Asha Bhosle Became Emotional Remembering Didi Lata Mangeshkar

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], March 29 (ANI): Legendary singer Asha Bhosle became emotional during the photo installation ceremony of her late sister and India’s nightingale Lata Mangeshkar at Deenanath Mangeshkar Natyamandir Hall in Mumbai.

Mai, Baba and I are always there for you.’ Now after her, whose blessings should I seek? Whom should I tell my troubles? When we were very young, then Baba left, and after Mai, Lata didi took care of us all as a father, and today after her. We all have become orphans. I never thought that all this would happen so soon. She should have been with us guiding us for at least a few more years.”

Everything announced at Apple event 2021: iPhone 13, Apple Watch Series 7 and more

Washington [US]: After months of rumours and leaks, Apple held its highly-anticipated September event on Tuesday and unveiled a slew of products including the iPhone 13, Apple Watch Series 7, an all-new iPad mini, and more.
If you want to know everything announced during the California Streaming product launch event, we have got you covered. Here’s a quick recap of all the announcements to emerge from Apple’s fall event: 1. Four new iPhone 13 models
The Cupertino tech giant unveiled four new iPhone models: the iPhone 13, iPhone13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max at the event.
In terms of design, the series is quite similar to the iPhone 12, but the notch is around 20 per cent smaller in width.
The iPhone 13 mini and iPhone 13 feature improved Super Retina XDR OLED displays with a 28 per cent increase in max outdoor brightness and a higher peak brightness for HDR content such as photos and videos.
According to 9to5Mac, Apple also said that the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini include a “massive leap in camera design” with a new Wide camera that gathers 47 per cent more light for less noise and brighter images. Apple has also added sensor-shift optical image stabilization to the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini, a feature that was previously exclusive to the iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Apple said that this “stabilizes the sensor instead of the lens so shots are more steady, while the custom-designed Ultra-Wide camera with a new sensor captures images with more detail in the dark areas of photos and videos with less noise.”
The iPhone 13 also introduced a new Cinematic mode feature, which records videos of people, pets, and objects with a depth effect and automatic focus changes. This is similar to the Portrait mode feature that has been available for still images.
Apple said that users can change the focus during and after capture, and adjust the level of bokeh in the Photos app and iMovie, reported 9to5Mac.
Apple is also introducing something that it calls Photographic Styles, which it describes as customized preferences and filters that intelligently apply the right adjustments to different parts of the photo to ensure the important elements, like skin tones, are preserved.
The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini are both powered by Apple’s newest A15 Bionic processor, but more details on performance improvements compared to the iPhone 12 are unclear currently. Efficiency improvements, however, have led to improved battery life, with the iPhone 13 offering up to two and a half more hours than iPhone 12, and iPhone 13 mini up to an hour and a half more than iPhone 12 mini.
Pricing for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini is the same as their predecessors, but the base configuration storage has been doubled. The iPhone 13 mini starts at USD 699 for 128GB of storage, while the iPhone 13 starts at USD 799. Both devices will be available to pre-order on Friday in red, starlight, midnight, pink, and blue.
Apple also introduced the new iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, its two flagship iPhones for the year. Similarly, there are few changes to the design with these devices, but you do get a slightly smaller notch and a much larger camera bump on the back.
The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are powered by the A15 Bionic processor and offer many of the same camera features as the non-Pro models, including Cinematic mode for video, Photographic Styles, and more.
The iPhone 13 Pro and Pro Max do have their share of exclusive features. Both models feature an Ultra-Wide camera with a 92 per cent boost in low light performance, auto-focus, and a 6-element lens. There are also some other camera features including Macro photography, Smart HDR 4, ProRes video recording and Night mode for all three cameras.
In terms of battery life, the iPhone 13 Pro will last up to one and a half hours longer per charge than iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max will last up to two and a half hours longer per charge than iPhone 12 Pro Max.
