The Yogesh-Aditi Prabhudeva starrer ‘Ombattane Dikku’ was earlier scheduled for a theatrical release on the 31st of December (2021). However, owing to box office clashes and the resulting unavailability of sufficient theatre slots, the team has now decided on pushing the release by four weeks – ‘Ombattane Dikku’ will now hit the big screens on the 28th of January, 2022.
Director Dayal Padmanabhan took to social media to send out a video message to all fans. He stated that the makers chose to postpone the release due to factors like theatre availability and in order to ensure box office returns, the change in plans seemed warranted. Previously, ‘Ombattane Dikku’ was slated for a box office with the Ajai Rao – Rachita Ram starrer ‘Love You Rachchu’ on the 31st of December.
Ombattane Dikku will be Aditi Prabhudeva’s second outing with Dayal Padmanabhan after the 2019 film ‘Ranganayaki’. The director, known for his thrillers, had revealed to an online daily that although ‘Ombattane Dikku’ isn’t a women-centric narrative, it still boasts of strong female characters for a bonafide action-thriller. Reportedly, the film happens to be a legal remake of a Tamil hit and Dayal Padmanabhan has made changes to the plot so as to suit the local Kannada audience.
