturday Night Live’ during Season 6 in 1980, and he reunited with his ‘SNL’ colleague Eddie Murphy on ‘Beverly Hills Cop II’, one of his first major film roles.

Howard Stern frequently invited Gottfried on his radio show in the ’80s, where he impersonated people like Andrew “Dice” Clay, Groucho Marx and Bela Lugosi as Dracula.

By the ’90s, Gottfried landed roles in films like the ‘Problem Child’ movies, ‘Highway to Hell’ and ‘Looks Who’s Talking Too’, before landing his most recognizable voice role as Iago the parrot in 1992’s ‘Aladdin’. Iago was the annoying but funny comic relief who accompanied the villain Jafar, and Gottfried reprised the role in two direct-to-video sequels, a TV series and the ‘Kingdom Hearts’ video games.

In the 2000s and 2010s, Gottfried became a regular on celebrity roasts and game shows. He appeared in Comedy Central roasts of Bob Saget, Joan Rivers, David Hasselhoff, Donald Trump and Roseanne Barr, plus game shows like ‘Hollywood Squares’ and ‘Pyramid’.

His edgy and crude humour, however, got him into trouble on several occasions. Three weeks after the September 11 terrorist attacks, Gottfried joked that he couldn’t catch a direct flight from New York to California because “they said they have to stop at the Empire State Building first.” The crowd decried “too soon,” but Gottfried was able to win the audience over and quickly made headlines by telling one of the first 9/11 jokes.

At the 1991 Emmy Awards, Gottfried made several masturbation jokes about Paul Reubens’ recent arrest for masturbating in an adult movie theatre, which resulted in Gottfried being blacklisted by producers.

The comedian also lost his job of voicing the Aflac duck after tweeting jokes about the 2011 Tohoku Japanese earthquake disaster, which was the fourth most powerful earthquake to ever hit Japan.

Director Neil Berkeley created a documentary, titled ‘Gilbert’, about the comedian’s career and personal life in 2017.

Gottfried is survived by his wife, Dara Kravitz, and two children, Lily and Max.

Filmmaker Michael Bay Would ‘Absolutely’ Work With Will Smith Following Oscars Slap Controversy

Washington [US], April 12 (ANI): Filmmaker Michael Bay has stated that he would “absolutely” work with Will Smith after the actor slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars.

According to Variety, Bay, who has directed Smith in two of his signature action movies, ‘Bad Boys’ and ‘Bad Boys II’, made the statement while speaking to Entertainment Weekly. “Absolutely, 100 per cent. He’s a very even-keeled guy. Very even-keeled,” Bay said when asked about working with Smith again.

Bay further opened up a bit more about the slap. “At first, immediately I’m like, ‘Did this just happen?'” he said.
Bay continued, “Then I saw the yell from Will. That’s a real Will yell. Will is an amazing fighter. He’s studied boxing. First of all, it’s wrong to do, no matter what. Let’s just get that out there. But when people said, ‘Oh, he could have killed him.’ No, a slap is different. A punch? Yeah, you can kill someone. Will gave him a slap.”

While presenting the best documentary feature award at the 2022 Oscars, Rock made a joke about Smith’s wife Pinkett Smith’s shaved head.

A few hours later, Smith announced his resignation from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, claiming he “willfully accepts any and all consequences for my conduct.”

Alicia Vikander Recalls How She Felt ‘Unprotected’ While Filming Nude Scenes

Washington [US], April 7 (ANI): Alicia Vikander does not like how filmmakers fail to properly take care of actors while filming nude scenes.

In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Alicia recalled how she felt unprotected while enacting one such nude scene, People reported. “The only thing that can’t be improvised is an intimate scene — you have to make choreography and stick to it. It’s the worst thing ever to do those scenes. I am very comfortable with my body and I’ve done quite a bit of nudity and sex scenes, but it’s never easy,” she said.

Alicia added, “Everyone was busy doing their own thing and, in the middle, you have an actor who sits there naked for a couple of hours. And someone is supposed to arrive with a robe, and they don’t. It comes afterwards, (the knowledge that) that was not right. I should have been looked after.”

According to her, intimacy coordinators (experts who advocate for the actors on set to make sure everyone is comfortable) “should have existed at the beginning” of her career.

Alicia has stripped down for love scenes in ‘Tulip Fever’ and Netflix’s ‘Earthquake Bird’.

Academy Leaders Meet Will Smith To Discuss Oscars Slap Before Emergency Board Meeting

Washington [US], April 1 (ANI): The leaders of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences met with actor Will Smith to discuss the ongoing slap incident, before the emergency board meeting.

Sources with direct knowledge of the matter told Variety, that the leaders met with Smith on Tuesday to discuss his attack on Chris Rock during the live telecast of the 2022 Oscars ceremony, on Sunday.

The outlet was informed that Academy President David Rubin and CEO Dawn Hudson had a conversation with the 53-year-old actor on Zoom about the fallout from the assault during Sunday’s Oscars telecast.

“The talk lasted for roughly 30 minutes,” according to what the source told Variety.

Smith apologized again to Rubin and Hudson for his action during their “brief” conversation and also expressed his awareness that there would be consequences and tried to explain why he snapped when Rock made a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair, who has alopecia.

Following that meeting, the Academy announced that Smith had violated the group’s code of conduct and faced “suspension, expulsion, or other sanctions.”

The Academy also revealed that Smith was asked to leave the ceremony following the incident, but he refused.

For a recap, while presenting the best documentary feature at the Oscars, comedian Chris Rock made a joke about Will Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s shaved head.

Rock said he couldn’t wait to see Pinkett Smith, who has alopecia, star in ‘G.I.

Academy Begins Disciplinary Proceedings Against Will Smith For His Disrespectful Behaviour At Oscars 2022

Washington [US]: Appears like Oscars 2022 slap controversy is not over yet. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Wednesday began disciplinary proceedings against actor Will Smith for misbehaving at the 94th Academy Awards held on Sunday.