Both the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will include new ProMotion displays for the first time. This brings an adaptive refresh rate display to the iPhone several years after it first came to the iPad Pro. The display supports an adaptive refresh rate from 10Hz to 120Hz.
The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are priced the same as their predecessors, starting at USD 999 and USD 1099 respectively. Notably, there is also a new 1TB storage configuration for the first time. The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max will be available to pre-order on Friday in graphite, gold, silver, and sierra blue.
2. Apple Watch Series 7
The tech giant also unveiled the Apple Watch Series 7. Unlike rumours had predicted, the Apple Watch Series 7 features a similar design to its predecessor, with rounded edges rather than flat edges. The Series 7 is compatible with all previous Apple Watch bands.
The Apple Watch Series 7 is, however, available in new 41mm and 45mm sizes, just as rumours had predicted. This means you get larger displays on both models, with Apple saying the bezels are 40 per cent smaller, leading to a 20 per cent increase in screen size, reported 9to5Mac.
Other notable improvements include 33 per cent faster speeds for charging, with Apple saying it will now take 45 minutes to go from 0 to 80 per cent. This new charging method will use USB-C and the current magnetic charging puck.
In terms of finishes, the Apple Watch Series 7 is available in five different aluminium colours: green, blue, red, starlight, and silver. Stainless steel and titanium colours are unchanged from Series 6: silver, graphite, gold, natural, and space black.
However, there is no official release date for the new Apple Watch just yet. Apple Watch Series 7 will be available ‘later this fall’ according to the company.
3. New entry-level iPad
Apple also launched the new entry-level iPad, marking its ninth-generation update. The new iPad is powered by Apple’s A13 Bionic processor inside, which the company says provides a 20 per cent boost in performance. With this update, the entry-level iPad is now 6x faster than the best-selling Android tablet and 3x faster than the best-selling Chromebook.
In terms of design, the new iPad is largely the same as its predecessor with a 10.2-inch design. One notable change is that True Tone display technology is now available on the entry-level iPad. This feature adjusts screen content to the colour temperature of a room.
As per 9to5Mac, the iPad 9 has also added a new Ultra Wide front-facing with support for the Center Stage feature, which automatically pans the camera to keep users in view as they move around.
Apple has also doubled the base storage configuration from 32GB to 64GB for the same USD 329 starting price. The new ninth-generation iPad is available to order now.
4. iPad mini
iPad mini was also launched at the event and has gotten a complete and drastic redesign. The new iPad mini features an 8.3-inch display with slim bezels around the sides.
The Home button has been removed in favour of a new Touch ID-equipped power button. On the bottom, you’ll find USB-C connectivity. There’s also support for the second-generation Apple Pencil.
The iPad mini is powered by Apple’s newest A15 Bionic processor. Apple said that the 6-core CPU delivers a 40 per cent jump in performance, and the 5-core GPU delivers an 80 per cent jump in graphics performance compared to the previous generation of iPad mini, reported 9to5Mac.
Just like the entry-level iPad, the new iPad mini also features an ultra-wide front-facing camera with Center Stage support. The back camera now features a 12MP sensor with Focus Pixels and a larger aperture. The iPad mini also packs support for 5G connectivity for the first time ever.
The new iPad mini is available to order now with prices starting at USD 499 for 64GB of storage. You can upgrade to 256GB and cellular connectivity for a higher price.
5. Tidbits and wrap up
In addition to the new hardware, Apple announced that it will release its next round of software updates, including iOS 15, watchOS 8, and iPadOS 15, on September 20. The company also announced new features for Apple Fitness+ and teased its upcoming TV shows and movies launching on Apple TV+.
6. Notably absent from the event
Several leaks and tips suggested that Tuesday will bring the first look at the AirPods 3. These were not supposed to replace the AirPods 2. Instead, they were to arrive at a higher price than the earlier model, which retails for USD 159. However, AirPods 3 and new Macs were not unveiled at the event. This means that Apple still has more up its sleeve to hold another special event sometime in October or November.

Philanthropist Sudha Reddy Represents India At Met Gala 2021

Philanthropist Sudha Reddy, the wife of billionaire businessman Megha Krishna Reddy, has made her debut at Met Gala 2021. She was the only Indian to attend fashion’s biggest night.

