NEP in Haryana

Chandigarh, Jul 8: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Thursday that while envisioning the state government’s commitment to empower students with knowledge, skills and values to increase their employability by providing quality education, the state is already leading the way to ensure successful implementation of the National Education Policy(NEP) by 2025.

Stating this while presiding over a review meeting regarding the implementation of NEP in Haryana here on Thursday, Mr Khattar said that along with teachers, academicians and stakeholders wide publicity of the benefits of NEP should be done among the children too so that they can choose courses as per their choice and the career they wish to pursue.

“Since the announcement of NEP, dedicated efforts have already been made by both state and central government for spreading awareness among the teachers, stakeholders, but making each child, who is the real beneficiary of this policy, aware is need of the hour,” he said.

During the meeting, top officials of Women and Child Development, School Education, Higher Education and Technical Education departments apprised the Chief Minister about the blueprint of the successful implementation of NEP by 2025 as announced by him during the budget session 2021.

Mr Khattar was apprised that the recommendations of NEP have already been put into practice in Haryana and even the recommendations made by Haryana have been included in the NEP.

The Chief Minister said that the target of every department should be to ensure 100 per cent enrollment of school dropouts.

He said empowering students with knowledge, skills and values to increase their employability is the utmost priority of the state government, hence dedicated efforts should be made to ensure that every school dropout gets readmitted and completes ones education.

He said that real time data of the dropouts should be prepared so that every such child is admitted back to schools.
