The past 48 hours have been the most daunting for the family of Puneeth Rajkumar. Despite having to endure the cruel twist of fate, the entire family still ensured that all the fans’ wishes were taken care of and allowed all of them (close to 10 lakh people) to pay their respects to the late actor. And in this very regard, Shiva Rajkumar and the rest of the family have thanked the government, the large police force deployed, and also the fans for their continued support through the last two days.
As stated by IANS, the family came out thanking everyone involved, especially the government, for all the arrangements and also allowing for the last rites to be performed with full state honors. The top officials of the govt., including CM Basavaraj Bommai, have striven hard over the past two days to prepare the most suited send-off to Puneeth Rajkumar.
Puneeth Rajkumar’s mortal remains were kept at the Kantheerava Stadium till the early hours of Sunday, 31st of October, so as to allow the public to catch a final glimpse of its beloved star. Puneeth Rajkumar’s final rites were originally scheduled to take place on the evening of Saturday (October 30th) but due to a delay in the arrival of the actor’s daughter from the United States, the govt. decided on pushing the event to the next day. Anticipating the frenzy beforehand, the officials had deployed a large police force throughout the city.
Puneeth Rajkumar was cremated earlier today at the Kanteerava Studio, right next to his mother Parvathamma Rajkumar who passed away in May of 2017. Vinay Rajkumar, s/o Raghavendra Rajkumar, performed the rituals for his uncle’s final journey amidst the presence of film personalities and other dignitaries.
