Aurangabad, Aug 10: Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 312 new Covid-19 cases and 5 fatalities during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed.
Details from all the district headquarters collected by UNI show that out of the eight districts of the region, Beed district was the worst-affected as it recorded 167 new cases and 3 deaths, followed by Latur which had 14 cases and single death, Aurangabad had 13 cases and single death, Osmanabad had 94 cases,Jalna had 14 new cases, Nanded recorded 9 cases, Hingoli had only single case and Parbhani nil.
Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 4,505 fresh cases of COVID-19 were recorded across the state, taking the total number of infections to 63,57,833.
The state also registered 68 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,34,068.
Meanwhile, the highest 7,568 patients also recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 61,51,956.
The state’s recovery rate currently stands at 96.77 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.1 per cent.
At present, there are 68,375 active cases across the state undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, added the health authorities.
