Earthquake of magnitude 4.3 hits near Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya


Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) : An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale hit near Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya, the National Center for Seismology (NCS) informed on Friday.

According to NCS, an earthquake occurred 176 km NNE of Ayodhya.
“Earthquake of Magnitude:4.3, Occurred on 06-01-2022, 23:59:22 IST, Lat: 28.14 and Long: 83.14, Depth: 15 Km, Location: 176km NNE of Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh,” NCS tweeted.

Security increased in Ayodhya on Babri Masjid demolition anniversary

Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India]: In view of the anniversary of the demolition of Babri Masjid on Monday, a high alert has been sounded and security increased in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya, said police sources.
Police personnel have been deployed at various checkpoints and security has been tightened, said sources. Identity cards of people entering Ayodhya are being checked. The police force is on alert for security on the roads leading to Ram Janmabhoomi. Elaborate security arrangements have been made to prevent the occurrence of any untoward incident.
A man from Lucknow, who was heading to Ayodhya said, “We are glad that the security has been tightened for our safety.”
Ramanand Shukla, Principal at a local school here said, “The situation is much calmer in Ayodhya as compared to 1992. The authorities have significantly tightened security so that people can feel safe.”
The demolition of Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992 led to violence in several parts of the country.

Deepotsav preparations in full swing at Ayodhya

Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) : Ahead of Diwali, preparations are in the final stage for the grand ‘Deepotsav’ (festival of lamps) at Ram ki Paidi ghats in Ayodhya.
An attempt will be made to create a record by lighting 12 lakh diyas (earthen lamps) all over Ayodhya City.
A sadhu from Ayodhya, said, “Lord Ram along with his wife Seeta and brother Lakshman came back to Ayodhya after completing ‘Van Vaas’ of 14 years. It’s time for us to celebrate and enjoy. Ayodhya is looking beautiful and I thank Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for this.”
The ‘Deepotsav’ celebrations in Ayodhya last year had set the Guinness World records for ‘the largest display of oil lamps’ after 5,84,572 earthen lamps were lit on the banks of river Saryu.

Ayodhya as free pilgrimage

New Delhi [India] : Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal will hold a special Cabinet meeting today at 11 AM to include Ayodhya in the list of religious places under the free pilgrimage scheme for senior citizens of the national capital, sources said.
Delhi CM will also address a press conference after the meeting at around 12 noon in which he can make the above announcement, sources added. Earlier on Tuesday, Kejriwal visited the Ram Janmabhoomi site in Ayodhya. After offering prayers to Ram Lalla, Kejriwal began his speech with a chant of “Jai Shri Ram”.
He further promised to help as many people to have the darshan of Lord Ram with all his strength and resources.
“I am a very small man, but God has given me a lot. Whatever I have got, whatever resources I have, whatever strength I have, I will use it to help as many people to have the darshan of Lord Ram as possible. I want everyone to get a maximum opportunity and I will do whatever I can to help in that,” he said.
“We have a special Cabinet meeting scheduled for tomorrow to include Ayodhya to the list of religious places under the free pilgrimage scheme for senior citizens in Delhi,” he added.

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal performs ‘aarti’ at Sarayu Ghat in Ayodhya

Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India]: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday performed ‘aarti’ at Sarayu Ghat in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
Earlier, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Sanjay Singh had informed that Kejriwal will offer prayers at the birthplace of Lord Ram and will be visiting the Hanuman Garhi temple in Ayodhya on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Kejriwal-led AAP has announced that it will contest the Assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh due to be held next year. The party informed that it would contest all 403 Assembly seats in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Modern technology in Ram Temple

Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India]: The Ram Temple in Ayodhya will be equipped with modern technology, said vice president of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Champat Rai on Tuesday. “Ram temple will be equipped with modern technology. A reflection of the mythology will also be witnessed in the Ram Temple. The impression of the deity Adishakti Navagraha will be engraved in each pillar. There will be special sound effects. There will be arrangements for natural lighting. Special lighting arrangements will be made at festivals. There will be wireless lights and sound arrangements. The security of the temple will be based on state-of-the-art technology,” Rai told mediapersons here.
The VHP leader further said that the sanctum sanctorum of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya will be constructed in such a way that the rays of the Sun God can easily reach Ramlala. The Temple will be constructed in such a way that on the day of Ram Navami, the sun rays fall directly on the face of Ramlala.
For this purpose, studies on the astronomical positions of the Sun have also started. The Temple will be built on the basis of the inputs of the research. Brainstorming is also being done to adopt a specific technique like the Konark temple of Odisha.
Ram Mandir Construction Committee meeting was held at Circuit House in Ayodhya on Tuesday.
Earlier, Rai had told ANI that the construction work of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya is going on at a fast pace and the doors will be opened for devotees by the end of December 2023.
The general secretary of Shriram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust had informed that because currently the concreting is being done, the construction work is being carried at only during nights only.

