Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India]: Char Dham Yatra continues in Uttarakhand amid snowfall in the state, informed Devasthanam Management Board on Monday. The snowfall has started in the high peaks of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham. The cold also increased in the low-lying areas including both the places of Uttarkashi district.The roads and the helipad here have been covered with a layer of snow and the clearing operations are in process near Kedarnath Shrine. The helicopter service has been affected in Kedarnath and snow is being cleared from the helipad. Meanwhile, the road to Badrinath Shrine is smooth. In Rishikesh, help desks of various departments like police, medical-health, transport, tourism, municipal corporation, Devasthanam Board and Travel Administration Organization are helping passengers. Char Dham Yatra : Bookings

Officials at Kedarnath Dham on Sunday said that bookings for 12-day darshan of Kedarnath Dham located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttrakhand have been completed. Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], September 19 : Kedarnath, Badrinath, Yamunotri and Gangotri are collectively called the Char Dham and the shrines attract lakhs of pilgrims each year. The Uttarakhand high court had lifted its stay on Char Dham yatra, which officially started from Saturday with a capping on the number of pilgrims that will be allowed daily to the four revered Himalayan shrines.According to the court, the number of pilgrims to be allowed daily will be 800 for Kedarnath, 1000 for Badrinath, 600 for Gangotri and 400 for Yamunotri.Officials said that around 10,010 e- passes have been issued to the devotees who have registered to visit Kedarnath Dham.Accordingly, 800 people will be allowed to visit Kedarnath every day and people…

Char Dham Yatra to begin

Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], September 17 : The Char Dham Yatra will begin from September 18, said Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.The state government has started preparing for the yatra after the decision of the Nainital High Court to lift the ban on the pilgrimage. The Nainital High Court on Thursday lifted the ban on Char Dham Yatra and allowed only fully Covid vaccinated people with a mandatory COVID-19 negative report for the annual pilgrimage. The court ordered devotees to follow strict COVID-19 protocols and limited the number of visitors too.The Tourism Department of the state will issue a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in this regard on Friday.Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary Dr SS Sandhu has also reviewed the preparations for Char Dham Yatra and has given necessary instructions by holding a meeting with the officials of various departments related to travel including Tourism and…

In view of declining cases of coronavirus across the country, the Indian Railways has decided to operate a special train in September covering several top tourist destinations, including Char Dham–Badrinath, Jagannath Puri, Rameshwaram, and Dwarkadhish. After the great popularity and success of the “Shri Ramayana Yatra” train operated on the Ramayana circuit, IRCTC has now launched another very popular pilgrimage circuit “Chardham Yatra” by “Dekho Apna Desh” Deluxe AC Tourist Train.
