Suvendu Adhikari Wins Nandigram Election Results 2021: After a day-long suspense and a nail-biting contest, the result of Nandigram battle is out and it is West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee who has been defeated from the high-profile seat by her aide-turned-rival Suvendu Adhikari of the BJP.
After reports emerged of Suvendu Adhikari trailing by 1.200 votes, the tide turned in favour of him in the evening as he trumped Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee by a margin of 1,953 votes.
Even while addressing the media, Mamata Banerjee conceded defeat and said that she has accepted the verdict of people.
Chief Electoral Officer Arif Aftab told ABP Ananda that there could be recounting in Nandigram regarding which final decision would be taken by the Returning Officer.
However, Banerjee alleged that manipulations were done in Nandigram counting. She said, “accept the verdict. But I will move the Court because I have information that after the declaration of results there were some manipulations done and I will reveal those.”
In an exclusive conversation with ABP Ananda Editor, Banerjee told her party will approach the election commission and press for recounting of votes.
Meanwhile, it was tweeted from official handle of Trinamool Congress that counting in Nandigram is still underway as it asked people not to speculate.
BJP’s Amit Malviya also took to Twitter and announced that TMC supremo has lost to BJP’s candidate.
