Delhi’s air quality remains in ‘very poor’ category, likely to improve from Friday

New Delhi [India]: The air quality in the national capital continued to remain in the ‘very poor’ quality, with the overall Air Quality Index (AQI) at 337 on Thursday morning but it is predicted to improve from Friday due to a likely high wind speed.According to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR), the concentrations of PM 2.5 and PM 10 stood at 168 in the ‘very poor’ and 284 in the ‘poor’ category respectively. “AQI today indicates ‘Very Poor’ air quality. A shallow foggy condition is likely to keep AQI poor for the next two days. On 16th air quality is going to improve and from 17th onwards significant improvement is likely due to high wind speeds that keep AQI within ‘poor’ or ‘lower end of very poor’ category,” SAFAR said in its bulletin.The air quality in Noida and…

Kerala to conduct exams for over 1 lakh students in physical mode from Friday

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala) [India]: Amidst the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the schools in Kerala on Friday started conducting exams in physical mode for over one lakh class 11 and vocational higher secondary students.Speaking to ANI, Kerala Director of General Education Jeevan Babu said, “After getting permission from Supreme Court, we have started conducting exams for class 11 and vocational higher secondary students in physical classes from today. The exams will end on October 18.” Keeping in place all the COVID-19 protocols, students in the Government Vocational Higher Secondary School of Thiruvananthapuram’s Manacaud were seen appearing for the exams.“We have conducted meetings at various levels for conducting these exams. Veteran Actor Naseeruddin Shah Expected To Be Discharged On Friday

On Wednesday, Naseeruddin Shah’s wife and actor Ratna Pathak Shah said that he had a ‘small patch’ of pneumonia in his lungs and was undergoing treatment for the same. Veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah, who is undergoing treatment for pneumonia at a hospital here, is doing well and is expected to be discharged on Friday, his secretary said on Thursday. The 70-year-old actor was admitted to the Khar-based PD Hinduja Hospital & Medical Research Centre, a non-Covid-19 facility, on Tuesday. “He is doing well.
