Director Shankar is known for his blockbuster movies, and he has worked with several leading faces in his career. Shankar who was in news over Kamal Haasan starrer ‘Indian 2’ dispute, has once again grabbed the headlines for a wrong reason, the shocking report says that Director Shankar’s son-in-law Rohit has been prosecuted under the POCSO Act.
Reportedly, during a cricket practice session in Pondicherry, coach Tamarai Kannan allegedly sexually assaulted a 16-year-old girl. The victim has complained to the cricket board about the assault, but the club executives have reportedly asked the victim to not clash with the coach.
Following this, the 16-year-old girl had complained to the Children’s Welfare Committee. The children’s welfare committee conducted an investigation and lodged a complaint with the Mettupalayam police. Coach Thamarai Kannan has been charged with sexual harassment, while another coach Jayakumar, cricket association president Damodaran, secretary Venkat, and a few others, including cricket team captain Rohit (Shankar’s son-in-law), are charged under the POCSO act. After the police complaint, the charged members have reportedly gone undercover, and police officials have been in search of them.
The involvement of Shankar’s son-in-law in the sexual harassment case has shocked the Kollywood fans, and they are hoping that he gets cleared from the issue. Shankar’s eldest daughter Aishwarya, was married to Indian domestic cricket player Rohit, and the wedding ceremony took place in Chennai.
