Ananya Pandey takes a gen-Z approach to makeup. The actor has never shied away from trying something over-the-top or dramatic, especially when she’s stepping out for promotions or award shows. “I love being that glamorous girl, dressing up, and getting my pictures clicked,” she told Vogue India. Here’s how you can take cues from the star.
1)Use Colored Eyeliners To Brighten Your Eyes
Black kajal is a mainstay that will accentuate your eyes and make them pop. But if you need a little extra to wake you up, a nude or white eyeliner in the inner corners and on the lash line can make your eyes look open and bright. “It was her makeup artist Stacy Gomes who taught her to always use a nude kajal pencil inside the waterline to make eyes look bigger. That’s one thing she loves doing and makes sure any artist she works with knows that too,” confirmed Panday.
2) Use Blush On More Than Just Your Cheeks
Ananya Pandey is obsessed with blush. She uses it on the cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead. While most people only use blush on their cheekbones, she likes to blend it on all over. Applying blush to the areas that the sun hits, like your forehead, chin and the tip of your nose will give your skin a just-from-vacation glow that you’ll love. She takes the same color to her lips too.
3) Don’t Over-Use Base Products
Foundation may be the first step in a makeup routine, but if you don’t need full coverage, you can eschew it for a little concealer. She doesn’t use foundation. She put concealer under the eyes and all over her face and set it with a loose powder,” said Panday. This can prevent your skin from looking cakey or too over-done. But if you’re using this little coverage, a good skincare routine is key. “Her mum emphasizes the importance of sunscreen. Even if I’m sitting at home, she tells me to put it on. I use a normal face wash and spray rose water onto my face at least twice or thrice a day. It energises me and wakes me up,” she shared.
4) Use Fun Color In Your Makeup Routine
“She would bring back colour. Back in the day, people used to experiment a lot with different shades,” she said about how she likes to experiment, taking cues from her mother, Bhavana Pandey. “My mum used to do very bronzy makeup when I was about 12, using golden oil on her body and turquoise liner under her eyes. I don’t have the courage to do it yet, but it looked super hot on her.” Now, Panday might be rocking a smoky eye or cat-eye most of the time, but a stroke of brightly coloured eyeliner or a swath of green, pink or blue eyeshadow can really stand out.
5) Bold Brows Can Frame Your Face
Bold Brushed Brows are the best addition to your makeup routine. “She has highlights in her hair but not her eyebrows,” shared Panday. “She likes bold brow because they’re darker and really standing out.” She keeps a spoolie handy at all times. “She constantly needs to keep brushing her eyebrows upwards, even if she doesn’t fill them, because she has reasonably thick brows said, Ananya Pandey.
