Prosenjit Chatterjee Wraps Up ‘Shesh Pata’

He’s often called Bengali cinema’s one-man industry. If Aamir Khan is Bollywood’s perfectionist then Prosenjit, too, is Tollywood’s prized asset. He has played roles that only he could have pulled off in some of the biggest Bengali commercial potboilers before breaking out to experiment with the on-screen image that once made him the go-to actor to kick-start an offbeat film. The Tollywood superstar is still up for challenges and that’s why he said yes to Atanu Ghosh’s next film ‘Shesh Pata’.

After a hectic schedule, Prosenjit who will be seen in a completely unrecognizable character has finally wrapped up the shoot. The celebrated actor took to his Instagram handle to share a wrap-up picture with the entire cast and crew of ‘Sesh Pata’. “Finally we wrapped up #SheshPata shoot yesterday. It’s always a pleasure to work with @atanugsh1208. Thanks to the entire cast and crew for your immense support. All of you have made this journey wonderful,” he captioned the post.

Incidentally, on Prosenjit’s birthday, Atanu had shared what keeps the actor going, “It is Bumba da’s perseverance which has helped him leave behind the already set acting pattern that used to rule Bengali cinema for years. It’s also his passion and dedication towards his craft that has made him the star he is today.”

In ‘Shesh Pata’, he will be seen as Balmiki, an arrogant non-conformist writer of fiction. The film also stars Garge Roychowdhury, Vikram Chatterjee, Rayati Bhattacharya and others in pivotal roles. ‘Shesh Pata’ explores the very basic concept of debt and the idea of freedom attached to the word. See, debt comes with quite a lot of mental and emotional costs. Some debts become so heavier on our minds.

Interestingly, just think the person to whom you have to pay the debt might be terribly unsettled as well. So it can take a toll on both the giver and the receiver. It’s quite an absorbing theme to experiment with.”
