Mammootty and Parvathy-starrer Puzhu is an intense mystery thriller that essentially revolves around a watchful father and his mischievous son. The strained relationship between the father-son duo forms the emotional core. Puzhu is set to premiere on SonyLIV on May 13, as confirmed in the trailer. This is Mammootty and Parvathy’s first collaboration.
It is evident that Mammootty is playing a character with grey shades. While he tries to protect his seemingly menacing son, he faces a big threat from an outsider. Who is the outsider? The trailer ends with this hook point. The mystery and suspense factors kick in halfway through the trailer. Mammootty is accompanied by Parvathy Thiruvothu, Malavika Menon, and Nedumudi Venu on screen.
In one of her recent interviews, Parvathy had revealed that Mammootty is playing a character unlike anything he had ever played before. She says the audience will be surprised to see Mammootty in such a character.
As mentioned before, Puzhu is directed by debutant Ratheena PT and produced by S George. Jakes Bejoy scored the soundtrack, and the cinematography is by Theni Eswar. The film has Mammootty, Parvathy, Indrans, Nedumudi Venu, Malavika Menon, and others in important roles.