For her maiden Met Gala look, Sudha chose to wear an opulent military-inspired haute couture by Falguni Shane Peacock. Inspired by American revolution, Sudha’s outfit was a bright gold sculptured gown with a dramatic 4-meter metallic train with medley of hues borrowed from the American flag. It was adorned with 3D embellishments of Swarovski crystals, sequins and bugle beads along the gown’s train.

Farah Khan Ali’s ornate diamond ear cuffs, Chanel sequined gold stilettos and the bedazzled Judith Leiber Ganesha clutch served as an exquisite combination to Sudha’s regal look.

Sharing her experience of attending the Met Gala, she said, “The Met Gala has been one of the most aspirational landmark events in the world of style, one that is keenly admired by fashion greats. Monday evening’s intimate gathering was special and memorable.”

She added, “It was an extremely rewarding outing for me as I was able to exchange notes with many notable personalities, some of who are extremely keen to explore socio-economic welfare campaigns in association with the Sudha Reddy Foundation in the future. I am extremely humbled and honoured to have received this opportunity to represent my country at this eclectic fashion parade.”

The Met Gala’s red carpet was a star-studded affair. Celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, and Lil Nas X among several others attended the event.

Ahead of Apple’s event, new iPhone and AirPods details revealed

Washington [US]: A day before Apple’s Calfornia Streaming event, new details regarding the upcoming iPhone series and other products have emerged.
The details come straight from Ming-Chi Kuo, a top Apple analyst who is known for tipping details on the company’s upcoming products before they are revealed. So while none of this is confirmed, it’s probably a reliable expectation-setter. On the iPhone front, Kuo predicts three storage options for the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Mini: 128 GB, 256 GB, and 512 GB. That means the 64 GB option — which is too small at this point for most uses — is gone, reported Mashable.
The larger iPhone model is also said to be getting a storage tweak but in the opposite direction. The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Max will reportedly be available with four storage options; the same three mentioned above, plus a new 1 TB model that’s a first for iPhones.
Kuo sounded a note of caution for those hoping to score one of the new iPhones right away, however. Ongoing component shortages around the world could come for Apple as well.
But the investor report suggested that this could also be more of a risk for older models only, presumably because Apple knows its latest devices are the most sought-after and therefore devoted more manufacturing to the new stuff.
As per Mashable, there is also some news coming on the AirPods front, with Kuo suggesting that Tuesday will bring our first look at the AirPods 3. These apparently won’t replace the AirPods 2. Instead, they will either arrive at a higher price than the earlier model, which retails for USD 159, or they will prompt a price drop for the AirPods 2. But either way, it sounds like both models will continue to exist for now.
The AirPods 3 are expected to feature a redesign that puts them closer in form to the AirPods Pro, released in 2019. The new model reportedly won’t offer active noise cancellation but it will feature head-tracking Spatial Audio. That’s apparently it for the AirPods, though; Kuo doesn’t expect an update for the Pro until 2022.
All the rumours and speculations regarding the upcoming products will be put to rest with the Apple event, which is scheduled to take place tomorrow at 1:00 pm ET.

Apple confirms September 14 event, expected to unveil iPhone 13

Washington [US]: Apple recently announced that it will be holding an event on September 14. The company is expected to launch the iPhone 13 series during its event titled ‘California Streaming’.
As per The Verge, it will be another virtual event broadcast from Apple Park. The tech giant typically announces the year’s new iPhones at the fall event, and this year’s entry is expected to be called the iPhone 13. The new series of phones will apparently come in the same sizes as the iPhone 12, but a headline feature for some models could be high refresh rate screens, finally delivering tech that has been available on many Android phones.
The new phones are also expected to have smaller display notches and improved cameras.

