Venkatesh Triparna directorial ‘Ram Asur’ is a small Telugu film starring Abhinav Sardar and Ram Karthik in the lead roles, that didn’t get as many theatres to prove its mettle at the box office, however, to everyone’s surprise, the film is now trending top on one of the popular OTT platforms and is well received by the audience.
The film’s lead cast is reportedly getting hugely praised for their performances and action sequences in the film. ‘Ram Asur’ was released on OTT during Sankranthi and since then it reportedly stood top becoming the most viewed science fiction genre film for the last week on OTT’s.
Another surprising fact about the film is that it stood next to recent high-budget Allu Arjun’s film #Pushpa in the OTT trends online.
‘Ram Asur’ is set in the backdrop of rural parts of Telugu states and is made on the subject of a treasure hunt. The film is produced by the director himself in association with GV ideas. The film stars Chandini Tamilarasan and Sherry Agarwal playing the lady leads in the film.
It is rare to see small films casting new actors trending top on OTT’s, which would inspire many small filmmakers to come up with more novel ideas in the future.