Jane 2′ which led Smith to go up on stage and slap Rock. Smith returned to his seat and shouted, “Keep my wife’s name out of your fu**ing mouth!”

After the incident, Smith who was announced Best Actor at the Oscars, was asked to leave the show but refused to do so; The Hollywood Reporter reported.

The actor’s actions were in violation of the Academy’s Standards of Conduct, “including inappropriate physical contact, abusive or threatening behavior, and compromising the integrity of the Academy,” The Hollywood Reporter quoted the statement released after a Board of Governors meeting.

The statement revealed that Smith could face suspension, expulsion or other sanctions if the board chooses to take action at the next scheduled meeting on April 18.

Additionally, Smith will receive 15 days’ notice of a vote as well as an opportunity to be heard by written response beforehand.

“Things unfolded in a way we could not have anticipated. While we would like to clarify that Mr Smith was asked to leave the ceremony and refused, we also recognize we could have handled the situation differently,” The Hollywood Reporter quoted Academy.

The Academy also apologised directly to Rock in the statement, as well as nominees, guests and viewers.

For the unversed, while accepting his first-ever Oscar for best actor (leading role) in ‘King Richard’, Smith apologised to the Academy and fellow nominees, but did not mention Rock.

The Hollywood Reporter reported that the officers of the organisation’s Board of Governors had an emergency meeting a day later, and the full board met on Wednesday to discuss the incident.

One board of governor said there was broad support for Smith to be suspended or expelled from the Academy. “I think everyone unanimously feels what he did was out of control,” the person said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

“People want real consequence. Every member of every branch is reaching out to all their governors. It was an assault — and not only a physical assault, but an assault on the community,” told the source to The Hollywood Reporter.

The source added that “images of Smith and his family celebrating and dancing at the post-Oscar Vanity Fair party as if nothing had happened was an additional insult.”

Following a rage of backlash over social media, including from the Academy, Smith took to Instagram on Monday to apologise to Rock.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that Rock declined to press charges against what happened at the Oscars 2022 ceremony. (ANI)

“I want to apologize to the Academy. I want to apologize to all my fellow nominees. This is a beautiful moment and I’m not crying for winning an award. It’s not about winning an award for me. ‘The Batman’ Director Matt Reeves Releases Deleted Joker Scene With Barry Keoghan & Robert Pattinson

Washington [US], March 25 (ANI): Director Matt Reeves has released a deleted scene from his superhero epic ‘The Batman’.

The chilling scene features Robert Pattinson’s Caped Crusader facing off against his classic nemesis, the Joker, played by Barry Keoghan.

See Video:

https://youtu.be/FBeccCU_pEE

As Reeves explained to Variety in a recent interview, the scene follows Batman’s discovery that the Riddler has killed the Gotham City police commissioner, leaving behind another of his cryptic notes addressed to the Batman.

Unnerved by the Riddler’s interest in him, Batman decides to seek out insight into what makes the Riddler tick.

The filmmaker liked the idea of suggesting to the audience that Gotham is rife with villains just on the edge of the story and that Keoghan’s Joker is one of the first enemies Batman captures.

Reeves noted, “You realize that they have a relationship and that this guy obviously did something, and Batman somehow got him into Arkham.”

“Almost our anniversary, isn’t it?” Joker tells Batman in the scene.

Batman pushes Joker for reasons why Riddler is doing what he’s doing, and why he’s leaving notes for Batman at all of his crimes.

“Maybe he’s a fan of yours?” Joker says. “Or maybe he’s got a grudge against you, too. Maybe you’re the main course.”

The scene crescendos with Joker taunting Batman with the unsettling truth that there’s a part of him that agrees with Riddler’s decision to dispatch Gotham leaders who are mired in corruption.

“I think somewhere, deep down, you’re just terrified because you’re not sure he’s wrong,” Joker says, dissolving into cackles.

While this scene was deleted, Reeves kept a follow-up scene at the end of ‘The Batman’ in which Joker and Riddler connect in adjacent cells in the Arkham State Hospital.

During the play’s opening night, the actor collapsed suddenly towards the end of it and was attended to by a doctor in the audience, reported Deadline.

Egerton took a break to rest, while director Marianne Elliott confirmed to the audience that Harper-Jackson would complete the last 15 minutes of the play.

Informing his fans about his condition after collapsing, Egerton took to his Instagram Story the next day and wrote, “I am completely fine. Slightly sore neck and a bruised ego but I’m fine.”

Egerton also thanked Harper-Jackson for stepping in to replace him and returned to the show for its next performance.

The show, which opened at the Ambassadors Theatre, is written by Mike Bartlett and also stars Jade Anouka and Phil Daniels.

Nicolas Cage Disagrees With Francis Ford Coppola, Martin Scorsese’s Criticism Of Marvel Films

Washington [US], March 24 (ANI): Hollywood star Nicolas Cage has expressed disagreement towards his uncle Francis Ford Coppola when it comes to superhero movies like the Marvel films.

According to Variety, recently, while speaking to a magazine, the actor defended the genre against various criticisms made by top filmmakers including Coppola and Martin Scorsese. In 2019, Cappola had been quoted calling Marvel movies “despicable” while supporting Scorsese’s critical beliefs about comic book films hurting the film industry.

The filmmaker later clarified that he wasn’t referring to Marvel films specifically, rather he meant that it’s “despicable” how the film industry now values commerce over art.

Scorsese and Coppola’s primary criticism is that Marvel and comic book films have reshaped exhibition so that only one type of movie now gets produced and distributed at the theatrical level.

“There used to be studio films. Now there are Marvel pictures. And what is a Marvel picture? A Marvel picture is one prototype movie that is made over and over and over and over and over again to look different,” Coppola had himself explained in an interview earlier this year.

Defending these films, Cage stated, “I don’t understand the conflict. I don’t agree with them on that perception or opinion. I think that the movies that I make, like ‘Pig’ or ‘Joe,’ are not in any kind of conflict with Marvel movies.”