It’s hard to pull specific clues from Apple’s event invite, though the darkening sky might suggest we’ll see improved night mode photography. And the glowing Apple logo is maybe hinting toward an always-on lock screen for the iPhone.
If Apple reveals the next iPhone at the event as expected, then it seems likely the company will also share a release date for iOS 15. We already know that one of its biggest features, SharePlay, won’t be included in the initial public release of the software.
Apple has several other projects in the works that could make appearances at the event as well. The next Apple Watch, reportedly called the Apple Watch Series 7, is rumoured to have a new design with flatter edges and larger 41mm and 45mm screens, a 1mm bump from the Series 6.
Apple’s next entry-level AirPods may have a new design that takes cues from the AirPods Pro. New 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros equipped with the company’s custom-designed chips and an SD card slot are also rumoured to be on the way.
The California Streaming event will be live-streamed on Apple.com, which can be viewed through any desktop or mobile browser. Moreover, you can also watch the event on an Apple TV or any device with the Apple TV app.

Hyderabad (Telangana) [India]: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Nirmal district on September 17 on Telangana Liberation Day and address an event on the occasion, BJP Adilabad MP Soyam Bapu Rao informed on Tuesday.
Rao said that the Telangana government has not been celebrating the Telangana Liberation Day on September 17, under the pressure of the AIMIM party. “BJP has several times raised voice against the government to celebrate September 17 as Liberation Day, the day on which Telangana got freedom from Nizam rule,” he said.

Justin Bieber Becomes Most Listened To Artist On Spotify

Pop star Justin Bieber has been breaking several records since his comeback to the music industry after a long hiatus. The singer recently hit a major milestone by attracting the most listeners ever on the audio streaming giant Spotify.

The ‘Sorry’ star broke the record this week by raking in the most monthly listeners on Spotify over the course of the streaming platform’s history, with a whopping number of 83.3 million listeners as his ‘Justice’ album continues to surge on the charts, according to TMZ. On a related note, his hit single with The Kid LAROI, ‘Stay’also continues to cruise at number one, several weeks after its release.

Speaking about Justin’s Spotify lead, the star is far ahead of other fellow pop singers. Grammy award-winning singer- The Weeknd ranks at number two with 74.5 million monthly listeners, Ed Sheeran is at number 3 with 72.4. And his female competitors even further behind.

Before Justin, Ariana Grande held the record with 82 million monthly listeners.

Kim Kardashian, Kanye West Recreate Their Wedding At ‘Donda’ Listening Event

For the Chicago listening session of ‘Donda’ recently, rapper Kanye West appeared to relive his wedding to ex-wife Kim Kardashian and fans couldn’t believe their eyes.

Kanye’s long-awaited album’s third listening party featured plenty of guest appearances including musicians DaBaby and Marilyn Manson, for which the rapper came under fire. But fans got excited when his ex-wife Kim appeared wearing a wedding dress at the event.

According to E! News, the audience at the event was stunned by the final song when Kanye appeared to be set on fire and then was greeted by a woman, who wore a Balenciaga Couture wedding gown and a veil covering her face–which was indeed the rapper’s ex-wife Kim.

With her face covered with a veil, the beauty mogul, in a viral video could be seen stepping out in a bridal dress during the final song of the night ‘No Child Left Behind’.

Kim’s sisters, Kylie Jenner and Khloe Kardashian, also reacted to the moment on their social media handles.

Kylie, who is expecting her second child with Travis Scott, took to her Instagram Story and shared a string of snaps of the special Kim-Kanye moment.

Meanwhile, Khloe took to her Twitter handle at the end of the night to post, “insanely beautiful!!!”
E! News also obtained a viral video posted by a fan account, in which Kanye and the bride could be seen holding hands as they made their way out of the venue after the album had finished playing.

Apart from this, Kanye’s event brought plenty of other shockers. Fans observed that contributions from both Jay-Z and Kid Cudi, which were heard during previous versions of the album, were not included in this third listening event.

The major surprising contributions were from DaBaby and Marilyn Manson. DaBaby, who recently faced backlash over homophobic comments he made earlier this summer appeared to replace Jay-Z with his verse. He was captured standing on the replica of Kanye’s childhood home’s porch at the stadium.

Meanwhile, Marilyn was also seen standing on the porch of the home throughout the event, reported E! News.

Marilyn has been facing several lawsuits, alleging him of rape and physical assault. In May, he was accused by a former partner of rape and assault, and in February, he denied other allegations of abuse against him.

