The long-awaited film ‘Netrikann’ starring the lady superstar Nayanthara in the lead is finally set for release. Just like most films in recent times, ‘Netrikann’ produced by Vignesh Shivnand directed by Milind Rau, will also see its release on a popular OTT platform Disney Plus Hotstar since the theatres are still shut due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation.
This will be Nayanthara’s 65th film. The title of the film has been borrowed by a Rajinikanth film of the same name which was released in 1981. In the first look poster of the film, Nayanthara is seen with blood oozing out of her forehead. Nayanthara is believed to be playing a visually challenged character in the film and hence, the title of the film is written in Braille.
Tipped to be another woman-centric thriller, Nayanthara’s Netrikann is believed to be an official remake of the Korean thriller, Blind. Apparently, Nayanthara plays a cadet at a police academy, who loses her eyesight after a car accident. The makers haven’t officially confirmed whether the film is a remake. Going by the title font in the first look poster which is written in Braille, it’s safe to assume that Nayanthara plays a blind character.
The film will have music by Marina fame Girishh, cinematography by Karthik Ganesh G, and editing by Lawrence Kishore.