He continued, “I don’t think the Marvel movie had anything to do with the end of the tweener. By tweener, I mean the USD 30 to USD 50 million budget movie. I think movies are in good shape. If you look at ‘Power of the Dog,’ or if you look at ‘Spencer,’ or any of Megan Ellison’s movies. I think that there’s still Paul Thomas Anderson.”

“Marvel has done a really excellent job of entertaining the whole family. They put a lot of thought into it. I mean, it’s definitely had a big progression from when I was doing the first two ‘Ghost Rider’ movies. Kevin Feige, or whoever is behind that machine, has found a masterful way of weaving the stories together and interconnecting all the characters,” the actor added.

He further said, “I just, I don’t see what the issue is.”

As per Variety, there have been rumours that in the upcoming ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’, Cage might be reprising his ‘Ghost Ride’ role. However, during the interview, the actor dismissed this by saying “I’d love to work with Cumberbatch, but I don’t think that’s happening.”

In a 2-1 ruling, the justices ordered Smollett released pending the appeal of his conviction, on the condition that he post a USD 150,000 bond, Variety reported. Smollet was sentenced to five months in jail last week for allegedly staging a hate crime in which he lied to authorities about being jumped by two men who yelled racist and homophobic slurs at him.

Smollett’s attorney, Nenye Uche, had warned that Smollett was the subject of threats and could face physical harm while in custody. Those charges were dropped later that same month.

Tom Cruise’s ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ To Be Screened At Cannes Film Festival

Washington [US], March 15 (ANI): Hollywood star Tom Cruise starrer ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ will screen at Cannes in advance of its Memorial Day premiere in theatres, revealed sources close to the festival.

Canner, which this year will run from May 17-28, has long been a platform to launch a big Memorial Day tentpole. It provides Hollywood studios access to press from around the world, not to mention the benefit of high-profile stars walking the famous red carpet for photos.

Since the Ron Howard-directed ‘Far and Away’ bowed at Cannes in 1992, this would be the first time in 30 years a Cruise film has screened at the festival. However, it would not serve as the world premiere for ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, as that has been planned to be held in San Diego, where the first film was set.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, this Joseph Kosinski directed ‘Top Gun’ sequel has had to face a long road to the screen because it was delayed multiple times due to COVID pressures on theatrical business. The film’s first trailer had been released in 2019 at the San Diego Comic-Con.

All directed at Ukraine,” a source close to the ‘Don’t Look Up’ actor told People Magazine.

Stanley Tucci Feels ‘Incredibly Lucky’ After Successfully Fighting His Battle With Cancer

Washington [US], March 10 (ANI): Actor Stanley Tucci is feeling incredibly lucky after successfully fighting his battle with cancer.

In a recent interview with People magazine, the ‘Hunger Games’ star, who was diagnosed in 2017, said that he is “incredibly lucky” to be alive after his initial scan did not pick up the tumour located at the base of his tongue. “I had a scan, but the scan missed it. And of course, when you think that there might be something wrong, you’re also afraid that there is something wrong,” Tucci told People magazine.

He shared that eventually, a doctor located a 3-centimetre (1-inch) tumour.

“They couldn’t do surgery because the tumour was so big,” Tucci, who first disclosed his cancer battle in 2021, explained.

“It’s a miracle that it didn’t metastasize. It had been in me so long,” he shared with the outlet.

The 61-year-old actor underwent a 35-day radiation treatment and seven sessions of chemotherapy, which decimated his senses of taste and smell. He was also left unable to eat, so he became dependent on a feeding tube.

After his treatments ended in 2018, Tucci started to regain his senses and ability to eat, which he described as “just the most exciting thing in the world” as it allowed him to explore his passion for food again.

The actor also credited his wife, Felicity Blunt, with getting him through the terrifying ordeal.

Tucci and Blunt share 7-year-old son Matteo, and 3-year-old daughter Emilia.

The ‘Searching for Italy’ host is also a father to 22-year-old twins Nicolo and Isabel, and 20-year-old daughter Camilla, with his late wife Kate Tucci, who died after a battle of breast cancer in 2009.

Andrew Garfield On Playing ‘Spider-Man’ Again: ‘No plans’

Washington [US], February 28 (ANI): Hollywood actor Andrew Garfield recently said that he has “no plans” to reprise his role as Peter Parker in future movies after months of denying his involvement in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’.

Speaking to Variety on the red carpet of the SAG Awards 2022 on Sunday night, Garfield was asked if he was playing ‘Spider-Man’ again. The actor laughed and said, “No plans. That’s the truth.” “Everyone’s gonna call me a liar for the rest of my life. I’m the boy who cried wolf,” the actor added.

Garfield was nominated at this year’s SAG Awards for best male actor in a leading role for his musical turn in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s ‘Tick, Tick … Boom!’

Miranda, who opened the show alongside fellow ‘Hamilton’ stars Leslie Odom Jr. and Daveed Diggs, recalled Garfield crying wolf when Miranda asked him on set in 2020 whether he was going to play Peter Parker.

“To his credit, he never said it to me,” Miranda told Variety.

Miranda added, “He always denied it, but I was there the day it leaked. He was on my set in November when it leaked that he was in talks and I quietly went up to him and said, ‘Bro, are you in the new ‘Spider-Man?” and he went, ‘Shut up, shut up.’ It was the worst acting I’d ever seen him do. And I went, ‘He’s gotta practice that, that denial,’ and he got very good at it, but I was there when he first workshopped it.”

He continued, “The euphemism became, ‘I’m seeing a friend in Atlanta, and I was like, ‘Say hi to your friend in Atlanta for me.’ His friend is two other Spidermen.”

Talking about Garfield’s stint as Spider-Man, the actor, after a seven-year break, returned to play the role in last year’s Marvel blockbuster ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’.

The actor had earlier portrayed the popular hero in two films of the ‘Amazing Spider-Man’ series from 2012-14. Prior to the release of ‘No Way Home’, there were leaks and rumours pointing out at Garfield’s return. But the actor kept denying it.