Another star who joined the porch was dancehall singer Shenseea. The singer posted an image of herself on her Instagram Story after the event.

As per E! News, one song that was missing from the latest version of the album was one in which Kanye sang about losing his family, which was heard during both of the previous listening events.
The first listening event was held at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium on July 22, and the second was held at the same venue on August 5.

Kim was a spectator in the crowd for the first two events, joined by the couple’s kids- 8-year-old North West, 5-year-old Saint West, 3-year-old Chicago West, and 2-year-old Psalm West.

‘Donda’ is named after the Grammy winner’s late mother Donda West, who died at the age of 58 following plastic surgery complications in 2007.

With an original release date set in 2020, then on July 23, 2021, and again on August 6, 2021, it is still unclear when the official album of ‘Donda’ will drop.

Many more will be coming, of course, to fill out a three-hour slot on the way to the telecast going live on September 12 at 8 pm ET/PT.

The 2021 show has Bruce Gillmer and Jesse Ignjatovic as its executive producers, Barb Bialkowski as co-executive producer, Alicia Portugal and Jackie Barba as executives in charge of production, Wendy Plaut as an executive in charge of celebrity talent and Lisa Lauricella as music talent executive.

Stevie Nicks Cancels Upcoming Concert Due To Covid-19

American singer Stevie Nicks, who is best known for her songs ‘The Chain’, ‘Blue Denim’ and ‘Rooms on Fire’, has cancelled her upcoming concerts due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Nicks was supposed to perform at the BottleRock Napa Valley in California and the Jazz Aspen Festival in Colorado in September. In October, she was scheduled to perform both weekends at Austin City Limits. Opening up about her decision, Nicks said: “These are challenging times with challenging decisions that have to be made. I want everyone to be safe and healthy and the rising Covid cases should be of concern to all of us. While I’m vaccinated, at my age, I am still being extremely cautious and for that reason have decided to skip the 5 performances I had planned for 2021.”

The 73-year-old does not want people to neglect their health.

“Because singing and performing have been my whole life, my primary goal is to keep healthy so I can continue singing for the next decade or longer,” Nicks’ statement said. “I’m devastated and I know the fans are disappointed, but we will look towards a brighter 2022,” she added.

After Nick’s decision, several festivals announce replacement acts. Singer Chris Stapleton will take Nicks’ place at BottleRock.

