New Delhi [India]: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday commemorated previous PM Rajiv Gandhi on his 31st death anniversary.

” On his death anniversary, paying tributes to our late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi,” tweets PM Modi.

Meanwhile,  Congress leader Rahul Gandhi stated his dad was a visionary leader whose policies assisted shape modern India.

Taking to Twitter, the Wayanad MP said, “My papa was a visionary leader whose policies helped form modern India. He was a caring man. as well as a wonderful father to me as well as Priyanka, who taught us the worth of forgiveness and compassion. I very much miss him and fondly remember the moment we invested with each other.”

Born upon August 20 in 1944, Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by a Freedom Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) suicide bombers  during an election rally in Sriperumbudur in Tamil Nadu on May 21, 1991.