RSS Chief to visit Ayodhya

New Delhi [India]: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat and General Secretary of the party Dattatreya Hosabale will be visiting Ayodhya from October 19 to 21 to participate in Akhil Bharatiya Saririk Varg, RSS sources said.
According to sources, Bhagwat will take part in the Akhil Bharatiya Saririk Varg, and can also visit Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya. Although the RSS chief will also address the Saririk Vibhag Abhyas Varg to make the construction of the Ram temple a subject. “Bhagwat can give the message of Ram temple to the office bearers joining the exercise class that with our efforts, a grand Ram temple is being constructed in this country,” sources said.
In the Abhyas Varg at the local headquarters of Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) in Karsevakpuram, Bhagwat’s family, the office bearers of all India and all 45 province units of the Sharirik Vibhag of the union is also expected to attend.
“Extensive preparations are being made for the Abhyas Varg, arrangements are being made for the accommodation of more than five hundred people,” sources added.
Elections for 403 assembly constituencies in Uttar Pradesh are due early next year.

Water from 115 nations for Ayodhya

New Delhi [India]: Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Shri Ramjanmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra general secretary Champat Rai on Saturday received water from holy streams, rivers, and seas from 115 nations in seven continents for use in the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
The minister was informed that the water was collected by people of all faiths including Muslims, Buddhists, Sikhs, Jews and Hindus. Singh while speaking to the dignitaries asked the group to start a drive to collect water from 77 countries that have been left out.
“Water has been collected from seven continents and out of 192 countries, water has been collected from 115 nations. I am sure by the time temple will be constructed, 77 countries that are left from this water collection movement will also be included,” said Singh.
Singh praised India for being a nation that believes in the world being a family.
“We did not resort to violence when it came to Ayodhya’s temple but waited it to be resolved peacefully. We don’t discriminate on basis of caste and creed,” said Singh.
The drive to collect water from across the world for the Ram temple and involvement of people across religions was initiated by the Delhi Study Group’s president Vijay Jolly.
Water was collected from 115 nations in seven continents for the Ayodhya Ram temple.
Underlining the importance of the event, SRTKT general secretary Champat Rai said that Ramayan mentions that water was brought from across the world for anointing Lord Ram as a king.
“Those sitting here today are representing the whole world. There is a place in Ayodhya which is known as Saptsagar. It is believed that when Lord Ram was to be anointed, water from seas across the world was brought.
So, we thought why not do this for the temple constructed at his birthplace? We are researching the Ramayana from various countries. Lord Ram is above biases. It is a sentimental issue for me. I invite all of you to come to Ayodhya.
People should come and see the temple construction site. The first phase of the foundation is being completed. Many agencies are working on it. It will have a life of 1,000 years.
Guyana High Commissioner Charrandas Persaud called the event remarkable.
“I am privileged to be part of this group. The occasion speaks for Hindus and the uplift of the culture. I hope someday I will visit Ayodhya,” said Persaud.
Denmark Ambassador Freddy Svane said that he has lived in India for eight years and believes that the future is common and he is happy to be part of the event.
Present on the occasion were High commissioners from Fiji Kamlesh Prakash, Guyana High Commissioner Charrandas Persaud, Nigerian High Commissioner Ahmed Sule and Denmark Ambassador Freddy Svane along with Mauritius labour party representative Dhaneshwar and Teerth Kshetra member Anil Mishra.

Ayodhya’s Ramlila to be held virtually

Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India]: Ayodhya’s Ramlila will be held virtually and will be live-streamed on Doordarshan, the Ramlila Committee in Ayodhya informed on Saturday.
“This year the Ram Lila celebrations will be held virtually. Several film actors from the film fraternity will participate in the event,” Subhash Malik, President of the Ramlila Committee said. “Ramlila will be live telecasted on Doordarshan from October 6-15. Around 35 film stars will portray various characters. We have sent an invitation to the Prime Minister, the President and the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister for the event,” he added.
Dussehra, also known as Vijayadashami, is a major Hindu festival that marks the end of Navratri. This year, Dussehra will be celebrated on October 15, Friday.

PM Modi may visit Ayodhya

Prime Minister Narendra Modi could visit Ayodhya on the occasion of Diwali. As many as 7.5 lakh earthen lamps will be illuminated on the occasion.

New Delhi, India, September 8 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi may visit Ayodhya on the occasion of Diwali this year, sources said. He will be joined by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Diwali will be celebrated on November 4 this year.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the 10-day Diwali celebrations in the temple town. The state tourism and culture department and Ayodhya Development Authority haec began preparations for the event. 

The Ayodhya administration will attempt a new Guinness World record by lighting 7.5 lakh diyas at Ram Ki Paidi ghat on the banks of river Saryu.

