BMC Sanitizes Sanjay Kapoor’s House After Wife Maheep, Daughter Shanaya Test Covid Positive

Shortly after actor Sanjay Kapoor’s wife Maheep Kapoor and their daughter Shanaya Kapoor tested positive for COVID-19, the BMC officials visited their residence for sanitisation. The BMC officials were spotted at Sanjay’s residence in PPE kits with masks and gloves while sanitising the entire house. The sanitisation of the house comes after the officials had reportedly sealed Sanjay’s Juhu residence declaring it a containment zone after his wife Maheep tested COVID-19 positive. BMC likely to introduce logo with QR Codes

State Environment Minister Aditya Thackeray on Monday asked Brihanamumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) to design a special logo with a QR Code to identify buildings in Mumbai where all eligible residents have been fully vaccinated against coronavirus. Mumbai: BMC begins issuing railway monthly passes for fully vaccinated people to travel in local trains

BMC seals Suniel Shetty’s building

Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sealed several floors of a building in south Mumbai where actor Suniel Shetty resides due to detection of rising Covid-19 cases from there, civic sources said on Monday. The actor and his family members are not affected, the sources added. BMC D ward officer Gaikwad said that the 30-storey building with 120 flats is Pratiksha Apartments, on Altamount Road, where some of the floors have been sealed after detection of covid-19 infections. As per BMC’s Covid-19 protocols, if there are more than five active cases in any particular building, it is eligible for sealing to prevent further spread of the contagion. According to the BMC, in the second wave, a majority of the cases have been reported from residential buildings or skyscrapers as compared to the crowded slum areas.

Draft guidelines prepared to prevent fake vaccination drives: BMC tells Bombay HC

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has told the Bombay High Court that it has formulated draft guidelines to prevent fake vaccination camps at private housing societies, offices, educational institutions and other premises. BMC’s counsel, senior advocate Anil Sakhre, told the high court on Thursday that the civic body had decided to appoint nodal officers, who will be responsible for monitoring anti-coronavirus vaccination camps at such places. These nodal officers will inform the local police and health authorities in case of any malpractices, he said. As per the draft guidelines, on receipt of a request for organising such camps, the BMC will verify the registration of the concerned private COVID-19 vaccination centre (PCVC) on the CoWIN portal before the camps begin.
