Nusrat Jahan, Nikhil Jain’s Marriage Not Legally Valid: Kolkata Court

A Kolkata court has ruled that the controversial wedding of Nikhil Jain and Nusrat Jahan is not valid. The court declared it wasn’t a legal wedding between the estranged couple.

Earlier in June this year, actor-politician Nusrat Jahan had released a shocking statement claiming that her marriage with Nikhil Jain happened according to Turkish law and that’s why it isn’t valid in India. She also alleged that her family jewelry and some other assets were ‘illegally held back’ by Nikhil. She even claimed that her “funds were mishandled” from several accounts without her permission.

Stating Nusrat Jahan and Nikhil Jain’s wedding as an invalid one, a Kolkata court on Wednesday said, “It is declared that the alleged marriage held on 19/06/2019 at Bodrum, Turkey in between the plaintiff and the defendant is not legally valid. The suit is, thus, disposed off on admission.”

Incidentally, Nikhil Jain had already filed for an annulment. After Nusrat Jahan announced their marriage invalid in India, Nikhil had claimed that he repeatedly urged Nusrat to get the marriage registered, but she didn’t do it.

Earlier, Nikhil had also revealed that have been separated since November last year. Nusrat Jahan got married to Nikhil Jain on June 19, 2019, after dating for some time. Their marriage was an intimate ceremony in Turkey and they later hosted a wedding reception in Kolkata.

Right now, Nusrat is in a relationship with actor Yash Dasgupta. In August, Nusrat gave birth to a baby boy Yishaan. However, Nikhil had insisted that the boy is not his. Much has been said ever since Nusrat Jahan announced her pregnancy and embarked on the journey of motherhood. There have been rumours that suggested she has secretly married Yash already. The couple hasn’t made their relationship public but the pictures they share from their respective Instagram handles have all but confirmed their union.