Toronto Film Festival To Hold In-person Fall Event

Toronto [Canada], February 25 (ANI): For its upcoming 47th edition, the Toronto Film Festival has confirmed that it expects to hold an in-person event in the fall.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the planned September 8-18 festival will see TIFF’s industry networking and parties return on the ground in Toronto. Dealmakers being welcomed back to TIFF follows the informal film market mostly taking place online for two years running during the pandemic.

TIFF organizers gave no indication on the number of films expected as part of the 2022 line-up after scaled-down 2020 and 2021 editions.

The return of a physical event next September as the impact of the COVID-19 crisis in Ontario begins to wane, will be crucial to the success of Toronto’s 47th edition as the event relies on the broad support of the city’s film-going audiences to woo Hollywood and other international talents, the global media and local advertisers.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, TIFF CEO Cameron Bailey will select the festival’s glitzy Gala Presentation lineup for Roy Thomson Hall.

Sally Kellerman Dies: ‘MASH’ Actor Was 84

Washington [US], February 25 (ANI): Award-nominated film and television star Sally Kellerman is no more. She was 84 when she breathed her last.

Her manager and publicist Alan Eichler confirmed the news of Kellerman’s death to People Magazine, stating she died in her sleep from heart failure at her home in Woodland Hills, California, on Thursday morning. Kellerman was best known for her role as Major Margaret “Hot Lips” Houlihan in Robert Altman’s classic 1970 film ‘MASH’, opposite Donald Sutherland and Elliott Gould. The film netted Kellerman an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress in a Supporting Role.

‘MASH’ helped Kellerman move from television — where she spent the majority of her earlier career — to the big screen in films such as ‘Back to School’ in 1986 and 1994’s fashion extravaganza ‘Pret-a-Porter’, also directed by Altman.

With a career spanning more than 60 years, Kellerman appeared in TV shows including the original pilot for ‘Star Trek’ in 1966, ‘The Outer Limits’, ‘The Twilight Zone’, ‘The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet’, ‘Hawaii Five-O’, and ‘I Spy’.

Her films included ‘A Little Romance with Laurence Olivier’, ‘Foxes with Jodie Foster’, and several other Altman movies like ‘Brewster McCloud’, ‘Welcome to L.A.’ and ‘The Player’.

In 2014, she was nominated for a Daytime Emmy as Outstanding Special Guest Performer in a Drama Series for her appearances on the long-running CBS soap opera ‘The Young and Restless’.

Kellerman got her start as a singer and in 1972 released the album ‘Roll With the Feeling’. Barry Manilow produced her single ‘Triad’ in 1973, and her last recording, the jazz-oriented ‘Sally’, was released in 2007.

The actor also went on to become one of the first women to host ‘Saturday Night Live’ in 1981.

Kellerman is survived by son Jack, daughter Claire, and mother-in-law Lorraine Krane. Memorial services are pending.

Late Halyna Hutchins’ Husband, Matthew Hutchins Is ‘Angry’ At Alec Baldwin

Washington [US], February 24 (ANI): Late ‘Rust’ cinematographer Halyna Hutchins’ husband Matthew Hutchins is “angry” at Alec Baldwin over his wife’s death.

According to People Magazine, Matthew, in a recent interview, said he is infuriated that Baldwin has not accepted responsibility for the fatal on-set shooting, which resulted in the death of his wife at 42. “Watching him, I just felt so angry,” Matthew said when asked about Baldwin’s sit-down ABC interview with George Stephanopoulos, in which the actor said he did not feel guilty about the incident. “I was just so angry to see him talk about her death so publicly in such a detailed way and then to not accept any responsibility after having just described killing her.”

“There were a number of industry standards that were not practised, and there’s multiple responsible parties,” Matthew added of the ‘Rust’ set.

“The idea that the person holding the gun and causing it to discharge is not responsible is absurd to me,” Matthew said.

During December’s ABC News interview, Baldwin said, “Someone is responsible for what happened, and I can’t say who that is, but it’s not me.”

Earlier this month, Matthew filed a complaint on behalf of himself and the couple’s 9-year-old son Andros, claiming Baldwin, 63, “recklessly shot and killed Halyna Hutchins on the set of the movie Rust.”

The complaint, also filed by Halyna’s estate, read Baldwin “and the other Defendants in this case failed to perform industry standard safety checks and follow basic gun safety rules while using real guns to produce the movie Rust, with fatal consequences.”

In October, Baldwin accidentally shot Halyna and director Joel Souza during a camera test at the Bonanza Creek Ranch set in New Mexico. Halyna died from her injuries after being airlifted to the University of New Mexico Hospital. Souza, 48, survived his injuries.

“Halyna deserved to live,” the complaint read, “and the Defendants had the power to prevent her death if they only held sacrosanct their duty to protect the safety of every individual on a set where firearms were present instead of cutting corners on safety procedures where human lives were at stake, rushing to stay on schedule and ignoring numerous complaints of safety violations.”

“This lawsuit seeks justice for the losses of her survivors and to hold responsible those who caused her tragic death,” the complaint also read, in part.

The Sante Fe Sheriff’s Office has not yet charged anyone in the incident.

Jennifer Lawrence, Cooke Maroney Welcome Their First Child

Washington [US], February 24 (ANI): Congratulations are in order as actor Jennifer Lawrence has been blessed with her first child with husband Cooke Maroney.

According to public records obtained by TMZ on Wednesday, the Oscar-winning actor has welcomed her baby in Los Angeles County. The exact date she gave birth — and the sex of the baby — are unknown. This is Lawrence’s first child with her husband, art gallery owner Cooke Maroney, whom she married at the famed Belcourt of Newport mansion in Rhode Island in October 2019. Page Six broke the news of Lawrence and Maroney’s relationship in June 2018.

The couple confirmed they were expecting September 2021.

