A day after watching her upcoming film Shaakuntalam in a personal screening and sharing her pleasure, actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu kicked off the promotions on Wednesday by providing prayers at the Peddamma Talli temple in Hyderabad. As they started the promotions on a divine be aware, Samantha was joined by director Gunasekhar and Shaakuntalam co-superstar Dev Mohan.

In Shaakuntalam, Samantha plays the character of Shakuntala, the daughter of Menaka and Viswamithra. The film, which was at the beginning deliberate to be released in February, has been driven to April 14. The movie, produced and directed via Gunasekhar, will be launched in Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. This assignment marks Samantha’s maiden collaboration with Gunasekhar.
At the trailer launch of Shaakuntalam earlier this year, an emotional Samantha spoke about her love for cinema and how it hasn’t changed amid all the recent life struggles. She was talking about her rare auto-immune disease called Myositis which she has been diagnosed with last November.
Samantha returned after many months to the units of her upcoming Telugu movie Kushi closing week. Samantha took a break from working after she became identified with Myositis. On returning to the sets of Kushi, she was welcomed with a cake. The film marks the second collaboration of Samantha and Vijay Deverakonda after Mahanati, wherein they have been paired collectively. The movie is directed with the aid of Shiva Nirvana.
