Mah: Marathwada registers 220 Covid cases

Aurangabad, Aug 28: The Marathwada region of Maharashtra recorded 220 fresh Covid-19 cases and no deaths during the past 24 hours, health authorities informed on Saturday.

According to a report, of the eight districts, Beed was the worst-affected with 121 cases, followed by Osmanabad– 51, Latur–23 cases, Aurangabad– 22, Parbhani– two cases and single case in Nanded.

Jalna and Hingoli districts did not record any fresh infection, it said.

Meanwhile, during the past 24 hours, 4,654 fresh cases were recorded across Maharashtra, taking the total number of infections to 64,47,412.

The state also registered 170 fatalities during the same period, taking the death toll to 1,36,900.

Meanwhile, 3,301 patients recovered in the state, pushing the total number of recoveries to 62,55,451.

The recovery rate currently stands at 97.02 per cent while the fatality rate is 2.12 per cent.

Currently, there are 51,574 active cases across Maharashtra undergoing treatment at different COVID-19 centres and hospitals, the health authorities said.