During a December 2021 visit to ‘The Late Show’, a pregnant Lawrence joked that she spent much of her three-year hiatus from acting between the sheets. That same month, she returned to the public eye, walking the red carpet for the ‘Don’t Look Up’ premiere.

The couple currently has a home in Manhattan, but have been seen house-hunting throughout New York, perhaps seeking a larger unit for their expanding family. They also have a home in Beverly Hills.

Hong Kong Film Festival Postponed Due To COVID Concerns

Hong Kong, February 23 (ANI): The Hong Kong International Film Festival, scheduled for the end of March, has been postponed due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis.

As per Variety, this decision follows the Hong Kong government’s moves earlier this week to extend social distancing measures until April 20, 2022. Cinemas throughout the territory have been closed on government orders since January 7. The 12-day 46th edition of HKIFF had been set for March 31- April 11. Organizers will aim to reschedule the festival and Cine Fan screenings to a date later this year.

Sources close to the festival organizers told Variety that prior to the government announcement, they had succeeded in locking in 90 per cent of the program.

The FilMart rights market and Hong Kong – Asia Film Financing Forum (HAF), which also normally operate in March, had both long ago opted for an online-only format for 2022. FilMart will run March 14-17.

The HKIFF cancellation is the second time in three years that the pandemic has forced the festival to cancel its scheduled March event. In 2021, when Hong Kong had very low levels of local coronavirus transmission, the festival was able to go ahead as a hybrid with 190 films presented at online and in-person screenings, albeit with few foreign visitors.

In pursuit of a so-called dynamic zero-COVID policy, the territory has largely self-isolated behind tough border restrictions and prolonged quarantine periods. And it had largely succeeded in taming earlier waves of the disease.

But, since the beginning of this year, the omicron variant of the disease was able to overcome these barriers and has sparked by far the territory’s most severe disease conditions, threatening the lives of many senior citizens who have been reluctant to be vaccinated.

The city government on Tuesday dialled up its measures to defeat the virus, ordering three mandatory PCR tests for all residents from March, the extension of social distancing measures, school closures and confirmation of its planned vaccine pass system.

Washington [US], February 23 (ANI): Aaron Pierre has joined Mahershala Ali in Marvel’s new film titled ‘Blade’.

The details of Pierre have not been revealed yet.

Jason Mewes Shares Sad Personal Addiction Story Involving Kevin Smith

Washington [US], February 21 (ANI): Actor Jason Mewes recently opened up about his substance addiction over the years and shared one particularly sad story that involved his close friend and filmmaker Kevin Smith.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, currently sober for 11 years, the actor spoke candidly about his battle on the latest episode of Steve-O’s Wild Ride! podcast. Mewes is best known for appearing in several of Smith’s films as half of the iconic Jay and Silent Bob duo. Mewes first played the character in ‘Clerks’, Smith’s 1994 black and white comedy that launched his career.

According to Mewes, Smith likely saved his life by forcing him to get sober several times, both for his health and so he could appear in Smith’s films, including ‘Dogma’ and ‘Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back’, among others.

Talking to Jackass star Steve-O, a fellow recovering addict, Mewes shared that he hit rock bottom a few times, one moment, in particular, stood out, which was a Thanksgiving years ago.

“I remember me and him sitting out in front of his house, and he’s crying, saying ‘I want to let you in, but the whole family is here,'” Mewes said.

Mewes added, “And I had on a tank-top on, and I had track marks. And he’s like, ‘I can’t have you see them like that.’ And I’m like, ‘I can’t come in for a plate of Thanksgiving dinner?’ And he’s like, ‘You can’t. Here, I am going to bring you some food.’ That was the first time I got sober for a while.”

Mewes explained that Smith never judged him or made him feel inferior during his struggles.

Smith would also pay for treatments, Mewes said, explaining that his friend solely wanted him to get clean and be a member of the family.

“All the trouble I had, I had Kevin’s support and I know that made a big difference in the outcome of everything,” Mewes said.

Filmmaker James Gunn Gets Engaged To Jennifer Holland

Washington [US], February 21 (ANI): Hollywood filmmaker James Gunn recently announced his engagement to longtime girlfriend and actor Jennifer Holland.

The writer-director-producer, whose credits include ‘Peacemaker’, ‘The Suicide Squad’ and the ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ franchise, took to his Instagram account and shared a picture of his longtime partner sipping from a mug while showing off a stunning diamond ring on her left ring finger.

Not only the filmmaker, but Holland also confirmed their engagement by sharing a post that showcased a photo of herself and Gunn on Instagram with a rainbow behind the couple and captioned the snap as “Happiness”.

Among those congratulating the couple in the comments section were several actors who have appeared in Gunn’s films and TV projects, including Viola Davis, Karen Gillan, Steve Agee and Daniela Melchior.

Gunn and Holland are not only romantically involved but also have worked together as well, with her playing Emilia Harcourt in ‘The Suicide Squad’ and reprising that role in ‘Peacemaker’, opposite John Cena. Her other credits include the TV series ‘Sun Records’ and ‘American Horror Story’.

As per The Hollywood Reporter, the couple has been together since 2015. They were introduced by Gunn’s friend Michael Rosenbaum, known for his role as Lex Luthor in the TV series ‘Smallville’, who was dating one of Holland’s friends at the time.

Rosenbaum had offered to set them up after the director saw a photograph of Holland and asked who she was. When Rosenbaum’s then-girlfriend approached Holland with the idea of a setup, Holland admitted she had never heard of Gunn, despite the fact he had become pretty much a popular name.

Holland told The Hollywood Reporter last month that she was initially hesitant about going out with Gunn — “She described James as a producer-director. I guess the fact that she put producer first or something, it just kind of gave me weird vibes” — before looking him up online, where he “seemed so incredibly charming in interviews.”

According to Holland, they clicked on the very first date. Talking about it, she said, “I just told him my whole life story. We spent like seven hours together and that’s it. That’s how it started.”

Gunn was previously married to ‘The Office’ star Jenna Fischer; they split in 2007 after six years of marriage.

