Rajinikanth & Kamal Haasan Mourn Demise Of Srikanth

Jayalalithaa’s first hero and veteran actor, Srikanth, passed away in Chennai on Tuesday. He was 82. While the entire film fraternity are in a shock, superstar Rajinikanth and Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan have mourned the actor’s demise.

Srikanth was the first antagonist for Rajinikanth who became a full-fledged hero with ‘Bhairavi’. Superstar Rajinikanth remembered his good friend and yesteryear actor Srikanth, who breathed his last on Tuesday due to age-related ailments and posted in Tamil, which translates to, “I’m deeply saddened by the demise of my dear friend Srikanth. May his soul rest in peace”, tweeted Rajinikanth.

Meanwhile, Kamal Haasan also posted in Tamil which translates to, “An all-round performer as the protagonist, villain and character, Srikanth was an avid literary reader and a close friend of Jayakanthan. He stopped his movements today. We will send you on our way with a heavy heart.”

Srikanth debuted with Jayalalithaa in Vennira Aadai (1965) and went on to do memorable roles in a series of K Balachander classics like Bama Vijayam, Poova Thalaiya and Ethir Neechal, besides comedies like Kasethan Kadavulada.