What to expect from Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event

Seoul [South Korea]: Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Unpacked 2021 event is around the corner and it is expected to put the spotlight back on foldable devices.
As per Mashable, two foldable phones along with a Galaxy Watch will be unveiled at the event, which is set to take place soon. You can watch the event on August 11 at 7 am PT or 10 am ET via live stream on Samsung’s site. But if you’re feeling impatient, you can read on about all the devices we think will be unveiled in the next few days.
Two new foldable phones
Samsung’s invite for this year’s event was pretty revealing. The invite revealed the shapes that clearly resembled the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Flip 3.
Shortly after the invite was sent out, Samsung president and head of mobile communications business, Tae Moon Roh, published a blog post revealing that people will see two foldable devices at Unpacked — “third-generation foldables” to be exact.
Samsung is saving specifications, features, and names for the event. But as usual, we can glean plenty from rumours and leaks.
Starting with the Z Fold 3, we could see a 7.6-inch AMOLED display on the inside and a 6.2-inch AMOLED cover screen — both of which boast 120Hz refresh rates. The Z Fold 3 might feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 processor, a 4,400mAh battery, and 12GB of RAM coupled with either 256GB or 512GB of internal storage.
As for the cameras, the third-generation Z Fold may feature a 10-megapixel front-facing camera, and a triple-camera setup complete with a 12-megapixel main camera, ultra-wide-angle sensor, and telephoto lens.
The Z Fold 3 could be available in three different colours: black, silver, and green. It’s also already been confirmed the Z Fold 3 will receive S-Pen support. But Samsung remains tight-lipped on features and design.
The Z Flip 3, which has a clamshell form factor, will feature a Snapdragon 888 processor, a 3,300mAh battery, and a 6.7-inch AMOLED internal display (445 PPI) with a 120Hz refresh rate.
The external display could be bigger this time around, coming in at 1.9-inches as opposed to 1.1-inches on the previous Z Flip models. The Z Flip 3 might include 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage, along with the Snapdragon 888 processor.
The camera specs appear to be unchanged from the original version. The first-generation Z Flip also featured a 12-megapixel main sensor, 12-megapixel wide-angle camera, and a 10-megapixel front-facing lens.
As for colours, the Z Flip could be available in black, cream, green, and lavender.
Galaxy Buds 2
People might also get to see new earbuds from Samsung. As a follow-up to the original Galaxy Buds, which launched in 2019, it looks like the second-generation version is finally on its way.
The upcoming buds could feature active noise cancellation (ANC). The buds might be available in colours like yellow, purple, white, dark green, and black.
Additionally, the Galaxy Buds 2 appear to pack bigger batteries than the original version. It looks like Samsung has increased the battery per bud from 58mAh to 61mAh. The charging case battery is also bigger at 472mAh versus 252mAh.
As for battery life, Buds 2 are said to offer eight hours (with ANC off), which is two hours more than the Galaxy Buds. Of course, you’ll get additional juice when you put them in the charging case.
Galaxy Watch 4 series
The tech giant already confirmed that a Galaxy Watch was on the way when it announced its One UI Watch interface last June. While we already know it is going to be the first smartwatch to feature WearOS 3, what’s in store for the hardware has been kept under wraps.
Samsung is planning on launching not one but two smartwatches: Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. It lists four versions total: a 40mm and 44mm Galaxy Watch 4, along with a 42mm and 46mm Classic.
While it appears both smartwatches will have the same processor and sensors, it looks like the Watch 4 Classic will be available in larger sizes with larger batteries. Size differences aside, it seems like the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is more upscale while the Galaxy Watch 4 has a more casual look — similar to the Galaxy Watch Active.
The 46mm smartwatch might have a 1.3-inch Super AMOLED display. And it looks like it is set to include sensors like a heart rate monitor, ECG, and GPS. It might also include a host of fitness and health features like step count, calories burned, sleep-tracking (with snore detection), active heart-rate monitoring, period tracking, and more.
The Galaxy Watch 4 Classic will have a rotating bezel (which is very reminiscent of the original Galaxy Watch lineup). The 44mm version of the Classic might have a 1.19-inch display.
It’s entirely possible that Samsung might not announce everything mentioned above. Fortunately, the Unpacked event is right around the corner so we don’t have to wait too long to find out.

Salim Merchant: “I Was Fortunate To Have Found Other Avenues”

A lot of musicians, of late, have talked about live shows being impacted during the pandemic. While all agree that earnings have been hit, composer-singer Salim Merchant says he has “fortunate” to have found other avenues.

“We are not just busy with live shows, there are recordings as well. We (Salim-Sulaiman) had a release recently on an OTT platform, Skater Girl. We did the music for that during the Covid lockdown. Apart from that, we also worked on another feature film. We have been able to do a lot of work,” he says.

And with unlock underway, both the audience and artistes, are prepping to step on the stage at some point. In fact, Merchant and his entire team have got vaccinated for that.

“Sulaiman and I got vaccinated first since we are above 45. The minute it opened up for 18 and above, it was so difficult to register. The band was literally together, opening their laptops and checking. Then they got slots. All of our team consisting of 17-18 people, including my help and driver have got it,” he shares.

The 46-year-old, who has worked on films such as Chak De! India (2007) and Kurbaan (2009), says that the whole period so far has had a lot of gloom attached, but he is “thankful” to have managed somehow.

“Honestly, not doing live shows has not been the biggest of challenge [for me]. Some of us lost some near and dear ones. I lose a very close friend of mine about a year ago. He didn’t die of Covid, but a bike accident. It was a very difficult time for us. Everybody lost somebody close to them, which has been a difficult thing,” he says.

The silver lining to this dark period was the duo getting the time to start their own music label. “I am fortunate we actually structured an entire music label of our own, which was a dream. We got the time to start that,” he gushes.