On the work front, he is currently directing ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ for Marvel Studios, with the second season of ‘Peacemaker’ officially on the way for HBO Max.

“My favourite kind of Sunday,” she captioned the post.

Brenner died on Thursday at his home in West Hollywood, his wife confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter. Before his death, he was in post-production for James Cameron’s ‘Avatar’ sequel. Born in Hollywood, Brenner attended North Hollywood High School and Stanford before serving as an apprentice editor on the 1985 film ‘Radioactive Dreams’.

The acclaimed editor won an Oscar for his work on Oliver Stone’s ‘Born on the Fourth of July’ in 1990, which he shared with co-editor Joe Hutshing. He also teamed up with Stone for films including ‘Platoon’, ‘Salvador’, ‘Wall Street’, ‘Talk Radio’, ‘The Doors’, ‘Heaven & Earth’, ‘World Trade Center’ and ‘Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps’.

He also worked with director Zack Snyder on ‘Justice League’, ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’, ‘Man of Steel’ and the extra-long ‘Zack Snyder’s Justice League’.

He’s credited with trimming down ‘Batman v Superman’ to its theatrical cut of two hours and 31 minutes. After the superhero film hit theatres, an “ultimate edition” of the film released with 31 minutes of additional footage.

Brenner was in post-production on James Cameron’s long-awaited sci-fi sequel ‘Avatar 2’, which is scheduled to release in theatres on December 16. He was also tapped to edit ‘Avatar 3’, which shot simultaneously and is set for December 20, 2024.

Robert Pattinson Says He Was Asked To Change His Original Batman Voice

Washington [US], February 18 (ANI): Robert Pattinson recently revealed that he was asked to change his original Batman voice as it was “absolutely atrocious”.

On Jimmy Kimmel’s show, Pattinson, who will be seen in the new Batman film directed by Matt Reeves, admitted that when he took on the role of Batman, he tried to change the superhero’s typical voice – but it didn’t go down well, The Hollywood Reporter reported.

“Everyone does this kind of gruff, gravelly thing, and I’m like, I’m going to do the opposite – I’m gonna go really whispery. And I tried to do it for the first two weeks, and it just looked absolutely atrocious, and they told me to stop doing it,” he said.

However, that advice worked for good.

“I found out from Nick, who was putting me in the suit every day, that’s what Christian Bale did on Batman Begins as well. And if you listen to the first Batman Begins teaser trailer, you can hear the original voice. I only found this out a couple of weeks ago, Pattinson said.

He added, “You can feel when it feels right. You put the suit on, and you have to speak in a certain way.”

The new Batman is scheduled to release on March 4.

Julia Fox, Kanye West Call It Quits After Whirlwind Romance

Washington [US], February 15 (ANI): Over a month after rapper Kanye West and actor Julia Fox first sparked romance rumours, the duo has called it quits.

A rep for the ‘Uncut Gems’ actor confirmed to People magazine in a statement, “Julia and Kanye remain good friends and collaborators but they are no longer together.” Fox recently wrote in a since-deleted statement, captured and re-shared by the Pop Crave Twitter account and TMZ, “Y’all would love if I was soooo upset! The media would love to paint a picture of me a sad lonely woman crying on a plane by myself but it’s NOT TRUE!! Why not see me for what I am which is a #1 hustler. I came up yall lol and not only that but Kanye and I are on good terms! I have love for him but I wasn’t in love w the man Jesus Christ what do u guys think I am 12 years old?!”

She added, denying reports that she was crying at an airport over the split: “and for the record the only time I cried in 2022 was on Feb 6th on my dead BFF bday. Anyway If u want the full tea ur gonna have to buy the book when it comes out.”

A source told People magazine a few days ago that Fox and West’s whirlwind romance was winding down.

“Kanye and Julia both have separate busy lives. Julia lives in New York City and Kanye has been in Los Angeles. The distance makes it hard,” the source said.

“They are still in touch and will see each other when they can. Kanye really likes her. It’s fair to say that they have cooled off a bit, though,” the source added.

The Grammy-winning rapper and 32-year-old actor first sparked romance rumours over the New Year’s Eve holiday after spending time together in Miami. The stars then took their budding romance to New York City, where they were photographed on multiple outings together.

Days later, on January 6, Fox dished on the duo’s chemistry in an essay for Interview magazine.

“It was an instant connection. His energy is so fun to be around. He had me and my friends laughing, dancing, and smiling all night,” she wrote at the time.

West and Fox, whom she dubbed ‘Juliye’, made their red carpet debut as a couple on January 23 at Paris Men’s Fashion Week. He later helped the actor celebrate her 32nd birthday on February 2, arranging for an extravagant celebration at Lucien in New York City.

Fox recently praised their relationship when she said they’d been having “a lot” of ” ‘us’ and ‘we’ conversations.” She said on the Call Her Daddy podcast: “He wants me to be the best version of myself. That is always the conversation. Always. Like how am I gonna live up to my full potential, which I think is amazing.”

Last month, Fox said on her Forbidden Fruits podcast that her relationship with the musician was not a PR stunt. She said, “There’s always people that think every single celebrity scandal is a setup. I personally don’t.”

Fox added at the time that they were taking it day by day and seeing where things go:

“Listen, for right now, I’m just living in the moment and I don’t have any expectations — there’s no labels, none of that. It’s just people that make each other feel better.”

West split from his wife Kim Kardashian in February 2021 after nearly seven years of marriage. She’s been dating comedian Pete Davidson since October.

On Valentine’s Day, West took to Instagram to confess he’s still hoping for a reunion with Kim.

“I DON’T HAVE BEEF WITH KIM I LOVE MY FAMILY SO STOP THAT NARRATIVE IM NOT GIVING UP ON MY FAMILY,” he wrote alongside a recent photo of Kim and Pete.

He added, “I BOUGHT THIS COAT FOR KIM BEFORE SNL I THOUGHT IT WAS PARTICULARLY SPECIAL I HAVE FAITH THAT WE’LL BE BACK TOGETHER.”

