Puneeth Rajkumar Awarded A Posthumous Doctorate By The University Of Mysore

Vice-Chancellor of the University of Mysore, Prof Hemanth Rao, has announced that late actor Puneeth Rajkumar will be honored with a doctor posthumously, for his contribution in the field of cinema and for his philanthropic works. Puneeth Rajkumar’s father and Kannada thespian Rajkumar also has received an honorary doctorate from the same university.

The authorities have said that they have reached out to Ashwini, Puneeth Rajkumar wife, who has agreed to receive the doctorate on behalf of Puneeth on March 22 in 102th convocation. The Karnataka government has also announced Karnataka Rathna award to Puneeth Rajkumar who passed away in last October. As the news comes ahead of his film James release it has to be a double delighted for his fans.

The Karnataka government has also assured financial assistance to have a dedicated school for Shakthidhama Children which is the dream of Appu. Shakhtidhama Women’s Rehabilitation and Development Center began functioning in the year 1997, an initiative started by producer Parvathamma Rajkumar, to support women who are in distress and educate girls who are from underprivileged families.