Diwali celebrations in Ayodhya have been very special ever since the BJP formed government in Uttar Pradesh under the leadership of Yogi Adityanath. The government started celebrating deepotsav on Diwali eve since coming to power in UP in 2017. This year’s celebrations will be the fifth deepotsav in Ayodhya.

According to the Ayodhya district administration, more than 7000 volunteers, mostly students of the Ram Manohar Lohia Awadh University, will be engaged in the event.

Earlier in 2019, a record 4,10,000 diyas were lit. In 2020, 6,06,569 earthen lamps were illuminated at the Ram Ki Paidi ghat, making a new Guinness World record. Last year, only locals were allowed for deepotsav celebrations in Ayodhya due to the pandemic. 

Railways have big role in making Ayodhya global

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said that railways have a big role to play in putting Ayodhya on the global map.

Minister of State for Railways, Darshana Jardosh ji’s arrival here will prove helpful in accelerating the ongoing railway projects and taking forward the development journey of Ayodhya.” “After a long wait of 5 centuries, with the compassion and efforts of our Prime Minister, the construction work of the grand temple of Lord Shri Ram ji is going on in Ayodhya. Today, under the presence of our President Kovind ji, inauguration and foundation stone of several projects have been laid by Rashtrapati ji,” he said.
Earlier, President Ram Nath Kovind addressed the Ramayana Conclave in Ayodhya and lauded the Uttar Pradesh government’s efforts to take ‘Ramayana’ to common people through art and culture.

Kalyan Singh quit as UP CM without a second thought for Ram Janmabhoomi Andolan: Amit Shah

Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh) [India], August 23 : Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh had quit his post without a second thought for Ram Janmabhoomi Andolan, said Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday.
Shah was in Atrauli in Aligarh district to pay last respects to former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and BJP veteran Kalyan Singh who passed away on Saturday. “Babuji’s passing away is a big loss for BJP. The void he has left will be difficult to fill. After Ram Mandir foundation stone-laying function he had said that the aim of his life has been fulfilled. For Ram Janmabhoomi Andolan, he quit as CM without a second thought,” Shah told mediapersons.

Besides Shah, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Union Ministers Prahlad Patel and VK Singh were also present at Atrauli.

Kalyan Singh who was ailing for some time passed away on August 21 at Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGI) in Lucknow, due to sepsis and multi-organ failure.
A two-time Chief Minister (June 1991 to December 1992 and September 1997 to November 1999), Singh also served as Governor of Rajasthan (2014-2019). Singh also held various organisational posts in the BJP, both at the state and the central level.

UP: 21 kg silver swing for Lord Ram

Ayodhya (Uttar Pradesh) [India], August 12 : To celebrate Shravan Jhula Utsav, a silver Jhula (swing) has been installed for seating Lord Ram at Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra in Uttar Pradesh’s Ayodhya.
“In Ayodhya, there is a tradition of Shravan Jhula Utsav. From Shravan Shukla Tritiya till Purnima, Bhagwan Shri Ram gives darshans on a jhula. Now this 21 kg Silver Jhula has been put in the seva of Bhagwan,” tweeted the official account of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra. Jhula Utsav in Ayodhya is celebrated traditionally on the fifth day of the Shravan month every year.

Ram Mandir in Ayodhya to open for devotees from December 2023

New Delhi [India]: The grand Ram Temple being constructed in Ayodhya will be opened for devotees from December 2023. The source said that Garbhagriha, all five mandaps and the first floor will be ready by December 2023 and the temple will be opened for devotees
Museum, digital archive and research centre will also be built in the complex and the entire journey of the temple will be encapsulated in the museum, informed sources said. The entire complex will be spread over more than 100 acres of land.
The cost of the construction of the grand Ram temple is about Rs 1,000 crore and it is learnt that Rs 3000 crore has already been received in donations for temple construction. This does not include donations from NRIs living in foreign countries as the FCRA account is not there still to receive NRI funds, a source said

There will be no use of bricks and steel in the overall structure but the Ram Temple Trust is sensitive about the bricks in Karsewakpuram as they are being carved for more than 20 years stones and will also be integrated into the structure, sources said.
The majority of stones are coming from Bansi Pahar in Bharatpur, Rajasthan. Some stones to be used in Ayodhya are being carved at the mining site only. Copper will be used in joining the stones and there will be no use of steel, sources said.
On peak days, more than 5 lakh devotees are expected to converge in the temple and arrangements are being made accordingly at the premises.

Outside security of the temple will be provided by state and central governments. However, security inside the temple is expected to be undertaken by the Ram Temple Trust. Larsen and Toubro is implementing the construction of the project and Tata Consulting Engineers has been hired as the monitoring agency.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone of the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya on August 5 last year.
