Pakistani terrorist linked with LeT killed during encounter in J-K’s Srinagar

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India]: A Pakistani terrorist identified as Abu Khalid who was linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT, was killed during an encounter in Srinagar, informed an official statement issued by Kashmir police on Sunday.“Based on specific input generated by Srinagar Police regarding the presence of a terrorist in Theed Harwan area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by the police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Army in the said area,” the statement read. Jammu, Aug 19: A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of the Army was killed and a terrorist neutralised in an encounter in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday. A jawan was injured in the gunfight in Thannamandi area of the district, police sources said. 5 Lashkar terrorists killed, Army jawan martyred in encounter in J-K’s Pulwama

Five Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists, including a district commander, and an Army jawan were killed in an encounter between the ultras and the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday, police said. The security forces had launched a cordon-and-search operation at Hanjin village in the Rajpora area of Pulwama following information about the presence of the terrorists there, a police official said. He said the operation turned into an encounter when the ultras opened fire on the security personnel who retaliated. A soldier was injured in the initial exchange of fire with the terrorists, the official said, adding that the jawan died at a hospital.
