The movie hardly ever made Rs 5 crore at the field workplace in India. It seems like the film is heading toward a disaster at the box office.

Cirkus is based on the 1982 Hindi film Angoor, a remake of the 1968 Hindi movie Do Dooni Chaar. The latter turned into an edition of the 1963 Bengali film Bhranti Bilas.
