India-Bangladesh agree to pursue construction work in border areas

New Delhi [India]: India and Bangladesh have agreed to pursue the construction of developmental projects in respective border areas during a four-day Border Co-ordination Conference between Inspectors General of Border Security Force (BSF) and Region Commanders of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB).The aim of this conference was to improve mutual co-operation and understanding between both the Border Guarding Forces of India and Bangladesh for better Border Management and to resolve various border-related issues in the mutual interest of both countries. The conference, which was started on November 23 in Kolkata, concluded on Friday. The meeting was conducted between BGB (North-West, Region Rangpur and South West Region Jashore) and BSF (South Bengal Frontier, North Bengal Frontier and Guwahati Frontier). Delhi govt to give Rs 5,000 to workers affected due to ban on construction activities

New Delhi [India] : Delhi government will deposit Rs 5,000 each in bank accounts of construction workers who were affected by the ban on construction activities in the city due to air pollution, said Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Thursday.“I have given an order today to deposit Rs 5,000 each in bank accounts of construction workers in view of a ban on construction activities due to air pollution. We will also provide compensation to workers for their loss according to their minimum wages,” Kejriwal told mediapersons here. New Delhi [India] : Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai held a high-level meeting with senior government officials on Monday to chalk out plans to curb the air pollution in the city.The Delhi Government has lifted the ban on construction and demolition activities in view of an improvement in the air quality, Environment Minister Gopal Rai said on November 22. New Delhi [India]: In the first of its kind and history of Delhi Metro, an Integrated ‘flyover cum Metro viaduct structure’ along with a vehicle underpass is being built near Soorghat on the Majlis Park – Maujpur corridor of Phase – IV in north-east Delhi, in association with PWD, said a press release by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Sunday.This PWD flyover and vehicle underpass are part of a proposed elevated road along Yamuna River parallel to the Ring Road between the Wazirabad Flyover (Signature Bridge) & Ring Road near DND.