Kim, who shares four kids with the rapper, has not responded to his public plea.

Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes, Regina Hall To Host Oscars 2022

Washington [US], February 15 (ANI): The 2022 Academy Awards are shaping up to be an exciting show. Amy Schumer, Wanda Sykes and Regina Hall are in final negotiations to host the 2022 Oscars ceremony.

As per Variety, the three comic forces are finalising details to host this year’s Academy Awards. The three stars appear to be the only emcees in the mix for the award ceremony, despite several scenarios that telecast creatives have been discussing. Producer Will Packer has been in meetings for weeks trying to find the right recipe for Hollywood’s biggest night.

Scenarios that Packer had been toying with included a three-act structure, which would showcase a different pair of emcees every hour. A laundry list of top talent has met with Packer over the past weeks, including ‘Mad Men’ star Jon Hamm who exited talks over the weekend, according to sources.

The hosts will be formally announced on ‘Good Morning America’ soon. On Sunday, Schumer posted a lengthy Instagram slideshow with some of her biggest career highlights, with the ominous caption “Big fun news comin.'”

If the final negotiations go as planned then each emcee will host one hour of the show. This marks the first time in three years that the Oscars will have a host. Jimmy Kimmel last hosted the ceremony in 2018 and 2017.

Other hosts in the past decade have included Chris Rock, Neil Patrick Harris, Ellen DeGeneres, Seth MacFarlane, Billy Crystal and the dual partnership of James Franco and Anne Hathaway.

In 2018, Kevin Hart was announced as the host for the 2019 Oscars but the comedian-actor stepped down from the role after the organisation that hosts the event, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, asked him to apologise for past homophobic tweets made by Hart.

“I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year’s Oscar’s….this is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists. I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past,” Hart tweeted in December 2018.

“I’m sorry that I hurt people.. I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart. Much love & appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again,” he added at the time.

Interest in hosting the Oscars is still strong in Hollywood circles. Tom Holland expressed his interest in December, telling The Hollywood Reporter he would say yes to hosting the 2022 show if approached.

Reports about who might host this year’s Oscars have been circulating for weeks, with names including Pete Davidson and Jon Hamm in contention. At one point, rumours surfaced that producers were considering a trio made up of the ‘Only Murders in the Building’ cast: Selena Gomez, Martin Short and Steve Martin.

The Academy announced this year’s nominees earlier this month. ‘The Power of the Dog’ led the pack with 12 total nominations, followed by ‘Dune’ with 10 nods and ‘Belfast’ and ‘West Side Story’ with seven each.

The 94th annual Academy Awards will be held at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre on March 27.

Marvel Drops New Trailer For ‘Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness’

Washington [US], February 14 (ANI): Unveiling new secrets, Marvel has dropped a second trailer for ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’, which is slated to hit theatres on May 6.

It included a peek at Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch potentially breaking bad, and a brief audio cameo from what sure sounded like Patrick Stewart reviving his role as Professor X from the ‘X-Men’ series. The first trailer for ‘Multiverse of Madness’, which was originally released as a post-credit scene for ‘No Way Home’ last December, had shown a glimpse of the Doctor Strange-Wanda meet-up, action-packed battle scenes and someone who appears to be an evil, alternate version of Doctor Strange, who originally appeared in the animated Disney Plus series ‘What If…?’.

The new trailer sees Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) waking up from a nightmare and dealing with the aftermath of his spell in ‘No Way Home’ that resulted in the multiverse being opened up.

As the sorcerous wakes up startled, shaken by the visions, his reality is no less than a nightmare either. Towards the end, viewers meet Strange’s twin from another universe, Strange Supreme, which promises nothing but chaos for the universes.

In addition to Cumberbatch and Olsen, ‘Multiverse of Madness’ will also see the return of Benedict Wong as Wong, Rachel McAdams as Dr. Christine Palmer and Chiwetel Ejiofor as Karl Mordo. Xochitl Gomez will make her MCU debut as America Chavez.

The movie has been directed by Sam Raimi. Michael Waldron and Jade Halley Bartlett wrote the script. Its May 6 release date has come after a year-long delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Who publically calls Kim Kardashian as his ‘girlfriend’?

Washington [US](ANI): After keeping their romance a private affair for months, ‘Saturday Night Live’ star Pete Davidson publicly referred to Kim Kardashian as his ‘girlfriend’ for the first time on Monday.

In an interview with People (the TV Show!), Davidson discussed how his heightened fame had led to a more “fun” lifestyle.
The 28-year-old comedian said that most of his days consist of him “showing up to a set” or hanging with friends or his “girlfriend.”

“Or, if I’m off, I just either hang with my friends or chill with my girlfriend inside. So I don’t do much,” Davidson said referring to Kardashian.

For the unversed, this statement marks the first time that he or Kardashian have publicly addressed the status of their relationship.

The pair first sparked romance rumours in October 2021, when they were seen holding hands while riding a roller coaster at Knott’s Scary Farm in Buena Park, California.

Since then, the lovebirds have made the most of their romance. They have travelled to the Bahamas, had a pyjama party with Kardashian and her mom Kris Jenner, and most recently had an escape room date with Kardashian’s sister Khloe Kardashian.

An insider also told People magazine earlier that Davidson entering Kardashian’s life has been a refreshing welcome after her split from rapper Kanye West, with whom she shares four kids: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm. (ANI)Iinstagram Pic)

Machine Gun Kelly reveals he accidentally stabbed himself to impress Megan Fox

Washington [US]: Rapper and songwriter Machine Gun Kelly has revealed that he once accidentally stabbed himself with a knife while trying to impress Megan Fox.

According to Fox News, Kelly, who has now started to go by his legal name Colson Baker, recalled the moment during an appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’. After the comedian brought up a story Pete Davidson had told during his own appearance on the show, Kelly told Fallon, “It was just a bad night.”
Davidson had revealed that Kelly had bruised his coccyx after the two fell off the stage at ‘Saturday Night Live’. The ‘Bad Things’ singer explained that his coccyx wasn’t the only thing he hurt that night.

