After the humongous success of the thriller film ‘Operation Java’, Tharun Moorthy is making his sophomore directorial venture with the upcoming film ‘Saudi Vellakka’. Recently, the makers announced the film’s release date, which is scheduled to hit screens on May 20.
‘Saudi Vellakka’ also packs the actors who played significant roles in the film ‘Operation Java’ such as Binu Pappu, and Lukman Avaran. The film also features the actors Devi Varma, Sudha Koppa, and Srindaa.
According to the sources, ‘Saudi Vellakka’ will be a commercial entertainer filled with humor, and family drama and stacked with various songs. The project is backed by the same production company that bankrolled the Fahadh Faasil starrer film ‘Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum’.
Saran Velayudhan is roped in as the cinematographer for ‘Saudi Vellakka’ and the editing section will be handled by Nishad Yusuf. Paali Francis is in charge of composing the music for the film, whereas Vishnu Govind and Sree Sankar will work on the sound design. The script of ‘Saudi Vellakka’ is written by the director Tharun Moorthy himself.
Tharun Moorthy’s directorial debut film ‘Operation Java’ earned big at the box office amidst the pandemic situation and also was the top grosser during the year 2021. The film was stacked with a list of talented casts that included the actors Lukman Avaran, Dhanya Ananya, Binu Pappu, Balu Varghese, Mamitha Baiju, and Mathew Thomas.
‘Operation Java’ told the story of a team of police officers from Kochi cyber cell who embarks on a mission to investigate a series of online crimes happening in the city. The film had a different screenplay and execution-style that reminisced an anthology film style.