At the time, the musician had just started dating Fox and in order to impress he decided to do a trick at home with a knife gifted to him by pal Travis Barker. Kelly admitted he threw the knife up in the air, but instead of watching it, he watched Fox.

“That was from when a knife stuck in,” Kelly said as he showed Fallon the scar and added, “‘Cause, you know how you throw it up, and you’re supposed to catch it? I looked at [Fox], and I was like, ‘Check this out.’ And I was like, ‘Ugh!'” He then recalled, “The next morning, as soon as she left, I was like, ‘Yo, I need stitches real quick.'”

Fox and Kelly reportedly began seeing each other in March 2020 while the two were filming ‘Midnight in the Switchgrass’. Fox, who was married to actor Brian Austin Green at the time, went on to file for divorce in November 2020.

The director of the film had opened up about the chemistry he noticed between the actors on set. Randall Emmett explained, “As a director, I felt, ‘Wow, there’s some real magic happening there,’ but I didn’t see any more than that.”

“They’re both incredible actors, and their chemistry was flawless. I was just looking at them and thinking, ‘Wow, that was a great scene,’ but didn’t really think about anything else,” he added, as per Fox News.

Dan Levy reveals why he needed a neck brace while shooting for ‘Schitt’s Creek’

Washington [US] : As a writer, showrunner and star of the hit sitcom ‘Schitt’s Creek’, actor Dan Levy wore many hats throughout the five-year run of the beloved show. But with many roles and responsibilities, come some setbacks.
The actor recently revealed that while working on the Emmy-winning show, he endured some physical struggles behind the scenes. He said that the many responsibilities resulted in so much physical stress that he at one point required a neck brace, reported The Hollywood Reporter. The star has previously spoken about his lack of social life while working on the hit show. The social isolation was largely driven, he said in a new interview with British GQ, by his many creative roles on the show which required long hours and saw him get little sleep.
Levy told the magazine that his days would start at 5 am when he would drive to the set before rehearsing and rewriting scenes, make wardrobe and set decisions, approve budgets, and go on to film — sometimes as an actor and other times as a director.
That was on top of spending several hours running the show’s writer’s room. By the time he went home, he’d only have time to quickly eat before returning to write until about 2 am.
The star admitted that for some weeks, “I didn’t sleep more than eight hours.”
That physically demanding schedule only got worse as the seasons went on. “Because the more we built the show, the more proud of it I was. And the more I wanted to create more compelling and dimensional stories, the more we wanted to expand our world,” he said.
That hyper-focus on the series led to increasing stress, and by the show’s sixth season, it was so bad he required a neck brace.
“The anxiety in my neck was so bad I couldn’t move it,” he explained.
“At one point there was an acupuncturist and a chiropractor coming to set every day at lunch to work on my neck so that I could actually perform and not, you know, look like I needed a neck brace,” he added.
The pandemic, the actor shared, gave him a much-appreciated opportunity to pause and be with his family in Toronto. “It was actually kind of amazing,” he said. “Like, whenever would you have the time to reset like that?”
With ‘Schitt’s Creek’ behind him and the pandemic offering him a chance to recalibrate, Levy shared that he’s started working on his latest creative project — a gay rom-com.
“I’ve always wanted to make a romcom,” he said.
He added, “I’ve always wanted to be in one. And as a gay person, you don’t ever get that kind of opportunity. You get to play the zany friend or Pepe the coworker. So I’m really excited and honoured to have that opportunity: to put a gay person front and centre in a rom-com.”

Adele opens up about her upcoming album ’30’

Grammy-winning singer Adele recently opened up about her forthcoming album ’30’, her divorce and her inevitable return to the spotlight.

Washington [US], October 8 : As per Variety, Adele had her first sit-down interview in five years with British Vogue. The star, who gave her last one-on-one interview in 2016, said, “I have to sort of gear myself up to be famous again, which, famously, I don’t really like being.” In the past five years, the ‘Hello’ star has been raising her son Angelo and gotten married and divorced from her now ex-husband, Simon Konecki.
Adele said the new album explains her life changes but is ultimately a letter to her now 9-year-old son.
“My son has had a lot of questions. Really good questions, really innocent questions, that I just don’t have an answer for … (like) why can’t you still live together?… I just felt like I wanted to explain to him, through this record, when he’s in his twenties or thirties, who I am and why I voluntarily chose to dismantle his entire life in the pursuit of my own happiness. It made him really unhappy sometimes. And that’s a real wound for me that I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to heal,” she said.
Adele married the businessman in 2018 when she was 30 — the titular name of the album — and said the record will encourage those lost in a relationship to move on.
She said, “Can you imagine couples listening to it in the car? It’d be so awkward. I think a lot of women are going to be like, ‘I’m done.'”
The star explained what she hopes for in ’30’, comparing it to her two previous blockbusters: “I was drunk as a fart on ’21’; I really don’t remember much, I just remember being really sad. On ’25,’ I was obviously sober as anything because I was a new mum. That one, I was sort of more in tune with what I thought people might want or not want. With this one, I made the very conscious decision to be like, for the first time in my life, actually, ‘What do I want?'”
What she wanted, in part, was to resume working with Greg Kurstin, who paired famously well with her on ’25’, and Max Martin, Inflo (known for his work with Sault) and Swedish composer and producer Ludwig Goransson, who won an Academy Award for his ‘Black Panther’ score and has worked closely with Childish Gambino. There are no featured guests on the record.
Ultimately, Adele said ’30’ contains a rollercoaster of emotion: “I feel like this album is self-destruction, then self-reflection and then sort of self-redemption. But I feel ready. I really want people to hear my side of the story this time.”
Adele also appeared on the cover of the American edition of Vogue, with a completely different story as well as different cover shoots. It marks the first time the same person has fronted both Vogues simultaneously.
‘Easy On Me’, the first single from ’30’, is dropping on October 15.
